Detailed Reviews
Looking for somewhere to stay nearby to family. A Victorian manor house which has been turned into a variety of styles of rooms set in a beautiful location with views from most of the bedrooms. We had a superior twin room, overlooking duckpond at front. Room was spacious, beds very comfortable, all facilities spotless. The Covid precautions were so good we felt very safe.We had dinner bed and breakfast Staycation offer which was amazing value. The meals were excellent, plentiful and varied. Biggest compliments to the staff. Friendly, courteous and so hard working. Only know two names Carla and Kevin who seemed to do everything from Reception to meal service as did all others.Had room service for breakfast as real luxury! Afternoon tea on the terrace with our local family was highlight of the stay. We will go back again. It does offer a Gatwick car parking and transport service which clearly was much appreciated by others we knew were using it.The car parking was well lit and organised. Like to pass on our thanks to all the staff who we met there. What a team! Diane and John Ovett

We were traveling abroad when all flights were cancelled from Gatwick airport and our airline ( BA.Com ) were useless in helping to organise overnight accommodation for my family. A quick check on line and I found this hotel near Gatwick airport. We called and spoke to Julie who understood our dilemma and soon she had organised a family room at a great price even though they were nearly fully booked with the cancellation at the airport. A quick 10 min taxi ride and we arrived to a fantastic Manor House hotel set in amazing grounds and on entering the reception of the Manor House we were stunned by the wonderful reception area with comfy couches and open fire in an amazing entrance hall and greeted by friendly staff who had already organised our room.
The bedroom was very large with a huge four poster bed and extra kids bed and was extremely comfy, well appointed and clean with a newly installed on suite.
The bar and restaurant were good and food and staff all excellent and very accommodating. We were very lucky to find this amazing country house hotel in our hour of need and help us forget the cancelled flight until the next day.
We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at the Stanhill Court for one night early March 2020, and left our car there for a total of fifteen nights while we holidayed in the Caribbean. All for a total price of £107.00, which we thought was great value for money.
Check in and check out was very efficient, and the hotel organised a taxi to Gatwick Airport for £10.00. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities. We did not eat at the hotel, but the bar was very pleasant for a couple of drinks before retiring.
Ignore the negative reviews regarding the car park, it is fine. Plenty of spaces to choose from and we were happy with the security. Of course the added bonus here is that you keep your keys.
We would recommend this hotel without hesitation, and will use it again when flying from Gatwick.

We decided to treat ourselves to a night away on the first day the hotel had reopened following the lockdown changes
Staff were friendly and welcoming and made our stay very relaxing.
All the social distancing and hygiene regulations were adhered to by staff including hand sanitisers located around the hotel.
The hotel looked amazing and the 3 course dinner was just perfect at a very reasonable price.
Well done and thank you to all the staff at the hotel.
I can 100% recommend this hotel and will not hesitate in staying here again in the near future.

No doubt the location of hotel is great.
Arrived and checked in without being asked to log into the NHS QR code test & trace and they did not take my email address, I assume they thought they could use the one I booked with however the room was booked by a family member as a present so it was the wrong contact.
Room was clean & like it had recently all been refurbished.
On going down to the restaurant staff & guests were wearing masks but on entering the restaurant the cutlery was laid on all tables and not sealed in napkins, we did ask for a new set of cutlery and questioned why they were not sealed etc and were told by the waiter 'that is how the management have told us to do it!'
We were given the paper menus and the choices were good but when we gave the menus back they were immediately given to the table next door instead of being destroyed as we had touch them this was the same with the wine menu.
The food was prompt and tasty.
We were asked to fill in our breakfast order and the choices once again were good.
On coming down to breakfast once again all the cutlery was on the table!
To change to these COVID-19 regulations wouldn't take long with in house training but it seems the management at the Hotel is sloppy.
On looking at the Stanhill website the group has another hotel called The View in Folkestone and I hope they have better COVID-19 procedures in place.
The lack of care to all guests over COVID-19 rules left a bitter taste in the mouth especially as it was a present

+1
This is a beautiful traditional country manor hotel yet contemporary as well as classic in design & feature. The welcome is warm & professional, the staff are conscientious & attentive. The hotel is beautifully decorated & furnished inside with several seating areas to relax & unwind, not least on the Chesterfield in the foyer in front of the roaring fire.
The restaurant serves up a fabulous breakfast, with plenty of variety & happily caters for all requests. Very good & we heartily recommend! (£9.95)
The dinner menu, likewise, was impressive & each meal very well presented. The restaurant itself is set in a beautiful orangery, with a European/Continental feel & the staff, again, are very attentive & friendly. The Sunday Roast menu the hotel provides sounds delicious with a choice of several meats & the vegetarian option, & we look forward to experiencing this another time soon.
The bedrooms are beautifully furnished & we were offered an upgrade, which was a lovely gesture. The room we had was 'plush' - beautifully & tastefully decorated & I definitely felt pampered (was my birthday - 21 again!)! Lots of window light, but tasteful & thick curtains to block out the cold dark night.
The bedsheets were soft, the bed super comfy, the tv a good size & we had the usual kettle facilities to make a hot cuppa - great!
(The bathroom too was lovely, heated & had all we needed.)
Would we stay again? Absolutely, we'll be back just as soon as we can!

