Along with about 25 colleagues I attended a Christmas Party evening at The Rugby Hotel, the food was no better than average. The atmosphere was quite good but that was more to do with attendees than the hotel. Drinks were again on the expensive side and there was no table service, we had to go out to the bar to... More

I stayed in this hotel for one week in October. I came in the night and and got a room on the first floor. The room was old and very cold, but next day they gave me a small electric heater so the temperature was ok for me. Loud!!! every evening until 10PM there is a very loud music from... More

This is a very nice hotel with great potential, just a shame that Dave behind the bar will steel your money. Best advice is to give correct money, if you do not you will massively over pay for your drinks.

Booked a nights stay for business as close to location following day. The front and downstairs are lovely- feel of an old coach Inn, staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful which is always a plus. Nice bar and lounge area, and I suspect evening food will be nice, but there was literally no one in the bar, so headed off... More

I stayed in a single room at this hotel at the beginning of october for a party that I was going to in rugby. The entrance and communal areas of the hotel are lovely and well decorated. there is a cosy bar which is great for a quick drink before you go out. Also it is in the city centre... More

Booked and paid for a double room via work. On arrival was given a very small, single, grubby room. After squeezing into the very small shower realised there were no towels in the room at all (now do you go to reception in the buff dripping wet or wiggle around in the duvet to dry yourself? Short of time I... More

Stayed here for one night for work and would try and avoid returning. On the positives it's reasonably cheap and central... that's about it! Rooms: single room was small and dark, smelt of stale smoke and indeed had an overall funny smell and was a bit grubby. Toilet and shower very small and nowhere to put anything. Tiny TV. The... I like it here. I have stayed before in a single which wasn't good, but the double is better. I really like the bar and the food was good. It is centrally located, the staff are very friendly and helpful and it has a nice ambience. The only problem are the drink prices when it is located opposite a decent... More

Booked through work. So l got a single room. To say it's small is an understatement. On the plus side it clean and tidy and they do have tea and coffee making facilities. The bad bits, the shower is very small and after a quick shower it took 10 minutes to drain. But let's not dwell on negatives, the staff... More
