Just spent the weekend at this hotel spending two days after attending a wedding event nearby

It’s in a wooded area and you feel cut out from civilisation, it’s peaceful and tranquil. It also happened to be a very rainy blowy weekend so you spend most of the time indoors

There is plenty of parking for guests and the staff are very hospitable

Generally the reception is clean but note that accommodations are not all through one entrance. There are various blocks so depending on which room has been allocated to you, may see you move around

The rooms very well laid out and generally clean including the bathroom.

We had breakfasts and dinner at the place and the over the weekend the breakfast was laid out and you served yourself but on Monday morning you had to order what you wanted. Overall quality of food was good

Generally the decor reminded us of Thailand with elephants decor and statues around the site. We assumed being a wooded area that there would be opportunity to walk around the site or the countryside, but the rain quickly put paid to this idea, you will need rain boots to enjoy any walk around this area.

There is a sailing club apposite this hotel and there is also a dog and cat grooming centre round the corner

On the downside the issue is connectivity with the external world. Wifi is not reliable and mobile phone reception is very weak or no existent in many areas. So if you are looking to work, this is not the place for you, remember this is a spa resort, so you should be relaxing the bulk of the time

Would love to visit again, at least to enjoy the scenic views around the site especially the pond across the hotel

Not my first visit here but always a pleasant one.

I was working a few miles away and this is my favourite hotel in this area by far - the location is peaceful and the hotel is a bit of a tardis, bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside.

I stayed in a king double (room 48) which was very well appointed and quiet even with my initial concerns that it overlooked the main car park and not the more picturesque “pond”.

Dinner and the bar were both good - and normal hotel prices…don’t expect a bargain but don’t expect to pay over the odds either.

In short, next time I’m working in the area I will definitely stay here again.

Four stars I’m not sure four stars for the surroundings but the hotel no . The hotel it’s self is ok if you stay here be aware the rooms are very cold the corridors are freezing so is the dining room so I agree with the other reviews on this hotel there are radiators or towel warmers in the bathroom so Constant wet towels . We also noticed that there are hell of a lot of cctv in the hotel you feel like you’re constantly being watched when I say lot of cameras I mean a lot . The food was good service was good . Now the spa my wife & I had a massage each which was very good staff very professional spa was very clean BUT be aware even if you’re staying in the hotel which isn’t cheap to still have to pay £30 each to use the hot tub on top of £150 for 2 massages . Which we understand we have to pay for a treatment but extra £30 each to use hot tub is bit steep if you’re staying at the hotel . Our phone didn’t work on our room so if we needed anything or report room was cold or wanted room service we had to go to reception.
So if you stay here it’s very cold wet towels loads of cctv being watched all of the time £30 each of use of hot tub lots of dead mosquitoes in the room which other reviews have said .

Firstly this is a nice hotel ie Rooms and grounds. However what let’s it down is the chaotic staff no leadership and some poor practices.

Examples, Reservation couldn’t be found on arrival took about 20 mins to sort out. The staff are ok although English is clearly their second language which can make things difficult to understand.

Came back this evening room key didn’t work went to reception to sort it, came back to the room not serviced. I phoned reception and they advised they’d call house keeping, around an hour later went to reception to be told there was no housekeeping and the reception chap would have to clean the room himself.

Crazy remember this is a 4 star hotel.

Breakfast is a strange affair as there are no menus which with the current situation I understand however there are menus in the bar for dinner. I would expect however on sitting down to be told what hot items are available to be had instead it’s a guess.

There is also no room service which again wasn’t told on checkin very annoying why they can’t like most hotels do the room service bring it to your room and leave it outside then give a knock on the door.

It’s a real shame as it’s in a lovely area.

We booked a two night break at Frensham Ponds Hotel & Spa.
At approximately 3.30am on our first night my wife discovered a pair of dirty men’s underpants in our bed. They certainly did not belong to us. Given the time of night and the disruption of seeking to move rooms we decided to sleep on top of the bed and raise the matter with the hotel management in the morning.
After checking with Housekeeping and contacting the previous occupant of the room, the Manger seemed to conclude that we were con artists trying to cheat the hotel of the cost of a nights stay. This made us determined not to pay for the first night and a heated discussion ensued. Having consulted with Head Office, the Manager agreed to offer us an upgrade for our second night, but insisted we pay for the first night. We declined the upgrade and continued to insist that, given the dirty underpants and the way we were now being treated, we shouldn’t be expected to pay for the first night. She consulted again with Head Office and now offered to refund the cost of our dinner (which was approximately the same amount as the room) and release us from our booking for the second night. Basically she threw us out. We accepted this without hesitation and left immediately.
NB: This hotel is part of Classic British Hotels who operate around fifty U.K. hotels. They also have a sister brand, Great National Hotels & Resorts. We will make sure to avoid all of them.