We arrive to no hot water and no heating (left with the same situation), would have been nice to have had a call or email warning us so we could shower at home rather than having to have a freezing cold shower, and didn't seem to have made an effort to fix the problem we were told different things by different people. Restaraunt was closed for lunch so had to drive to a pub. The room was tiny smallest room I have ever stayed in at the star level, also very noisy. We missed our on breakfast as looks like not enough staff or not organised enough, no tables set and still dirty table clothes from night before no cutlery and food had practically ran out and got fed up waiting for it to be replenished. On checkout we never got a bill receptionist just took money of card taken for security rather than asking if its OK to use that card and when we brought up all the issues she wasn't interested.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your stay. We take all guest feedback seriously. Unfortunately, on the date of your stay we suffered sudden flood damage to our boiler room due to Storm Denis. We did our best to keep guests advised of the situation. If you would like to contact the hotel direct I will be more than happy to discuss the issues raised.

Beautiful setting for Afternoon Tea on the terrace, under a sun shade. Far reaching views of the English countryside and North Downs Hills. The tea was served in traditional pretty bone china cups with matching plates. A lovely spread with the best tasting scones we've had in a long while (also they were not too large, which sometimes they are and that is too much with other cakes to follow).
The period hotel has glamour and elegence and with a large conservatory at the back overlooking the garden with the views, it would be a great venue for a celebration party

Got nice sized and comfy room for 150 2 nights, breakfast extra. Room in corner overlooking kitchen yard so not great view. Room could have had a chair or sofa too. Great, comfy and enormous bed tho duvet too thick for season. V clean inside bit windows on outside needed major clean to clear huge cobwebs. Grounds v nice, can see wedding and event potential. Lovely sun loungers but hammocks under tree so covered in bird poo! Lovely amphitheatre and (closed) goat area and orchard, real wow potential but for goodness sake, gvie it a clean up and sweep! Grt idea to have soap dispenser for sink but if saving on toiletries post covid, don't bother with the mean little plastic tubes of shower gel, just install same in the shower! No other toiletries given, no tissues, rubbish lighting for applying makeup and v poor hair drier. Breakfast a tenner. Nice room if a bit glittery. No pastries, no fresh or other fruit, no yoghurt. Decent cooked breakfast apart from vvv watery and inedible poached egg. We didn't bother the 2nd day. This place could be really amazing but needs tlc.

We had a 6am flight from Gatwick and got a very reasonable overnight stay and parking package for 3 weeks through Holiday Extras. We paid about half the price of the next comparable standard hotel, with parking at the hotel. The hotel looks good outside and inside and the grounds look interesting too.
We were given a room on the first floor with a skylight lantern window, which felt a bit strange, but we weren’t in the room during daylight hours for it to matter. The room had everything we needed, including USB charging points by the bed and a kettle for an early morning cuppa. Dinner was very good - it’s not fine dining, but you’re not paying fine dining prices. The standard and price of a good pub meal. The wine prices were excellent.
We were in bed early, as we were leaving at 3am, but a noisy, thankfully small, wedding party, kept us awake until after 11am. The hotel organises a reasonably priced taxi to Gatwick, which arrived bang on time. There was nobody on reception at that time to check out.
If you’re leaving your car, think carefully about where you park it. We were close to a tree and it was covered in bird poo, leaves and even a fairly large branch when we got back.
Overall, a good experience and we'll definitely return if we’re flying from Gatwick again.

Yes I am sure that’s fine
Hello. We didn"t do either. We only had breakfast there. The restaurant looked too dead for dining. We ate out.
Hi yes there are, they looked ok and are available for infirm people, sorry for late reply
Tho I cannot recall the exact time they close, I had dinner at 8 p.m. and they asked me to pick the time I would be showing up for the meal. I asked if that would be too late and they said "not at all." They are very accommodating, and the bar is opened well past 10 p.m. so you should be fine for dinner.
yes i think there is.
