I'm extremely happy with the way the staff treated me as a guest. Always helpful, always cheerful.

The rooms are inexpensive and they're pretty good, with comfy beds and a shower that isn't temperamental with giving you water at the right temperature.

My only quibble was the carpet was rather dusty. It stood out because everything else in the room is very clean.

Oh and one of the lifts (the rightmost one) makes loud frightening noises. It didn't break down on me ever, though I was worried that it might.

Overall, I had a good time here. Bang for the buck.

(I neither used the Wi-Fi nor availed of breakfast, so I have no comment on those.)

This is a good option which is relatively cheap for the area and I’d be happy to stay again despite a couple of minor drawbacks.

The hotel is in the town centre and has a good location. Don’t be put off by the completely unwelcoming ground floor foyer when you arrive. My room was clean, comfortable and had everything in it that was required. Plenty of hot water for the shower and easy to borrow a hairdryer from reception which worked really well.

Staff were friendly and pleasant. The breakfast room was light and airy and the breakfast was very good with lots of choices; it is well worth the additional cost.

Two of the three lifts were out of service which was frustrating and the staircase could do with some love - think 1970’s multi-storey carpark. I’ve never seen concrete stairs in a hotel! It would also be great if Travelodge would invest in blackout curtains as their purple competitor has.

But other than that, all good!

We stayed for two nights as we were lucky enough to get tickets for Wimbledon via the Ballot.

The outside of the hotel does need a facelift but it doesn’t effect your stay. The lift had the display part missing and all wires showing which was a bit disconcerting. I choose to use the stairs and I think they are used as urinals as the smell was awful.

When we went to our allocated room it stank of cigarette smoke, but when we complained we were moved instantly so can’t fault them for that.

The rooms are very basic but we paid £150 for two nights during Wimbledon fortnight and all we needed was somewhere to sleep so it was fine.
We only had one towel and no duvet cover as they had a problem with linen as they were awaiting a delivery. Thankfully it was warm enough for just a sheet and by 10pm on our first night a delivery had arrived and we were given an extra towel.

We didn’t have breakfast as I had read the reviews but there are plenty of options near by. Weatherspoons, McDonald’s and M&S so not an issue.

We pre booked parking at Fairfield’s and it was great. A one minute walk to the travelodge.

It was a good base for Wimbledon and I would recommend if you need someone cheap to stay and you realise it’s basic. We caught the train to Wimbledon and it was a 10 minute train ride. The train station is a five minute walk away and they leave every 15 minutes. We then walked from the station to the tennis, which was about a 20 minutes walk (you could get a taxi or bus) but the weather was dry and you just follow the crowds.

The hotel is situated in the Royal Borough and is within walking distance of the main shopping centre, restaurants and cafes.
From Reception to leaving I could not ask for any more.
The room was spacious and clean with coffee/tea making facilities.
A lovely double bed.
Walk in bathroom with shower with pleny of space for all your bits and bobs.
Good selection of food and beverages available for breakfast and the diner was very clean, bright and spacey.
If required the Travelodge wi-fi is free for a limited time, £3 for 24 hours or totally free for 7 days or over.
The hotel is just across from a bus station and not too far from the train station and therefore ideal if you wish to travel to London or surrounding areas.
It is also within walking distance of the River Thames where you can walk along to Hampton Court, Bushy Park, Teddingon, Moseley or simply enjoy the views.

I have been to Travelodge hotels all over the country as a family of four and all have been fine until now. What an excuse of a hotel this is, I just hope and pray you heed my advice, this place is awful. Do not book a family room there they are so small and cramped you feel suffocated,I complained to everyone who said was on charge and basically was told to get on with it. Security to the building is is non existent with easy access to each floor, the security door to our family floor was broke with a sign was placed on the door saying please don't close door due to broken handle, door will not open if closed, which made sleeping difficult due to the fact any tom, dick or harry could access our floor from the street, again I raised this issue and was told not to worry, not an offer to move us to feel safer. Also please do not have breakfast there the food is stale, off and basically inedible and the staff dam right rude, finally on our second night 02/01/2020 the fire alarm went off at about 21.30, the children were in a blind panic having watched the news recently about another Travelodge fire, no one was available for advice as we evacuated the building down a urine wreaking stairwell, no one came down to advise us, we made our way to the reception the kids still petrified only for the reception to laugh and say an alarm had been smashed by someone off the street I presume. I know this report sounds harsh but I really have nothing positive to about this total shambles of a horrible hotel. Try at your own peril. I feel so sorry for my partner who paid for this trip as a nice family stay whilst the children are off school. Shame on you Kingston upon Thames Travelodge central

