Kingston upon Thames is a charming riverside suburb just 25 minutes from central London by train, complete with quaint, leafy streets and a rather regal atmosphere. Our smart Kingston upon Thames hotel is in the centre of town, just a 5 minute walk from Kingston train station. Sample local culture at one of the bustling markets nearby, or wander a few minutes over to Old London Road to see the iconic Falling Over Telephone Boxes art installation. If greenery and stunning vistas are your thing, head to nearby Richmond Park or the world-renowned Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew for the day, before returning for a tasty meal in our on-site restaurant. You'll feel right at home on one of our new generation bedrooms, featuring an impressive 40" flat screen tv, bright, modern, bathroom with a large shower head, and brand new, slumber inducing, king-size bed.

Great value hotel in good location to access Twickenham for the rugby. Close to Thames path for walks to Hampton court. Bed was super comfy and breakfast very good value. Kingston has a lot going on and proximity to river allowed us to have some great walks.

We visited the branch in Kingston for my sons birthday, we booked 2 family rooms so he could bring 2 of his friends as we had planned some activities for both days in the area. I have stayed in both the travel lodges nearby but it so much more worth to pay a little extra especially if you are staying with children to stay here , The rooms were clean and very spacious ( although could have done with a couple of spare pillows)the pull out bed was a little uncomfortable for one of the older children so is suited a little one. Obviously due to Covid the buffet breakfast has changed and the order is taken from you table and brought to you , queue 5 fussy children telling the lovely servers what they wanted , some of the orders were wrong but they were quick to sort it out and it wasn’t really a big deal for us , nothing we ask for seemed too much and they were all so friendly and nice.we ordered a pizza from the restaurant to bring to the room which was a very good price and tasted lovely . The reception manager was again very friendly and welcoming. On whole a great stay and we are planning again to stay soon .

1st stay here, great hotel, central location. Opposite a bus station, short walk to the railway station. Room was clean, hotel was quiet, breakfast was amazing. £35 for a midweek twin. Great value. Didn't drive but noticed there is a car park adjacent. No evening meals are served in the restaurant but your able to order off a reduced menu and take to your room.

Where to start, there had been an incident on Friday night in the area so the front of the hotel was cordoned off. Finally found a door open (fire door) no one there to tell you where to go and no signage.

The lifts were disgusting, dirty with torn posters so delighted when I
Got to reception and there was no hand sanitizer in the reception (container was empty) or the one by the restaurant entrance.

Wasn’t offered breakfast on check in so assumed we could just turn up.

Table in room completely stained, bedroom door didn’t close as you left the room.

Not surprisingly breakfast was very busy, no one on reception other guests were asking for help in the restaurant as no one was there.

Breakfast hot buffet almost empty until someone went and asked for it to be refilled bacon came out cold.. just really poor management.

Definitely not worth what was paid (much higher due to the Tom Jones concert)… staff need training and if you want to make people feel safe actually fill the sanitizers which were still empty when we left.

Should have stayed at the Hilton.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn London Kingston Upon Thames Hotel

Hi, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you were left disappointed by the cleanliness standards in your room on arrival. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and teams has always been incredibly important to us and everyone in our hotels should rightly expect a safe, clean and protected environment. The Coronavirus crisis has brought this into sharp focus, which is why we have launched a new rigorous, daily cleaning regime across all our hotels. We apologise you found your room to not be up to the high standard we would expect. We have ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with our Housekeeping teams to prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, Mo

We booked 3 rooms. Check in now not until 4pm. Emails repeatedly said masks needed to be worn which made us feel we would be staying somewhere safe. Reality is none of the staff are wearing masks and in turn very few visitors. The lifts and the keys were a nightmare. Lifts tiny and no hand sanitizer available. They've taken up every social distancing sign they had. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable so had a terrible first night sleep. We left after the first day abd came home rather than stay a second night. Staff completely uninterested when we checked out, noone asked why, staff member was too busy on the the phone to even care that someone with 3 rooms was leaving early. To be honest it's put me off ever staying in a premier inn again. The restaurant was also closed each evening we would have been there so bare that in mind - thankfully Kingston upon Thames has plenty of places to eat if needed. Breakfast was okay but again not covid secure at all. Have your hand sanitizer at the ready!

