Draycote Hotel is favored for its amenities like the buffet breakfast and event spaces, although some guests suggest the rooms need modernizing and better lighting. While the rooms are considered clean and comfortable by many, the absence of air conditioning has been a point of contention. Despite this, the value for money is often highlighted, with the hotel's pricing deemed reasonable. Service at Draycote stands out, with staff members receiving accolades for their exceptional assistance. Furthermore, the hotel's atmosphere is celebrated for its welcoming vibe and lively events with a popular DJ.

Stayed here for one night on a Travelzoo offer, which was B & B with evening meal plus a bottle of bubbly.
Hotel is just off the A45 and we found the car park quite busy with golfers.

We were met at reception by Mia who we later found out, manages reception and the restaurant. Mia was really welcoming and checking in was easy. As things return to normal , it seemed that Mia performed many roles and she did this with a helpful nature, nothing was too much problem and worked hard to make the stay enjoyable.

The rooms are fine and were spacious, we were on the ground floor. Toiletries were supplied in the bathroom with coffee and tea tray supplied too. There were some things that could be improved but nothing a handyman couldn’t sort out once pointed out to the hotel.

Evening meal was just off reception. For the Travelzoo offer, you have a set menu or can chose off the main menu up to a value of £22, which was very easy to understand. A bottle of bubbly came with the offer and you could have that before or during the meal. The food was very cooked and plentiful.

The hotel was fairly quiet which was understandable for now starting back up after lockdown.

For breakfast, you order everything and it is brought to you. This is the new normal but the breakfast was beautiful and set you up for the day.

It was a great night stay for one night and easy to drive into Coventry. Draycote Water is nearby to visit for a walk. We went to the Dobbies Garden Centre which is down the road a little.

Would recommend.

We stayed recently for two nights on a travel zoo deal.

We were apprehensive due to the COVID restrictions and it was the first time we had been out to a hotel or a restaurant since lockdown restrictions. We needn’t have worried as the floors were clearly marked on arrival for social distancing and hand sanitizer was available to use. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly on reception. Our room was perfect for what we needed however my husband found the bed to be too soft, I on the other hand loved the softness. The room was extremely dark at night time which was great for my light sleeping husband.

We had two meals in the restaurant as part of the Travel Zoo deal which is a set menu. The portions were generous and so on the second night we didn’t have dessert as we were too stuffed (plus I’m pregnant and suffering with morning sickness so can’t eat much).

The lady who served us at breakfast and dinner time was absolutely lovely. She made us feel so welcome and was so helpful. We was so happy with the service we were provided with.

I’d happily stay again.

My only problem would be that we saw a dog walk into a room a few doors down; if we’d have been next to that room and heard barking then I wouldn’t have been happy but that is merely an observation.

Please bear in mind that we normally place guests with dogs further away from other guests. Additionally, the room is deep cleaned after departure. On this occasion it was a guide dog. Firstly this hotel is part of the draycote golf complex,so this means that there is nowhere really to walk too .
there are a few minor points ,tv is a bit small for the size of the room, lighting is not greatest in the rooms and no menu for breakfast.
when we found this deal we did realise that things would be different because of corvid
the deal we found was amazing value even had an allowance for dinner (there is even a menu that will allow you to have a 3 course meal with the dinner allowance !!)

were the draycote really excels is in the evening meal menu some very unusual combinations which work very well
evening meals highly recommended !!
to some up very good base from which to tour around from.

Dear Mark, Thank you for taking the time to comment your stay with us! Yes, The Draycote Hotel & Whitefield's Golf Club are one entity. Draycote Water is on our doorstep and offers various recreational facilities. We are going to be renovating our rooms and will also be providing upgrades facilities which will include larger TV's. Due to the current situation, we are limited in providing a breakfast buffet as we used to. Nevertheless we appreciate your positive comments on our food offering! It would be a pleasure welcoming you back should your travel plans permit. Kind regards Philip

I’ll start by saying that the staff were more than happy to help us and we have no issue with the service.

However the room we were in wasn’t very well taken care of. The carpet had pieces cut out, there were marks on the wall with cracked outdated paint. We also had a really unpleasant drain smell in the room for hours. In addition the breakfast costs £15 per head which is ridiculously overpriced.

While the hotel itself is a great location the rooms seriously need updating as premiere inn offers nicer facilities for less money.

thank you for your comments and feedback. We are aware some of the rooms are in need of some TLC and we have already embarked on a thorough refurbishment of our bedroom stock. A prototype will be completed this weekend with the intention to roll out to all bedrooms in the coming months and weeks. You will notice a transformation at Draycote Hotel in the near future. On your next visit, I suggest you choose the breakfast inclusive option for optimal value. £15.00 is the a la carte option and in our view in line with what you expect to pay for a full English Breakfast.

