The staff went above and beyond to make my day special! Leah was an absolute gem all throughout my planning, constantly reassuring me, and making sure all of the details were completely correct multiple times so things weren’t wrong on the day.
The room decor and the ceremony were amazing. The staff couldn’t have made it any more perfect for us.
Staff during the meal were amazing with my children interacting with them and making sure they were ok.
Sammy and Sean made my day run very smoothly, making sure I was happy with everything, making sure everything was on time and kept consulting me with what was happening next, as someone with autism I found this very helpful.
I would highly recommend the castle to anyone, the wedding package is very affordable and everything included is amazing! The bridal suit was very clean and very relaxing,
Thank you to you all for making my wedding perfect x

We had booked a two night stay and when we booked we was told that we could use the local council car park which was about a 100 metres away.
But a few weeks before we were to travel we received an update stating that the council had changed the car park to short stay only but there were other overnight car parks about 10min walk away ( all car parks were pay and display)
When we arrived at the hotel we checked in and carried our cases up to the 2nd floor no lifts in this hotel.
The room itself was more Hostel than hotel.
The building I was told was 500 years old and looked like it was possibly the original decor and carpet in the room.
The colour scheme was well dated and looked like it was well overdue for an upgrade the same could be said for the carpet and whatever had been used as an underlay.
The wardrobe was tiny to say the least which was also where the iron ( this leaked more water than steam produced) and the ironing board which wobbled to the point that we decided not to use it was stored .
The bathroom looked like it had been done up at some point in time but again needs to be updated.
The bed mattress was hard and pillows were not much better.
There was no view out of the window apart from a fire escape and some wheelie bins
The breakfast I have to say was better than I was expecting and the breakfast area was pleasant enough
Would I stay here again I'm afraid it would be a No
This hotel is in a great location but if all the rooms are similar to the one we had I would say that it really needs to look at updating them.

I booked the Castle Hotel in Tamworth For a group of us attending the area for a charity bike ride for the armed forces charity.
I booked 3 rooms a year in advance having looked at the hotel through the usual booking sites. I dealt with a very nice person who answered all my questions and took the booking.
8 months later I received two emails covering a room each. These emails were cancelling our booking with no explanation why. I wondered If the was an error so I called the hotel very soon after the emails were received ( a Sunday late afternoon early evening).
The receptionist was again very nice and informed me that a wedding had booked in and they had complained that there were no available rooms for the guests and this is why my booking had been cancelled.
I was dumbfounded that without a call or anything we were simply cancelled and to top it off the receptionist told me that I agreed to this as the old manager had only taken the booking on the understanding that if an event booked in they could cancel the rooms.
I explained that no such conversation had happened and asked to speak to a manager. I was told that no managers were on duty. I said that I expect to be contacted by the hotel manager by the end of play on the following Wednesday, I am sure that you will not be surprised to hear no such call happened.
Best bit was that only two of the rooms were cancelled. Very poor service no consideration for the guests and Management who avoid dealing with complaints hiding behind the poor reception staff.
I would avoid this hotel if you are relying on having the room you booked as if a better offer comes along you will possibly find the room is cancelled.
First off we walked in and were met by an awful smell; mixture of stale cigarettes and moth balls; we complained to reception and were fobbed off and just told “sorry there’s no other rooms available”, she didn’t even take the time to come and check out the room or offer any food will. The room was extremely tired and dated; visible damage to walls and carpets, bathroom door didn’t fully close, furniture balanced by bits of cardboard, over head shower didn’t work; and the little shower head had such little pressure it wasn’t worth using; plus the toilet seat moved so when you sat down you went flying.
When we left, the same receptionist was on and didn’t even ask how are stay was as she clearly knew.
The receptionist informed us the bar would not be open but breakfast would be available in the restaurant downstairs from 07:30. Sleep wasn't great on a lumpy mattress with paper-thin pillows then down to breakfast. Found the totally deserted "restaurant" and helped ourselves to the meagre offerings of 3 choices of cereal and a yoghurt before finding the bread-bin and making toast in a toaster set on virtually zero heat. Coffee was just instant rubbish and the orange juice that eventually arrived via a visit to the reception was like orange squash.
We left very unhappy but then spent 4 nights in a tent which was much more comfortable.
I'd rather sleep in a dumpster than pay anything to this hovel again.
My room (7) was so cold I slept fully clothed! There are no staff to complain to, all the hotel facilities are closed so no restaurant, no bar, bedroom was freezing, bathroom slightly colder, no housekeeping so you make your own bed and use a damp towel on day two as you can't dry it .... and they charge you £118 per night for the privilege.....
I would have complained to the staff to give them the opportunity to fix the issues and not posted on here but there are no staff 🤷🏼♂️
My advice - avoid and stay at a Premier Inn.
We booked the bridle suite as it was supposed to be the best room and it smelled like sewer in the room - it was small and smelled of air freshener (probably to hide the smell). The bathroom was great however. I would be disappointed if I were using this after my wedding. It was also six flights of stairs with heavy cases and no help.
I would never recommend staying here again!