While the location of the hotel was great for our needs (going to Twickenham for Rugby) the room was very tired and not that clean. Skirting boards and shower head had not been dusted for some time and a number of the things that made the cost of a Premier Inn Room good value for money are not present since COVID. Auto top up of tea/milk/coffee is now achieved by you remembering to to grab some when you go to your room. Cleaning of the room (which basically consists of changing the towels is only done if you specifically request this with reception. Reception is rarely permanently manned so when you have to wait for someone to return/walk by reception.
The outside of the hotel is quite dirty and the decor within the rooms was dated/scuffed in need of redecoration. The bed which is usually the best thing in the room on this occasion was worn and very creaky. the slightest movement by either of us in bed resulted in the bed creaking loudly. The bed which is normally firm was too soft for my liking. Our room was on the same level as the reception/restaurant which meant we had to squeeze past people getting their breakfast when we were leaving our room which must have been seemed odd for those dining?

After reading some previous reviews we were worried about what we would find when we arrived. However, we had a great stay. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I could not hear any outside noise and slept very well. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower excellent. Room facilities were all very good, small problem with the kettle was resolved very quickly indeed, so cannot complain.
Breakfast was a self-service buffet and was generally well stocked and organised. Kazim was very welcoming and attentive. Overall very pleased.
I would have no hestitation in staying here again on a future visit.

We booked a family room, which, when booking asks for the ages of children…I was therefore very disappointed to find that my 11 year old was expected to sleep on a fold out camp bed that I’d suggest is no good for anyone over 8. Also if a room is booked for 3 people it would be nice to have 3 cups/glasses/towels etc.

The general feel of the entire hotel was tired, grubby and in need of attention.

We visited the restaurant in the evening and as it was relatively quiet, we were perplexed when our drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive….when our meals eventually arrived, one meal was entirely wrong, another had bits missing and we’d nearly finished eating before the childrens meals even arrived. No apology for the wait. Service was awful. Waitresses were rude. We obviously complained and the waitress went off to find out what had happened she came back (after we’d finished eating) to say the ‘chef’ was cooking the missing bits….our reply was don’t bother, we’ve finished eating.

Not a great advertisement for Premier Inn.

Hi, Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been left feeling disappointed with the overall standard of the hotel, the uncomfortable bed, and the experience you had within the restaurant. We can imagine this left you feeling let down and this definitely isn’t the experience we want any of our guests to have whilst staying with us. We'd like to assure you we'll raise this with the Hotel Manager to see what improvements can be made going forward. We wouldn't want your experience to happen again so the team will be informed to ensure any necessary retraining is carried out. The worst Premier Inn we have ever stayed in. I normally stay in Premier Inns as they you can usually rely on them being clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Kingston was disappointing. Some of the lifts didn't work, the key cards needed resetting daily, the breakfast was cold, the gluten free bread was the worst we have ever had I'm concerned about the cleanliness. We came away from our 2 night stay with Covid having never had it before in two and a half years, and spent our time in Kingston either outside or wearing masks.

Staff are friendly and welcoming however the hotel is dated, dirty, lifts are a maze to figure out (something other customers were discussing in the lobby too).

Our experience was dissatisfactory as the accessible room’s bathroom sink was blocked when we checked in and the problem was brought up to management but unfortunately not solved. They did not have a spare room to check us into or nothing was offered as compensation for a blocked sink that was bringing back up waste when used… Would provide pictures if possible to attach.

The reviews on Trustpilot seem to have reviews which reflect similar experiences regarding cleanliness.

Do they charge for disabled cars at ncp parking.
Answer from Buttercupbunny
Apt, France1 contribution1 helpful vote
If you have a proper Blue Badge, there are a few convenient handicapped parking spaces (I think only 2 or 3), but if you put the car in any ordinary space, even if you display your Blue Badge, you still get charged. It is about £10 for parking overnight. Be prepared to pay at the automatic machine, the handicapped spaces might be already taken. If you get into difficulties, there is a button on the machine to speak with a human, and should be quite helpful. They helped me.
