This Travelodge is in a great location and offers reasonable prices if booked in advance. The rooms provide little, but if all you want is a place to sleep then it is enough. I have stayed a few times and their is little noise from inside or outside the hotel. My only gripe is that the cleaners could try a bit harder to make sure that the bathrooms are spotless.

Irina was very kind and helpful, she welcomed us and gave us all the information we needed about the hotel and extra tea and coffee supplies. We stayed two nights. The room was clean but carpets could do with a shampoo. It was very warm due to the weather and time of year. Window opened only slightly. There was a fan which helped a little but the hotel could really benefit from air conditioning! We needed an iron and staff quickly brought an ironing board to our room which was helpful. Very noisy outside on the Wednesday night with people at bars open late and we struggled to sleep even with the window closed. Hotel is an older style travelodge and could do with some updating but was fine for just a night or two.

The room was far too hot, one small fan which simply moved the air around the room, was provided. Only 1 set of towels for a family of four, no soap in the sink dispenser. I checked in at 4pm, but our room wasn't ready.

Although the beds were comfortable, the rest of the stay was rather unpleasant. Although we weren’t expecting much, we thought that the bare minimum would be emptying the bins on a daily basis, clean towels/bedding, a keycard that worked, and toilet rolls being replaced, but none of this happened. The double bed only had a thin sheet, whereas the twin beds had duvets, although one was stained with what looked to be menstrual blood, and the towels had makeup stains on them. Serves a purpose, but would not return.

Hotel room not been cleaned or touched by any cleaning staff at all and no fresh towel or bed linen had been provided. The room was left in the same mess as it was earlier in the morning. I queried with staff member and she said that it was policy that room would not be clean until after 7 days of stay and that I could have requested a “top up”, (only providing fresh towel and bed linen), but that no cleaning would be carried out. This was not stated to me during booking or check in at all, or I would have not chosen to stay at this hotel. Besides, the security alarm at the vacant Wilko store next door was going off the whole night.

We arrived at the Travelodge hotel as a big group and were all promptly given rooms and all the information we needed. The Travelodge at Kingston is in a nice quiet street with the tube, shops, bars and restaurants at hands reach. We arrived weary from travel, and were very well rested after staying in our room which was spatious and comortable. Our room had fresh towels, a water heater and cups from the hotel with complimentary instant coffee and tea bags. Everything was clean and orderly.

When we arrived at the hotel we had minor problems with our keycard where the door was not recognizing it. But we really were not bothered by that as we had the wonderful and very helpful Irina on reception assist us at any time and fixed the problem. Really the most memorable person from our trip to Travelodge was Irina. She was patient, charming and really warm where we felt like family, which meant a lot to us. Our trip was a success and we will remember the Travelodge in Kingston very fondly. Until next time !

The staff here are ridiculously friendly, nothing is too much bother for them. Would highly recommend this place. The rooms are always perfectly prepared, it’s the ideal place to come and relax when you’re travelling for work and just need a quiet place to rest for the night.

This is about Irina. I love the enthusiasm and the life she brings out of the place you can tell she’s working from far away from fresh scent she leaves. She leaves the place smelling clean and fresh and even outdone herself trying to decorate the TRAVELODGE welcome sign to make it more festive. She is always smiling and tries her best and is happy to help but most importantly is sympathetic. She’s. Great to speak to when I’m not feeling well and makes my day every time. She effortlessly puts a smile on my face. Honestly she has made me like it here only because of her existence!!! I love it and always look forward to seeing her next. Event though she is like a friend she still leaves it professional well done !!

Holiday needs modernisation and maintenance. Room was not refreshed or buckets emptied during our three day stay, despite putting sign out and going to reception. Noisy inside and outside hotel. Although trains frequent they were expensive to get in and out of London.

Conveniently located, with recently-refurbished rooms and friendly, helpful staff. This hotel is worth a ‘5’. However, my experience was completely ruined by a lack of heating in my room, so it only scrapes a ‘2’.

On a bitterly cold January day, the outdoor temperature was zero degrees, but I arrived to find my window had been left open all day, meaning the bed and the bottom two feet of my room were absolutely stone cold.

The room heater was switched off at the wall. There were various control buttons: Advance, Back, ^, v and Enter but no instructions on how to set it. I tried a few things, but whenever I set it to 27 degrees, the temperature went back down to 20 degrees, which is much colder than I have my central heating set at home.

Eventually, I’d simply had enough, put my clothes back on and headed all the way down to reception. The lady on duty told me to unplug the heater from the wall, leave it for a few minutes, plug it back in and use the up and down buttons, then it would work.

I did this and went back to bed to watch TV. However, after a while, the room started getting cold again. I pulled the thin, short duvet as far as I could up to my head (I’m 6’ 3”) but struggled to sleep properly even though the bed itself was very comfortable.

In the morning, I noticed that the room was fitted with a motion sensor that automatically reduced the room temperature to 20 degrees when it was unoccupied. I think this device had possibly been confused by me lying in bed, which might explain why the heating kept turning itself off as soon as I’d just turned it up.

As I was checking out, I asked a different person at the desk what the problem with the room heating was. It turns out the advice I had been given was incorrect. In order to set the temperature, you first have to press the ‘Back’ button to set the controls to manual, and only then use the up and down arrows to set the temperature.

Frankly, I’m not impressed. I don’t imagine I’m the only person to have had this issue, and it’s clearly something that has been overlooked by the architects and at Head Office when designing the new rooms.