We stayed at the hotel in order to attend a wedding. We followed the hotels procedure of checking in online the night before our arrival where we informed them of our early estimated arrival time of 12. Check in is standarly from 3 pm and on arrival our room was not ready. This was not an issue as we were not expecting our room to be ready early. However. At 5pm when we returned from the ceremony to be told again our room was still not ready was incredibly frustrating. We were offered no solution or compensation and were simply told they would "come to find us " to let us know.
Unsurprisingly no one came to find us and at 7pm when we finished eating we asked again and were finally able to check in. Only on pushing were we offered a free drink (beer/wine) to make up for the inconvenience.
For the price of this hotel (£150 pn) I would expect much better service. I understand that sometimes things are delayed but the service we received was very poor.
There were a few minor issues with the room itself (USB not working, bathroom mirror light not working, missing iron) and very intermittent WiFi, which are not big deals but in a hotel charging this amount per night you would expect better. In summary budget service for high end price.
In fairness to the hotel there were some good aspects - comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and its in a very nice location. I expect many of the issues stemmed from there being a lack of experienced staff.

superior rooms are large, but in need of a redo, their 70’ furniture and carpets/curtains look tired and dusty, but they are clean; they offer small mini fridge no microwave. The WIFI needs to improve: spotty and hard to log in.
Staff is very nice and helpful.
The absolutely worse is their restaurant that I would rate 1 star: slow service and badly cooked food (burned burgers, overcooked dry poultry, mashed potatoes made of mix, tomato soup out of can), overpriced for the quality and they do not offer refunds for complains.

We have just had the pleasure of holding our company party for 60 people at this wonderful venue. From our initial visit and meeting with Mala, right through to the actual event, was an extremely enjoyable, stress-free experience, which was really refreshing. We had some very specific requirements of the room layout, etc to create the look and feel we wanted to achieve, and they accommodated all of our requests, with nothing feeling like too much trouble. We had a set menu, with a number of special dietary requirements, and everyone agreed it was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The service during the meal was outstanding, with ample staff there to ensure that the dinner service was very efficient. Most of our guests were staying in the hotel and feedback was that check-in and check-out was friendly and smooth, and everyone was pleased with the standard of their rooms. We had also also booked the 3 suites overlooking the pond and they are definitely well worth it, as the views are amazing. We are a local Farnham business and specifically chose the venue for its location, as it may only be a few miles from the town centre but it feels like an escape to the country which everyone agreed, so highly recommend! Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a memorable and wonderful evening.

We stayed in this hotel with family for several nights when attending a nearby family wedding. The hotel had accessible rooms for elderly and younger family members. We took a room in the main ‘old’ part of the hotel. Rooms were cleaned daily, our rooms hot water tap was a wee bit temperamental. Hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet was great and catered for all ages and tastes. The location of the hotel is very picturesque and there are a number of lovely rural countryside walks nearby. Enjoyable stay overall.

I visited the hotel with my sister and aunt, on a Wednesday, for afternoon tea. For most of the time we were the only ones in the restaurant. The setting is very much an average dining room rather than comfy chairs and coffee tables.
The waitress/receptionist was very nice but not very attentive. We had to keep searching for her when we needed something. A box of tea bags was placed on the table; no English breakfast tea anywhere to be seen! We had to ask and 3 teabags were placed on the table. Two pots of water (lukewarm) were brought to the table. I had to ask for coffee and then cream. I wasn’t offered anymore and had to ask again for another. It was a case of search for the waitress come receptionist! We then had to ask for more hot water and requested it was boiling this time along with a clean cup; no fresh teabags were given. The food eventually came and it was ok. A selection of four finger sandwiches each (2 pieces of bread). Very average sandwiches. No offer of refills. The whole place lacked atmosphere compared to other places I had been to for afternoon tea. I would rate it 5/10 being generous. I had never been to this hotel before and I definitely won’t be going back. Also, a 10% service charge was automatically added to the bill but the service was slow and not good.

I went onto AA Route finder for you and Frensham Pond Country House Hotel is in Hampshire, Ellel Ministries is further north than Blackpool. It says the distance is 262 -265 miles apart and a time of travel of 4 hours 15 mins to 4 hours 30 mins. I am unsure if this is what you are requiring, good luck.
