ok where do we start, the tour was lovely but why did we come here? no atmosphere, I am guessing there is no staff training and after reading some of other peoples reviews how do they stay in business, it appears everything is everybody elses fault but most certainly not the hotels or the hotels staff. you are in a...

Good afternoon louiseholls, Well here is your much awaited response. I am not sure exactly what you reviewing as the bacon was for another guest = and we did not run out of bacon - we had a substitute so that the guests did not go without. I do not understand your comment about Vetting guests ? You may be...

After travelling for several hours we arrived and were greeted with " restaurant is closed you have to eat in the bar" we booked a half board package. The bar was not suitable to eat a three course dinner in as the tables were no higher than a coffee table. There was no menu for a half board package, just...

Dear Stephen J, Thank you for your comments regarding your stay with us. The delightful thing about sites such as this, is that we get to respond back to you. Upon arrival you were politely informed that due to low numbers dinner for the evening would be served in the bar area not quite as you stated. You were here...

I was recently in Burton on a business trip and booked in at the Mercure. I have to say the grounds of the property are absolutely stunning, the view from my room looked out onto the rear gardens which was great to wake up to. Overall the interior could do with a bit of modernisation as the rooms look quite...

Comfortable and clean. Lovely firm bed. Gardens very relaxing to sit in and chill. Nice breakfast - orange juice particularly good. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Drinks in the bar a bit expensive !!

We stayed here for 3 nights, we were staying as a couple and met up with friends. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and well laid out buffet style, with plenty of choice. We ate in the restaurant on our last night, food was gorgeous and value for money. The only downside was guests from a wedding being...

Stayed on business in what obviously was at one time a nice hotel but is in desperate need of some help. My room (115) was a double bed in room appropriate for a single, decor was very dated although the room was clean. No biscuits in the room which seems to be a policy with Mercure Hotels but seems to...

One night stay for a girls weekend. Hotel room was perfectly fine for my needs. Fresh clean white linen and towels, coffee, tea, iron, hairdryer TV. Internet access. Fairly hard bed but slept fairly well and no outside noise, although the heating system could perhaps do with an overhaul as although it wasn't turned on the system ran all night....

We stayed for two nights but only ate dinner on the first night. The dessert was disappointing but my complaint was swiftly dealt with.
