Thoroughly enjoyed our private spa suite looking out over mossy green forest. The right mix of rustic yet all we could have wanted. Great digital detox 3 course meal at Highlander topped off an amazing day of hiking, massages and cheese and wine tasting

Omiosh what indulgent luxury. Complimentary items like a glass of port, cheese platter and chocolates were unexpected and a delightful surprise. Lovely views of the river from the room, fireplace and spa made the cabins really special. Staff are amazing. It broke the bank for us to stay here but was worth the indulgence, you need to spoil yourselves now...

On arrival we were a bit disappointed with the look of the place - the reception area looks a bit tired but staff were friendly enough. We had a Billy suite which was fabulous...we had a log fire in the centre of the room, which I must say was needed as despite it being Summer it was pretty cold. We...

Great stay, great location, wonderful room hard to fault, staff performed adequately, except for one person they didn't look particularly happy to be there. Maybe some smile stickers to remind them to smile would help!

We thought we'd be squashed in like sardines - 2 adults and two teenage children in one Pencil Pine Cabin (35) but there was ample room for lounging about and playing cards, board games etc - which you will need to bring as there is no T.V. There is abundant wildlife literally outside your window and the most beautiful walks,...

We loved our stay. The pencil pine cabin was large and cosy with a nice gas heater. The shower was great. The Highland restaurant was like a ski lodge look and very tasty. Best of all, this place is within the national park. How lucky can you get? 1,000 year old King Billy pines, spectacular waterfalls, deep, layered, ancient ecosystems...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and sad to say that we were most disappointed with the experience. We both agreed that it's a mix between Kellermans ( think along Dirty Dancing resort) and your worst ever school camp and you pretty much have an idea... I'll start with the positive - Location and staff & that's...

We love the Cradle Mtn area and have done a number of the long Tasmanian walks such as the Overland Trail over the years. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is a unique wilderness experience, set right on the edge of the spectacular World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, just 2 hours drive from Launceston and 1.25 Hours from Devonport. At Cradle Mountain, you'll soon discover that fine food and wine are an unavoidable part of this rustic holiday. This superb escape showcases the best Tasmania has to offer with warm hospitality, sensational locally produced food and wine, breathtaking scenery and magnificent wilderness surrounds. The Lodge itself is warm and inviting with open fires, comfy chairs and cosy spots, perfect for enjoying the postcard views or just relaxing. Around Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge there are more than 20 walking trails that suit every fitness level. Imagine wandering through towering forests with trees older than mankind. Discover animal and plant varieties found nowhere else on earth. You can trek mountains, explore trails on horseback or mountain bike, and learn to fly-fish - just some of the many activities on offer. And when it's time to relax, guests can indulge in a therapeutic massage or sauna at the Waldheim Alpine Spa - the perfect place to soak away tension and time. Set discreetly within its pristine wilderness setting, Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge has 86 private timber cabins, offering 4 grades of accommodation. Each provides every comfort you could need, some with spa baths. Road Closures: There are a number of road closures around Tasmania at the moment that are affecting accessibility to Cradle Mountain. The Kimberley bridge in between Elizabeth town and Railton on the B13 is closed until further notice as the bridge has collapsed. The C138 from Mole Creek to Gowrie Park is inaccessible as the road has been closed due to the recent flooding. The C137 however from Mole Creek through Paradise just outside of Sheffield is open and a good way to bypass around the closures.
