Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Luckily our hosts at the Russell Falls Cottages alerted us to the possibility of dining at the National Park Hotel, as there is no other dinner option close by.
Apart from the welcome convenience of not having to prepare our own meals, our visits to the hotel for dinner over three evenings, allowed us to enjoy the generous hospitality of Amy, Tony and their staff at the hotel. The care-factor is very high indeed. And the meals are delicious, generous and well-priced. We tried several items on the menu and were never disappointed.
If you're there on a Friday evening, there's even live music!
Rooms are no longer available, however there is a camping option outside.

Called in on the spur of the moment for lunch. Service was very quick and very pleasant. Quite a limited menu and we felt the choices were rather expensive; $14.95 for dessert! We both had the fish and chips with a small side salad. Chips were amongst the best I've ever tasted, fish was beautifully cooked and the side salad very tasty. A really good meal, but for $26 per serve, I felt that it was overpriced. I doubt I will return, despite the excellent service.

We discovered this hidden secret last night. The new owners were delightful and the Angus beef burgers sensational. The kids played chess while we waited and we warmed ourselves by the fire. After dinner we played pool for 60 cents and songs on the juke box. We also met the beautiful pub dog Pablo.

The rooms are fairly simple. Bathrooms are shared. It is very close to Mount Field national park. Rooms are very quiet at night. The pub and restaurant close at about 9PM. There is plenty of parking. There is no one at the reception in the moring, you just leave the key on the door

Publicans of this Hotel so much effort into doing at this classic Australian hotel. We had such fun on Australia Day! They served good food, a wide variety of drinks and it’s the cleanest country pub I have ever been in.
The publicans who I don’t know by name bent over backwards to make us in enjoy our Australia Day.
We just heard this great music rom our campsite and just followed the music to the Hotel.

Tremendous pub - great pizzas and selection of beers and wine. Hosts are incredibly friendly and have created a top spot to wind down with a beer and pizza after a day out walking. There is a nice local vibe here in the main bar blended with a pleasant dining area with roaring fire.

Wonderful staff. A quaint hotel that has new bedding, furniture, paintwork, artwork. The rooms are very clean and the bed very clean and comfortable. Heater in the room, lovely and warm. Bathrooms are shared, very clean. It is very close to Mount Field national park. Rooms are very quiet at night. Last dinner order about 8pm. if you get the 'big room' you are in for a surprise at the largeness of it. Tea/coffee kitchen so you can fill your flask.

Stopped off here for drinks one afternoon after walking in the Mt Field National Park. Heaps of parking and very quiet when we visited and oozing atmosphere. We enjoyed ice-cold beers at the timber bar. A lovely old fashioned lounge area. Food and accommodation on offer here as well. Well worth a visit. And for the movie buffs (me!) it has a claim to fame being a location featured in the movie "The Hunter" filmed in Tasmania.

We stopped by the National Park Hotel after a day at exploring Mount Fields national park. It’s a hidden gem. The locals, the bar staff and the owners were all so inviting and friendly. The atmosphere was great. We sat by the fire eating a perfectly cooked steak with a local beer and red wine. The feeling from this place was worth its weight in gold. We didn’t want to leave. The beer garden would be great during the day. The accomodation looks great and had we known it was available we would have stayed here in an instant. We recommend stopping by.

Stopped for lunch and had a great meal. Staff were friendly. It was a cold day and the wood fire was very welcoming. Good tradiitional pub with great food and friendly staff. Ham steaks were perfect. Stop in if on a visit to Mount Field National Park just 2 mins drive past the entrance to the park.
