I am a regular visitor to this outstanding guesthouse. Firstly the owner, Rez. very welcoming, nothing is ever to much trouble, incredibly friendly so much so I now see him as a friend.

the rooms, compact but very comfortable, immaculately clean which given what we are going through is an absolute must. Tea, coffee and fridge in the rooms with plenty of power points with USB's to charge your phone. most importantly WIFI, very good unlimited use which was recently updated for even better connectivity.

Breakfast, these have always been top quality, now things are opening up again these are being served from the dining room and all I can say is this! if you are like me and enjoy a full breakfast to last you through the whole day, this is the place to stay, Bacon, Eggs, Tomato, Sausage, Beans, Toast, Fresh orange, Coffee, Cereal. it is all available.

Hand sanitizers on entry in to the property and entry in to the dining room, you will be asked to use them.

Whether you are staying here on business or as a base for your holiday, you won't be disappointed.

Staying at the Beechwood for business after starting back from the ongoing Covid 19 was always going to be a little nerve racking.

Really there was nothing to worry about, the owner Rez was the consummate host, polite, happy and passionate, there is hand sanitizer just inside the front door.

The room I had was on the small side but it was imaculate. Every day although I kept it tidy the room was always attended to, towels changed regularly.

The full breakfast is a must, coffee, fresh orange and breakfast cereals are available too, Rez is incredibly quick to attend to your needs. I was so impressed with the Beechwood I am returning two days after my visit for a second week.

From the moment we arrived at the Beechwood guest house, we felt very welcome. The owner, Rez, greeted us with a smile and throughout was very helpful, nothing at all was too much trouble. There are plenty of hand sanitizing stations around the house which is good in the current climate.
Our room, along with the rest of the house, was sparkling clean and the 2 nights we spent here were very comfortable. The WiFi was also very good too 🙂 Our Breakfast was lovely, with your order taken the night before meaning the food is hot and ready when we wanted it, which is great.
The beach and local amenities are only a couple of minutes walk away, which makes it ideal for exploring. All in all, a very comfortable stay and we would highly recommend staying here. 🙂 See you again soon Rez 🙂

We stayed at the Beechwood Guest House for two nights, for an Ed Sheeran concert in Sunderland (three of us, one of whom was a teenager). The guest house is located a 5-10 minute walk from the South Shields metro station and is on a busy road with plenty of restaurants. Free parking is available outside the guest house (no dedicated parking).
The road can be a bit noisy at night, as people make their way home from the pub.

The guest house itself is very clean and well run. The room is pleasant, the host is brilliant. My wife has a fairly severe perfume allergy, the gentleman who runs this establishment took the time to phone us before our stay to enquire how he could clean the room in a non-perfumed manner. This was much appreciated. He was attentive throughout. The breakfast is reasonably priced and was very good, again we were impressed with the hygiene shown.

Worth checking out if you need to stop over in South Shields. You can even walk to the beach in ten minutes!

Stayed at the guesthouse for 3 nights, whilst visiting family. Great location for all facilities in the area. Rez was a fantastic host and his breakfasts were better than some 4 star hotels we have stayed in. You can choose from a full English breakfast or have something from the light menu. Mushroom omelette was delicious as was the breakfast muffin, my husband had a full English on all 3 mornings Guest house was very clean, there is hand sanitizer as soon as you go into the house and also before going into the dining room.We will definitely be back Jim & Julie Park

My partner and I stayed in this lovely guesthouse for a couple of nights and we couldn’t fault it. It was very well located, the room was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfasts were perfect and great value for money, and the host was friendly, attentive and professional - he couldn’t do enough for us to make our stay even more enjoyable. We will definitely recommend the place and if we’re ever back in South Shields it will be our number 1 choice of places stay.

Stayed at Beechwood four nights late September 22. Guest house very clean and well run.Rooms very comfortable , beautifully decorated and of a high standard with everything you need for nights away from home.
Owner is great and nothing is too much bother, lovely man . Breakfast is available if you want it and is certainly value for money and would set you up for the day.
We stayed late September and had no issues parking outside the guesthouse.
Would recommend staying at Beechwood. Thank you .

This B&B is absolutely amazing. We stayed in room five which was perfect which also hosted a 45inch TV none of those tiny tv you can’t see.
The whole place is spotless and standards second to none .
Breakfast was the best ever and served hot and freshly cooked.
The orange juice was real fresh orange juice too .
You will not be disappointed staying at this little Gem of a place.
Forget about big hotels this place has it all.
Including free parking on the front xxxx
Thank you our stay was just wonderful.
We will be Back.
Best wishes

This is the second time I've stayed at this guesthouse. The rooms are Great for the money, with a warm and welcoming, friendly atmosphere. An owner who tries to go above and beyond for his guests needs, and a substantial, freshly cooked breakfast what more do you want. When visiting South Shields and its beautiful coast line.