One of the mugs in the room had a cigarette butt in it to welcome us. There was only one bath towel and one hand towel in the room for two people. There were also no BBC channels on the tiny TV. Just settling down for the night a very loud hum developed in the plant room next door so they moved us to a different room up on the 6th floor which was marginally better and did have BBC channels. At 1.20 am the fire alarm went off which they said was due to a customer smoking in a room on the third floor. Having just got back to sleep we were woken again by very loud people vacating a room at 3.15am. To top it all, when trying to take a shower in the morning, there was no hot water! Absolutely stone cold! Worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. Run by a skeleton staff (although we would say the staff we encountered were very helpful and courteous) the hotel rooms are very basic and the fittings and fixtures are looking tired. They did offer to refund the price of the stay for a voucher for another stay,- no thanks! Opt for the Premier Inn next door which is considerably better and only very slightly more expensive. They also have a deal with NCP car park offering discounted parking for the night, which nets the room cost back down to the same price as the Travelodge. The Travelodge doesn’t offer this which is strange considering both hotels are in the same building. These hotels are of course priced for the budget end of the market, but Travelodge needs to try a bit harder than this!

This hotel isn’t located in the most desirable part of Kingston.
We had booked 2 nights which happened to coincide with a couple of hot days. On check in we were told that the room didn’t have air conditioning and would be hot. The receptionist was very nice and friendly and we were given a couple of suggestions on how to cool the room down.
1) Put the 8” fan by the window was this will pull the cooler air in from outside! It 30c outside.
2) Get a glass of ice from the bar and place behind the 8” fan and it will act like an air conditioning unit! Lol. I’m an air conditioning engineer. I can assure you that it won’t.
3) Turn the shower on cold and run it for 20 minutes with the bathroom door open. The temperature of the water couldn’t even touch the heat in this room and I’m also not sure how this fits with Travelodge’s environmental policy.

When we got to our room hot didn’t even cover it. The room was uninhabitable you literally couldn’t breath in there. After an hour we had to check out and go and find another hotel at a considerable extra cost.
I can’t believe that these rooms can be comfortable on an average summer's day let alone during an unusually hot one.
Unless you plan to stay in the depths of winter I can’t see how anyone could have a comfortable night in this hotel.
I understand Travelodge is budget but the one thing you do expect is a room comfortable enough to sleep in, not that we stayed long enough to get this far.

I couldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked 4 family rooms at the London Kington Upon Thames Central hotel for 1 nights stay on the 29/08/2022. When we got to the hotel at approximately 3:30PM for check-in we were initially told that the rooms had not been cleaned due to a staff shortage and would need to wait approximately 15 mins to have them sorted, and in the mean time for us to wait in the restaurant.

After 20 mins we went back to the reception, waited another 10 minutes for someone to appear who then told us that there was a problem with the door locks; they were not able to get them open. There was no time given for the problem to be resolved as we were told that the issue had been on going since the 28/08/2022. We were told to wait in the restaurant; which was now closed so no food or drink was available, while the staff tried to get us moved to another hotel.

We carried on waiting. As you can imagine with a total of 14 people of which 3 where under 5 including a toddler and a baby, 2 were under 16, 2 who were over 70 and one person in a wheelchair things were getting very desperate. The children were not able to rest and were getting upset. The elderly and disabled person was not able to lie down and ended up being in pain for the rest of the night.

It was approximately 5:15PM when 1 room was given to share between the 14 people, due to the situation we were in, we were forced to accept and then spent the next hour in a very tight and hot room.

Then approximately 6:30PM we were given 1 more room which went to the elderly, which again was very hot. The rest of us including the children and the disabled person were still in that room.

At 7:15PM one other room was given which the disabled person was moved into again very hot and to be honest this room wasnt really clean. With burnt carpets and dented walls.

Not enough space to put the rest. Breakfast was just as bad. Acoid at all costs!

First let me say it was a good hotel. The unfortunate combination of hot weather and building design meant that some of the rooms differed in temperature quite drastically.
We stayed on the top floor, that may have made a difference being close to the roof. However, the two rooms we occupied were on opposite sides of the corridor. On one side the temperature was cool and comfortable. On the other side it was a constant sauna. Unbearable heat with no air flow, even with the room door open.
A desk fan was provided and a bucket of ice to put next to it. This did next to nothing.
We resorted to buying an extension lead and 16" pedestal fan to put next to the bed for some relief while sleeping. We also used an extension lead and put the desk fan on a chair next to the beds.
The staff could not have done any more to accommodate us, they were great.
I think the only thing that may have improved the situation is if there had been a substantial extractor fan in the bathroom/toilet to create an air flow.

I would suggest finding other accommodation arrangements if you like to have a wash your hands, have a shower or even flush the toilet. No running water at hotel during whole of stay (seemed like ongoing issue speak to other guests) and lack action by team to help move to another location or even provide bottled water. Avoid this location , can’t even be called cheap and cheerful. 90 quid for the night? nothing cheerful about it!

Hi, the Travelodge doesn’t have its own parking. There is a Car Park opposite which is called The Cattle Market car park and you can find out online whether you can prebook I think it is a Council car park. Hope that helps.

There's an NCP next to the hotel and another parking company across the road. Got there by train it's a 5 min walk from the station. The station will get you up to Wimbledon or Clapham Junction where all the connections to where you're looking to go.
