We visit here as there are few pubs within walking distance of VW but it's often with reluctance. The refurbishment is a vast improvement on the place, the pub warm and inviting and the staff friendly. But the food is terrible. I had a lasagne that was so hot and burnt underneath that even after half an hour it was...

When I checked in I was given Room 5 and woke up to find the shower didn't work. When I checked out next day the same receptionist said "Oh yes I knew that as it hasn't worked for several days. I don't think the shower in Room 10 works either. Its been reported but nobody has come to fix it...

On arrival, the restaurant was clean, welcoming and held a vintage yet modern aura. It is quite clear on arrival where you should wait to be seated. Contrary to other reviewers, we were greeted swiftly on arrival by a charming gentleman, Stephen, who I assume is the manager at the pub. He was very friendly and showed us to a...

Just got back from a 2 night stay at this little gem on the cusp of Windsor Great Park.  We arrived Saturday lunch time and met up with our friends.  We had lunch in the bar area which was very busy with a range of ages from families with young children to people who were out walking their dogs.  Dogs...

The festive duck is absolutely sublime! Beautiful dish served pink with all that you'd expect from a traditional roast! Would thoroughly recommend the Xmas Brownie with peanut butter icecream for dessert. Delicious. Service from a young guy called Jake was superb. 10/10 would go again!

I can highly recommend stopping at the Wheatsheaf Hotel for food and drinks It offers a stunning location on the edge of the park, with friendly staff and facilities. But, the mattress / bed in our room collapsed many years ago resulting in a uncomfortable evening throughout.

Nice pub, but the section we were taken to in the "restaurant" was dreadful no lighting and the wall paper!! We had a nice young man that took our order, and he was most helpful. Food wax ok, but not up to other chef and brewer standards Not sure if I would go to this one again in touch with

We stayed overnight Sunday after a Birthday buffet for about 50 people! The hot food supplied during the evening was excellent. The bar staff had a very busy evening. Our room which overlooked a busy traffic light junction was suprisingly quiet. The room was cold and the Aircon heat did not work neither did the electric heater. There was an...

Booked a table for 15 for a ladies lunch today but unfortunately whilst the food was good when we eventually appeared, the service was appalling. We had ordered our food by 12.15 pm but it did not arrive until after 1.00 pm and the deserts took another hour to appear. The waiter serving us could not have been more polite...

Lovely pub and great location being by Virginia Water lake, and have stopped off here many a time for a drink whilst cycling from London to Windsor, but on this occasion the visit was for a different reason, and not such a happy one. Whilst staying at a spa hotel locally, we dropped in after a morning walk for a...