Amazing staff brilliant food immaculate clean and well decorated hotel nothing was to much trouble and all the staff from the initial greeting at the reception on arrival to the bar staff and Ian who was so good at his job overseeing and running the restaurant facilities in the evening and all the breakfast staff who served a great freshly cooked breakfast well done to the chef and his staff.

Felt that the hotel management and all its staff operated a safe and secure environment during difficult times for hospitality venues.

Enjoyed my break away and hope that this review will encourage others to support UK hotels it was only a short drive from our home but lots of places locally we had never been to before# Stratford upon Avon # Draycote Water

We, 4 friends spent 2 nights at the hotel and had a great time. Check in very easy and rooms great size and very clean.
We were there on a deal which included dinner, good choice of all 3 courses, very efficient staff and very polite. The restaurant manager Ian, was very professional making sure everyone was happy with their meal and making sure all plates were quickly cleared away, nothing was too much trouble for Ian and his staff.
Would definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you are a golfer as it has it's own course.

We visited the Hotel on mothers day for an afternoon tea. We pre-booked and the hotel were helpful in finding a child friendly option for our daughter who is dairy intolerant.
When we arrived staff were very attentive and offered us alternatives to that on the menu if they weren't too our taste.
The food was fresh and tasty and we felt very good value and we even left with a doggy box !
Would definitely recommend and cant wait to return

My wife and I had to visit Rugby due to a family bereavement. I contacted other hotels in the area but they were unable to help us. The Draycote staff listened to my request, confirmed it met government guidelines and offered to help us. On arrival it was apparent the hotel was being run with very few staff due to very few guests but this did not detract from a most friendly helpful reception. Our room while a little dated was clean, warm and comfortable, traffic noise from the nearby A45 was minimal. Covid19 precautions were well adhered to. Breakfast was served in our room, very good quality and quantity. There were a couple of very minor things I spoke the manager Phillip about which he put right straight away, no confrontation, thanked me for my observations, he was a delight to talk to. Emma on reception and the chef deserve mention for making us feel that any request we had was no trouble at all.

We stayed on a three night break here, and were very happy we had decided to stay here. First impressions, the building looked attractive from the outside, on going to reception we were met by a friendly and helpful receptionist. This set the scene, we found that throughout our stay the staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room, one of the standard rooms, was spacious, clean and comfortable with a big, comfortable (firm mattress) bed. An over-bath shower with reasonable pressure and hot water available. Coffee facilities, and a TV
The menus were, probably because the hotel is emerging from Covid restrictions, not extensive, but, the food we had was very good. The chef uses good quality ingredients to make enjoyable meals. None of cost cutting you sometimes find where poor quality produce is used to save money. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

There is a golf course at the hotel, I'm not a golfer, but I've already told a neighbour who is a keen golfer about it, it would be an ideal location for a golf break.

Firstly the car park was extremely dark. I arrived late and had found the car park quite full (turned out there was s wedding), it was such a hassle looking for a space because it was just so dark.

Lobby looked nice but nobody at reception. I stood there waiting and a lady in and out the bar saw me but did not react. It was only about 5 minutes into standing there at reception I noticed a tiny little bit of paper saying to go to the bar. But the lady who saw me waiting at reception really could have told the receptionist to come back to serve me.

Whilst lobby looked very nice, the room was small and quite basic, looks almost like a youth hostel type of style. Odd shaped cupboard spaces that were useless.

There was a stain on the douvet cover. But by the time I saw the stain I was so tired that I just had to rearrange the bedding. Very off putting.

Walls are so thin I could hear next door snoring. There was a wedding on the same night and I could hear vibration from the function room.

Shower was just dribbling and the position of the shower head meant the it cannot be adjusted, the water was just dribbling onto the dial which was in the way, and it was almost impossible to have a shower as the water was so weak and just dribbled on the dial. A bucket to collect the water could have done a better job, but it would take too long.

For the type of room I had, £80 room only rate was expensive.

I have been asked to respond to this question by Trip Advisor, although I'm not quite sure why as I was only a guest at the hotel (June 2014). However, it was the day of my daughter's wedding and everything was perfect! The hotel staff were attentive, efficient and the food was very good - in fact we could not have wanted for more. It's not fair to assume that all wedding guests will give a good review because they will enjoy the day anyway. In my book, if the reception had been lacking in the slightest way - I would have been very upset indeed. My advice to you is this: send a letter to the Managing Director of the hotel group. That will soon prompt a response!
