Ranmore Rise is a Luxury Bed and Breakfast located in the heart of the Surrey Hills with spectacular, panoramic views of the North Downs and Box Hill. Stay here and enjoy your own, private, self-contained guest suite on its own separate level, with two deluxe, double bedrooms for your exclusive use and sleeping up to 5 people. The space also offers a large, luxury bathroom, Book Nook, Pillow Bar and Kitchenette. Sit, dine and enjoy a drink at the “RR” Rooftop bar and admire the breathtaking beauty of the Surrey Hills. Guests can also enjoy the garden and sit on any of our three sun terraces and take in the views. Hikers and bikers, the area is renowned for having some of the best trails in the country. You can access these from our doorstep, quite literally! Just walk through our garden gate and you will find yourself straight on The Greensand Way which stretches some 108 miles!. You can walk/run/cycle through the most beautiful scenery. Even though we are surrounded by countryside, we are close to amenities. There is a shop and lovely pub just a five minute walk down the road. The charming market town of Dorking is just over a mile away with its arts and crafts shops, boutiques, art galleries, jewellers, eclectic vintage shops, antique stores and cafes and restaurants. We are also well placed for Heathrow and Gatwick, both less than 40 minutes away, and you can reach London, as well as the coast in just 50 minutes by car or train. The delightful chocolate box villages of Shere, Abinger Hammer and Gomshall are just a few miles away and there are plenty of other attractions nearby too including Denbies Vineyard, a micro brewery, trout farm, fishery, the Silent Pool gin distillery, 3 National Trust stately homes and gardens, and golf courses. Our goal with Ranmore Rise was to create somewhere where we would like to stay, bringing together the elements we have most enjoyed in other guest houses and hotels all over the world, genuine hospitality, attention to detail and extra special touches that make your stay in the Surrey Hills, a memorable and special one.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked to stay at the Ranmore Rise for two night in November 2023 on a bit of a whim. The weather had been awful lately which meant we hadn't manage to sneak in our usual autumnal hikes. The suite is in immaculate condition and consists of two double bedrooms, a small reduced height yoga room (we put our luggage there but the host mentioned that she has had families pitch an air mattress in the room), a luxuriously large bathroom and picturesque breakfast bar area with amazing views of the hills. The suite was extremely well equipped with thoughtful touches e.g. great bedding, linen, a good variety of pillow types, sweet treats, an ample selection of teas and coffees and posh toiletries. To those with infants or travelers who like to top up their visit with their own food, I would imagine the small mini fridge and the microwave tucked away in a little nook in the suite would be of interest. Our host Linda was fantastic and full of warmth with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the local area. We had initially decided to keep the weekend free and easy with just the one day hike planned but we were happy we took her recommendations to visit the nearby village of Shere and Box hill. The generous breakfast she served was extremely tailored to our needs and I must say we felt extremely pampered by her! I would gladly recommend a visit if you are visiting the area or, like us, were a family of Londoners wanting a quick and easy weekend retreat to recharge your batteries!

We had a delightful stay in the beautiful suite.  We all appreciated the comfortable beds, relaxing ambience, stunning views and great breakfasts. The suite had everything we needed and more! It was perfect for our family of four. We really appreciated Linda’s recommendations of things to do in the area. We have so enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of England. It was such a special stay for my birthday weekend- thank you so much!

Two friends and I stayed here following the Bacchus half marathon. Linda, the host, went out of her way to make us feel welcome with bubbly on ice and offering to arrange massages for us post run. The accommodation is immaculate, very tastefully furnished, and includes everything you could possibly wish for. The patio, and seating area inside, both have stunning far reaching views and luckily the good weather allowed us to sit outside to watch the sunset whilst enjoying our take away (recommend the Japanese take away katsu curry) and to eat the superbly cooked breakfast. Will definitely return if we do Bacchus again next year.

Went there as a base for a catchup with friends after a race. It's such a stunning house; kept immaculately and nothing was too much trouble for our host Linda. She went above and beyond, even treating us to a little suprise to celebrate our run. Breakfast was so lovely and well prepared. 10/10 and will be back if we are in the area again.

We were two, and spent three nights at Linda's. The space is quiet and bright, with lovely views all around. Cheery host Linda went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, including secretly dashing down to the shop to find some T for my G! She put together wonderful breakfasts, laden with pots of fresh berries, and country bread. Linda also runs bus tours, so can offer tips on special places to visit. Special mention to the bed linens, which were exceptional.

Staying at Ranmore Rise was perfect! It’s been 28 years since I was last in England and this was exactly the right house to bring my lovely wife, daughter, grandson and mother in law to meet my parents so that we could all stay together. The amazing location was beautiful and central to all the places we visited. The house was really comfortable and had everything we needed. Four generations of smiles! We will definitely be back when we visit again

We stayed at Ranmore Rise Retreat for a long weekend to celebrate my Dad’s 80th birthday. Everyone had the most amazing time at this beautiful holiday let. Everything you could ever want is here and we instantly felt at home! The views are exceptional overlooking the beautiful hills and the location is fantastic as you can head straight on to a trail from the garden gate and go for lovely walks. It is also close to all the local amenities and the nearest town is just over a mile away. We wanted to be able to entertain here and have our relatives over for a special birthday buffet and the property was perfect for this. The living room is really spacious with plenty of seating, a large dining table and a separate snug area and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Linda made us feel very welcome from the start & all the little touches made us feel at home; cozy bed linen, fresh flowers & a lovely, homely feel. We have created so many happy memories at this wonderful house. It was absolutely perfect and we had the BEST time there! We will definitely be back.

We had the pleasure of renting the whole of Linda's property for a month, due to renovations at our own home. Linda was extremely responsive and very helpful in our booking and was very flexible as we needed to extend our stay a little bit. The house is in a wonderful setting, has everything you could need for a short or extended stay and is extremely comfortable and peaceful. The views are spectacular, as are the walks available immediately out of the back garden. Would definitely recommend this rental, either as the whole property or the luxurious B&B suite. Linda is a wonderful attentive host who clearly cares about her guests, so fully recommend this property.
