Add the title suggests, Maria & Joseph couldn't have been more hospitable. I had a single room, without TV, (check when booking if you want one. I didn't check but I also didn't mind as I was in the middle of a cycle ride and I just wanted a warm comfy bed). I was directed to the local pub, (10mins), but unfortunately their fryers were broken so they weren't doing hot food. That was a bit worrying, but asked directions to next establishment. Another 10 minutes later I had a cold Guinness in my hand and prawn starter and mixed grill on its way. Great sleep, (I was very tired mind you), despite the nearby railway. I heard trains while I was awake, but nothing overnight. Breakfast was ample. Full English with the start attraction being the locally made sausage. All in all a great stay. Thank you M & J.…
I arrived late evening (by prior arrangement) and was met very courteously and once signed-in I was shown to my room. I was able to make a drink from the welcome tray which included a chocolate biscuit (nice touch). As it was late I didn't use the free WiFi or the TV in the room. The bed was firm and comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. A delicious full English breakfast was served the next morning in the dining room where I met one other guest. As I was using The Cedars House as an overnight stop to break a journey I left immediately after breakfast. The stay had been easy to book online and communications with the owner, Joseph, prior to the stay to check my late arrival was OK had been quick and without any problems. I was at the property less than 10 hours, mostly in bed asleep, so I didn't have a chance to experience what it would be like for a long stay or get to know the Joseph. However, first impressions and my whirlwind stay were excellent and I will be revisiting whenever I need to stay in the area again. …
My brother and I stayed for just one night and booked 2 rooms, 1 room had a tv but the other did not. Both had tea and coffee making facilities and both rooms were clean and tidy, there was a shared bathroom which at first thought might be and issue but it was fine with everything appearing relaxed. Our host Joseph was friendly and welcoming with a sharp sense of humour, his wife was equally so. The property was easy to find with plenty of parking spaces in front. We ate an evening meal out at a local "pub" The Cornerhouse ..........excellent.....please see seperate review. Breakfast was included and was enough to set you up for the day, great conversation with Joseph's wife who was ready with more tea and coffee. At no point did we feel rushed or hurried so had a leasurely breakfast before leaving for the motorcycle show at the nearby NEC. Thank you both for a comfortable and friendly stay. David and Michael…
The owners and property were excellent, very welcoming and very clean. I had a single room and it had everything you need and very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and the owner was a lovely pleasant lady. Great value would not hesitate to recommend.
I stayed last night (wednesday). Warm comfortable room and bed. Exceptionally clean and excellent hosts. For breakfast it was cereal, toast and a full english breakfast with fresh hot coffee and fruit juice. Exceptional value with free parking. Well done from a very satisfied customer.
