It's exactly what you'd expect from the 3star hotel, the staff are so friendly, signing in and paying, locating the room was done so easily and in a jiffy - the rooms are amazingly spacious, the beds are incredibly comfortable etc. Had dinner at the restaurant and OMG the food was absolutely incredible, beautiful (had the valentines day mixed grill...

Had an overnight stay at hotel as we were eating at the Italian restaurant opposite, and did not wish to drive home after. The hotel itself has little to offer in the way of amenities, and the our room was tired with old decor and carpets. Fixtures and fittings were loose (toilet roll holder and a plug socket), the lighting...

Visited with my wife and two friends for lunch. Our waiter Michael was extremely helpful and efficient from start to finish. The food choice was good with a main menu, a lunch menu, and a seasonal menu as well. We had a voucher for a free starter or dessert with all main meals off the main menu which we used....

Overnight stay here as a treat however very disappointing, room was basic no frills, no toiletries, biscuits, one tea bag each and a plastic cup for drinking water from the tap and sadly not particularly clean and smelt of dog. They have obviously invested in the dining area rather than the accommodation. Would not stay here again and certainly not...

I had visited this pub for drinks before but not for a meal. This visit was post Christmas and the pub still had a roast dinner on the menu, which we ordered - the portion was huge! For dessert we had the chocolate brownie and a cheese board. The brownie was delicious - warm with vanilla ice cream and the...

Great food, brilliant service!!!! Had the Venison medallions. Perfect. Waiter was Michael, who was hands down the best waiter I've had all year (or ever), top notch! Happy New year to all the staff at Wheatsheaf! :)

Fantastic meal, a couple of items missing from menu but didn't detract from evening. Michael was brilliant, helpful and ensured everything went well. The menu gave plenty of options and the separate gluten free menu was excellent.

Celebrating New Year's Eve with friends , set menu was great, good options for gluten free. Really enjoyed the beautiful table decorations for the evening. The music provided good ambiance. Michael was really attentive, eager to please and helpful, with a hint of humor. Thanks

Well what a disappointment. When we went in is wasn't too busy, sat down, got our drinks and then ordered. We didn't want anything complicated just fish & chips, only to be told that there was no fish & chips. Back to the menu, ok, fish pie, sorry no fish pie, in fact no fish at all. Back to the...

On the 27th December, my partner and I stopped at this pub to have some lunch (baring in mind we new it would be busy due to the christmas period) however we thought we would chance it anyway! We managed to get a table for 2 people. After we had sat down, we waited almost half an hour to order...
