As a lone female traveller, I really didn't feel safe in the rear car park - totally unlit, really didn't feel safe at all to walk through.
The room itself was basic, sink had no plug so couldn't fill it, bed was rock hard.
On check in the staff weren't all that helpful, no indication given to check times, breakfast etc. Hoses running along the path dumping hot water out.
The whole place just feels tired and very dated.

Never walked into hotel with such gloomy and depressing environment. The reception team members are clueless and have serious attitude problems. We stayed in many hotels around the country and this is one of the worst we have chosen to stay in unfortunately. Its a shame they use Ramada branding to sell their rooms as I have stayed in Travelodge and premier Inn, holiday inn etc and did not have a single complaint.

Now the room, as soon as we walked in it had nicotine odour which was unpleasant. Every single furniture in the room was broken or peeling off including the laminated floor which was chipped and almost cut my foot.

One positive I can say is that the cleanliness of the room was better than expected.

Dear Management,

Please train your front office staff on how to treat customers where its face to face or over the phone. Appalling behaviour and very unprofessional.

Thank you

It sells itself as ‘luxury’, it’s not! Still good value for a ‘budget’ hotel and I dare say it was once luxurious but now tired and in need of a revamp.

Parking is very limited and often always full.

If one individual smokes in their room, the entire alarm system disturbs everyone, no matter what time.

It boasts a restaurant but no sign of one!

There was a cigarette burn in our dresser and the headboard was torn.

Reception failed to tell us that we have to go to reception each day to reactivate the room key, so three fools errands later and a moan, we’re informed that we must do this ritual every day!

Given all this, it was good value for a budget and I suggest you don’t expect anything more than a budget hotel.

Do yourself a favour an spend another 40 quid an stay at far better options close by. This is far from any Ramada I’ve ever stayed at. Firstly the room stunk of stale smoke, smoking burns all over furniture, looked like a hostel. I asked to be changed rooms, which they are clearly use to as never questioned it, next room was a slight improvement. The cleanliness would not be suitable for an animal it was vile we didn’t use the shower as you would be scared to catch something.
All the furniture is old, rotten, ruined, the bed was cheap mattress, I dare look under the sheets.
The bathroom chrome has mildew everywhere.
This was not the worse part, couldn’t get to sleep as the noise from banging doors, cars, was going on all night. Then about 3am a party of drunks continued to party very loudly disturbing guests till about 6, till a fight broke out between rooms, then the fire alarm went off, just don’t bother with this place it’s clearly used for people to do what they like, weed, crack an to know what else .
It had a very unsafe feeling to it an they have the nerve to have the reception looking classy with a chandelier yet the rest of the place is the pits!

After the hassle of the hotel cancelling our booking for no reason we eventually go our booking reinstated. Staff were so rude to deal with about this issue. Being that they were at fault we didn’t even receive an apology for the inconvenience. If it wasn’t for the fact most hotels were sold out we wouldn’t have rebooked due to their appalling attitude.

The rooms were clean but the furniture was broken, drawers hanging off the desk, wall lights didn’t work so the room was dark and the mattress springs were poking out leaving the bed exceedingly uncomfortable. I did advise the front desk of the lights not working but no action was taken. They did offer us a free drink then tried to charge us when we redeemed them! The hairdryer blew up when using and stopped working all together. The cleaners had left the previous guests toiletries in the bathroom and clearly hadn’t cleaned. The flush button was hanging off the wall. Absolute disgrace of a hotel.

Working in the travel industry I Expected more from the Ramada hotel. Would not recommend at all and will be sure to avoid booking for my own clients

Me and my girlfriend stayed here as a quick last minute booking, to visit the Christmas markets. It’s safe to say we will never be returning. Luckily it was only for 1 night, otherwise we would have left and stayed elsewhere! The room was shocking. The mould in the shower was absolutely vile, there were stains on the headboard, holes in the wall, door handles hanging off and floorboards that weren’t even fit for purpose. Not to mention our pathetic excuse of a ‘radiator’. The corridors walking up to our room absolutely stunk of weed which made us realise, the room probably wasn’t much better. We asked reception if they had any other rooms but they were apparently ‘fully booked’, weren’t apologetic at all and didn’t even offer any kind of help. 1 star is definitely 1 too many for this disgusting hotel!

