We were greeted warmly on arrival. The house keeper had left curly wurlys for the kids. We had paid for the meal deal and once again warmly welcomed by a great waiter. He really was attentive and warm. The meal was lovely. The hotel was so quiet at night which was fantastic. The next morning we were up early and once again had a warm welcome from the chef who had laid out a fresh hot breakfast. She came out to chat to my kids who were going to Lapland uk. Staff make a hotel and these are a credit to premier inn. I only wish I had taken more notice of their names.

I read some of the reviews and was a bit worried, there was no need to be.

It is a basic premier inn, it for less than £60 a night for a family room with 2 adults and 2 kids with breakfast (hot) you can’t go wrong.

Room - shower is brilliant, great power. Towels big, albeit only 1 each, bed was sooooo comfortable, only double and normally a king.
The 2 kids had their own beds. Hairdryer does its job. Found everything to be clean

Check in - the lady was so lovely and helped us check in very fast and efficiently

Breakfast - bread and pastries on a buffet along with juices and hot drinks. Bread was a hard, but once toasted no issues. We had to order the hot food and it was great.
The lady serving us was very lovely and attentive.

General toilets we very clean too

Great location

Our room was very quiet and great temperature

Parking very close, and payable separately to the hotel

Overall, for 2 nights at £113 in a family room with breakfast, a bargain of a deal.

Thank you

Bath leaks, sink blocked with with horrible smell, no shaver point. 1 large bath/shower towel between 2, ensure room is fit for purpose prior to arrival of visitors.
Bed itself and sheets were excellent, lovely nights sleep.
The bathroom experience made it feel a bit rough and ready unfortunately on this visit.

Changed rooms, twice, third room was eventually cleaned, so I thought until the morning. Not carrying out their “additional Premier Inn CleanProtect hygiene measures”. Can’t find staff when you need them, didn’t see a manager. First floor carpet is disgusting and smells, not cleaned in the three days I was there even though I reported it twice, took photos of the same rubbish on the carpet each day…. Breakfast was terrible, especially on the Sunday, your shoes stick to the floor, tables weren’t cleared. No cups at the coffee machine had to wait for someone to bring out plates and cups a couple at a time, wasn’t even that busy. Other guests complaining as you walked in saying hope you like waiting and if you see a cup grab it and hold onto it. Little lady bringing out food to fill bacon etc complaining about how many things she has to do and she’s got to go and clean rooms when she’s finished. Not good complaining to guests about how bad the place is. This place is definitely going downhill, not sure I would stay here again unless there is a big improvement as I stay down here several times a year. Written complaint, will wait to see outcome.

Came to visit family. Non communication between staff led to wheelchair users room not being ready and wrong when it was. Eventually access to room late evening after much confusion. By this time wheelchair user distraught. Compensated with free breakfast for one. Inadequate compensation for bad experience. Also no nearby disabled long term parking.. 9 pounds a night for car park 10 mins walk away. Not good for people with disabilities. Able bodied relative had great experience and no fault found.

Recently spent a few nights at the premier Inn Camberley when visiting family. Warned in advance hotel was short staffed and rooms would not be cleaned daily. Rooms were relatively clean, and staff more than accommodating. Communal areas in need of some TLC. Location was perfect, easy walking distance from train station and central to shopping, bars and restaurants. Opposite the gates to Sandhurst . Over all was a clean room to rest in and would go back and use again, just not premier Inn standards I would normally expect.

Although the window was open the room, No 421, still felt vey stuffy. We booked a double room but only had one bath towel, the second was hanging on the back of the door and still wet from the previous occupants. There is no phone in the room so we were unable to contact the reception this also begs the question how are your guests supposed to summon help if they become ill, not everyone has a mobile phone and not all phones have a good signal, so very poor from a health and safety point of view.
No spare pillows, which I've never known before in a premier inn.
The TV volume could not be turned down so we were unable to watch the TV when we got in without disturbing other guests.
Having previously worked for an airline that use your hotels for their crew I have spent may nights in your hotels and I would rank this as the poorest property I have stayed in, which is a shame as I have stayed here before.
If I had not have pre-paid for my nights stay I'm not sure that I would have paid for this sub-standard service and if I had been able to speak to the hotel manager at the time I would most certainly have asked for some form of refund, but unfortunately they were not available!!!
In general a very poor and tired room

Not a welcoming visit, on arrival not able to issue room keys, rooms requested to be adjoining or next to each other this was not available on booking in despite contacting the hotel prior to arrival and informed this would be made possible.
Rooms were not clean, dust on shelving unit "with clean me" so been like it a while. Carpet dirty bathroom not clean overall not appealing. We actually went and cleaned the shelves and bathroom ourselves as no staff available to do so and not able to move us due to being fully booked.
Overall experience not great, use Premier Inn regularly for both business and leisure. After this experience we think we shall start reviewing this and looking at alternatives. Standards at PI have dropped since COVID which is frustrating as they can offer much more.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Owner at Premier Inn Camberley Hotel
Responded 16 Sept 2021
Hi there, thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. Whilst we're happy you stayed with us, we're sorry your room wasn't up to our usual standard. We can imagine this left you feeling let down and this certainly isn't how we want our guests to feel. We'd like to assure you we'll raise this with the Hotel Manager to see what improvements can be made going forward. We wouldn't want your experience to happen again so the Housekeeping team will be informed to ensure any necessary retraining is arranged and the best service is being provided. We hope you don't think twice about returning so please have confidence this isn't our usual standard and your comments will be picked up. Thanks again for your review and we hope to see you again soon. Ricky

Booked to stay overnight with my husband to attend my aunts funeral.
Receptionist was very helpful and accommodating when I realised I’d forgotten my travel iron, he insisted on bringing it to our room for me. Very comfortable bed, spacious room and good size en-suite.

We came here as we live local and their breakfast is one of the best in the area. We didn't stay in the hotel part, but you can just use the restaurant area, which we do and like. We have been to the restaurant on a lot of times and both the food and service has been excellent 👌. This time we came and spoke to the person who seemed to be running the restaurant part and she was polite and friendly and took our payment for two full English breakfast and showed us to table area. Unfortunately my partner received a call and we had to leave straight away. We explained this to her and asked for a refund on my card, she went away and then came back and said that the manager was not in and she couldn't do a refund. The thought I had was that if I was working there, I would have know already that the manager wasn't in work, so why go and look 🤔. My partner phoned the next day to sort it out and was told to come in and they would sort it, but when she turned up she was told that they couldn't do a refund 😕, so apart from wasting my partners time and fuel, when they could have just said that on the phone, plus Premier Inn still had £20 of my money. Maybe you need to look at both your policies and also if you can do refunds in the future, please train all your staff to be able to carry out that task.
