We wanted a relaxing spa weekend and that’s exactly what we got. South Lodge is full of history, but all that does not lead to compromise in any way. Our room was massive with its own sitting living areas, 2 TVs and a downer full view into the estate. The amenities and comfort level were so good I’d have been happy staying in the whole time. The spa facility is wonderful with a wide range of pools. Nearly fell asleep by the pool because of how calming it was. Meanwhile the service and staff are top notch from the moment we stepped into the hotel. Dinner and breakfast at the Camelid was very lovely, and the team and particular our server Lucas were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. What a wonderful setting, new meets old, with stunning scenery that allows you to truly relax, but remain active. I enjoyed the charm and architecture of the original building and how the modern additions blended in with great taste. The Spa is an absolutely lovely place to be, modern and stylish, serving a very modern menu that doesn't make you feel guilty after doing some exercise. I like the ecological aspect of the spa building, the aim to reduce waste with no miniatures but great quality toiletries, you can see the spa is a wonderful modern design that doesn't interrupt the views from the terrace. The billiard bar was a lovely place for a drink, I relaxed into the chair and sipped a cocktail. Service and staff knowledge were fantastic. I want to go to The Pass restaurant in the future, looked like a wonderful setting with the views into the kitchen for a very exciting experience. I will be back. …

There’s not one bad thing I can about this spa. It’s stylish, upmarket, clean, attention to detail throughout. The service is impeccable, and if you need somewhere to really recharge and reset then here is the place. I went for a day with a member, and it was absolute heaven. The salt water steam room was my favourite, so utterly relaxing, the pools are fantastic and the changing rooms are like a five star hotel. We had lunch which was incredible, wonderful flavours and freshly cooked, the staff could not do enough for us. It’s no surprise it’s so popular, can’t wait to go back.

South Lodge is a place I love to revisit and it gets better every time. The facilities are amazing and when you add the friendly and knowledgeable staff it's truly a wonderful experience. My room had the stunning South Downs view which was a joy to wake up to and something I would recommend. Lunch at the Botanica was delicious and dinner at The Pass was a meal I will not forget. I did the wine flight which added so much to each dish, and the whole team looked after us so well. I would definitely recommend dining there if you can. Another fabulous trip and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

A great country hotel hidden away, with a variety of restaurants/bar to choose from. Breakfast was lovely and the spa very relaxing! Shout out to Viv and Lucas who made our stay that little more special! Our room was huge and had a excellent view, with the bathroom being very nicely equipped!

my daughter and I went her in September to get have some mum-daughter bonding time and so I wanted it to be special. I found this hotel and spa slightly at odds in design, but not in a bad way, and all in all, special is exactly what we experienced here. our room in the hotel was a HUGE corner twin room just for me and my daughter. warm and comfortable and lots of lovely little touches like molten brown toiletries, lovely tea and coffee facilities, and a tv in the bathroom where there were 2 roll top baths, wasted on us but lovely none the less. the decor is slightly old fashioned in a dated way, not a vintage way, felt like this throughout the hotel public areas, maybe needs refurbed to be more modern?. the bar restaurant and the main restaurant downstairs (sorry cant remember the names) were also slightly dated in design (more so in the bar), but having said that the food was absolutely superb! and the waiting staff were so naturally friendly.. the spa - what can I say - totally the opposite in design, very modern, yet with a warm welcoming feel - the service, treatments, pools, etc here were just marvellous and really cant fault them at all - I think we spent the majority of our weekend here in our robes and slippers! we also ate here in the botanic restaurant twice and it was so good, absolutely delicious and yet another style of cuisine offered by the hotel. my daughter and I didn't want to leave, and we cant wait to get back again sometime in the spring! the gym looked great too but we forgot our gym bag so alas didn't get to use it or the fitness classes on each day.…

Delicious afternoon tea! The food was truly out of this world. So many different teas to choose from too. The staff were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble and the grounds are absolutely stunning, I definitely felt spoilt…a fabulous way to spend my 40th birthday!

I stayed at South Lodge with a friend for my Birthday recently. The Hotel is Stunning. Staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble. The Spa is lovely. I had an amazing facial and massage with Rosie, she was very knowledgeable and friendly. The Breakfast and the food in the Botanica Restaurant were Beautiful. Such a lovely Birthday Treat. Can't wait to go back!

From the minute we arrived to the minute we left the whole experience was incredible. The room, the food, the breakfast and the spa were all amazing. I’ve never had nicer mushrooms on toast in the botanical restaurant! Every single staff member of staff we interacted with were just so lovely and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Amelia in the spa gave me the nicest treatment I’ve ever had. My skin has been glowing ever since. It was the most wonderful birthday treat and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Amazing! I have stayed for two nights recently and I can't find the words to describe how lovely my stay was. I do not speak English but everyone made sure I feel relaxed and welcomed and even learned how to say Hello in Polish :) Extra touches from a bottle of bubbles in the room on check in to the piped plate after dinner made me feel very special! We had dinner in the Camelia restaurant which was the best I've ever had! The hotel is stunning! The room was spacious and beautiful and the bed very comfortable! My hot stone massage was amazing and my therapist Rosie very helpful. The spa is breathtaking. I loved how connected to the nature it felt! I can't wait to visit again!
