We loved our time at Verana- a wonderful boutique hotel in the jungle away from everything. The hotel is reached by boat and there's a fairly steep climb to the property, but it's worth it. The staff at Verana is there to please and the accommodations and food are excellent. We stayed in the Tea House and loved it. Our... More

I needed to get away and spend 5 nights in the middle of nowhere, and this was the perfect spot. Stayed in the Bungalow first night and after in the Tea House. Living area was worth the extra cost but location of plunge pool made it awfully cold in the Tea House (sun never shines on it). The grounds are... More

My wife and I visited Verana in 2008, stayed in the Bungalow, and were blown away with how special the place was - unique in its character and absolutely gorgeous, with a friendly, courteous staff. We decided to return this year and were a bit apprehensive that it wouldn't be as special a trip this time around. We were wrong.... More

We just returned from a week at Verana. We stayed in the Tea House. This was an amazing property. The attention to detail was fantastic, everything was so well cared for and meticulous. The staff was great, they were all so friendly and willing to go above and beyond to assist with any request. Jorge, Eric, and Chantelle deserve special... More

My partner and I spent one week in the Tea House at Verana. Before Arrival: Communication with the hotel was easy and reliable. Any inquiry I had was addressed in a timely fashion--including my last minute inquiries around toiletries (they have shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a salt scrub, lip and face moisturizer and lotion). Arrival/Departure: We set up the car... More

Verana and Value - NOT synonymous. I mean...who wouldn't gladly pay $100.00 for 5 tacos right? The allure of Verana will always be the combination of a remote romantic location, seductive elegant rooms and the feeling that you are far from civilization, yet somehow civilized. When you first hear about Verana you immediately envision yourself lost in a tropical paradise.... More

Really, though, I requested a mule (I wasn't feeling well) and they sent one down to greet me. The steps within the resort are many, but they weren't overwhelming, even if you're not in perfect shape. Plus, after all the great food, that bit of exercise was actually kind of welcome. The staff is extremely kind and very helpful. The... More

Overall, Verana is a place where you can alternate between your trustiest hiking boots and your prettiest sun dress. Perfect. The decor of the entire property is artistic and eclectic - like everything else about Verana it boasted a very curated, yet easy vibe. Very special and not at all fussy. My fiance and I stayed 3 nights in the... More

After finally booking our trip in September of 2015 I had an ample 5 months to research (obsess) over the many photos, reviews and write-ups about Verana. I was not disappointed. In fact, our trip was better than I possibly could have dreamed up over the past 5 months of anticipation. The staff is amazing (hello to Judy, Chantrelle, Jorge,... More