Stayed here recently, after reading previous reviews was a bit sceptical. On arrival, reception staff pleasant and hotel looked ok. Got keycard and went to room which was on level 3, through doors at reception to lift all I could smell was a pungent smell of cannabis and continued up to level 3. Over the 2 days this was all we could smell in these areas. Clearly this was overlooked by staff, how I will never know. Early Sunday morning the fire alarm went of at 6.20 and as we evacuated again all I could smell was cannabis so clearly it’s being smoked in rooms which in my mind set of the alarms.
On a positive the food and room was pleasantly surprisingly good value for money, I have to say the burgers were great value. Breakfasts again were really well set out with buffet style and all you can eat, couldn’t fault this one bit. Would I stay here again, yeah I probably would but they will need to sort out the issue of allowing cannabis smoking in rooms.
Good hotel for the money as we booked early and got cheaper deals, following week it tripled in price and I would have been rather miffed to had paid too price for our stay based on the smell.

I need to stay in the area and wanted a reasonable price for a hotel close to the customer site I needed to visit. I chose the Ramada by Wyndham as have used these in the past and working on the same principle as Holiday Express, Premier Inn, that they will all be of a similar standard.

On arrival my spirits dropped - from the outside it doesnt look imposing (a tad shabby really). There was plenty of parking available. Reception and the lobby was at opposites with the exterior - very clean and appealing. Check in was quick and efficient.

The room was clean with a couple of minor issues (curtains not fitting correctly, loose light fitting). I didnt report these as I was only there 1 night.

I didnt use the bar or restaurant so no comment there.

Overall, OK for the price I paid but probably wouldnt stay again

I’d never book this hotel again !!

This is the most stressful hotel I have ever stayed in.

The reception confirmed I had a booking, took my payment, got me to sign forms then gave me a key to a room on the third floor. I asked where the lift was and he said oh I’m so sorry, the lift is not working. One of the staff said I’ll show you the way and help with your bags. After climbing 7 flights of stairs I asked why emergency engineers hadn’t been called. He said the lift hadn’t been working since Friday (bear in mind I’m checking in on a Saturday night).

I went back downstairs to the reception and notified them that I was asthmatic and needed a room on a lower floor. 7 flights of stairs was not manageable. They informed me that they were full. However, they could give me a full refund and I could go and find a room elsewhere at 9pm at night.

They were not compliant with meeting the needs with someone who had a disability and demonstrated no urgency in resolving the dilemma.

I was anxious all night as I knew I would have to go down and up again twice before leaving, because I couldn’t carry my bags in one trip.

We stayed here in 2020 & were happy with the room so we booked again, what a mistake that was!

Arrived & given key to room 12 on the ground floor. The toilet was filthy, the ceiling was bowed near the door & there was no plug in the sink! I went straight back to reception to request another room.

2 members of staff accompanied me back to the room, took a quick look, advised me they would have a word with housekeeping, the gentleman advised the bowed ceiling was a problem in the ground floor rooms, (it looked like it was about to collapse). He then took me along to room 4, also ground floor. He did apologise & said the hotel was full, the car park was full of mainly vans & cars so I assume lots on workmen use the hotel as its 2 minutes drive from the M5.

After he left, I noticed the toilet was also stained, the shower ceiling was black with bubbling paint, the curtain was hanging off as the hook was broken, the recess of the window was black & the skirting boards were absolutely filthy! The ceiling as room 12 was bowed, but not as bad!

Checked out 6.45am, after 3 night stay, had to post the key card in a box as no one was on reception. I emailed the hotel when I arrived home that same day to complain & here we are, 12 days later with no reply.

In my opinion, there are far nicer places to stay in the area, don't waste your hard earned money on this dive! Its really gone downhill since our stay in 2020!

I would be surprised if it did not there are bus lanes running all the way into the city centre from the hotel v busy with buses

Not too sure on that one. I left about 9 and had breakfast about 8.15. Seemed to be quite busy at that time. A lot of business people stay there so breakfast can be a pretty busy between 7.00 and 8.00.
