We stayed two wonderful nights at the Inn, and Lydia was a perfect host in this heritage property. Parking is on the street but just a short walk to the rooms on a level above the dining room and display area/museum. The room was lovely, with all amenities thoughtfully provided and a squeaking floor. However the gem here is the collection of artefacts, crockery etc that have been accumulated over many years. Don't miss the huge dolls' house! And they love to receive direct bookings.

Stopped in here while cycling the Tassie Trail. The new owners are incredibly hospitable and the rooms are charming. But the real show stopper was the breakfast. Vegan and vegetarians are very well catered for with coconut yoghurt, stewed plums and granola, sourdough toast with spread, plus home make beans with salad and a mountain of avocado.

Enjoyed the stay, historical building, old world charm in New Norfolk.
BUT not wheel chair friendly, parking in the street on a steep hill, challenging access.
Host was accommodating & friendly, cooked a nice breakfast for a person with type 2 diabetes.

I stayed here for one night whilst visiting my dad at a local nursing home. The room was beautiful and clean with everything I needed. Bed was super comfortable and I was made to feel very welcome. The new owners were friendly and very accommodating and the Old Colony Inn will be my first preference for future visits.

Last minute booking and Lydia was very kind. A very old fashioned,
Old style decor inn but the service was lovely from Lydia and included breakfast. Easy walk into town to eat dinner at the Shanghai Chinese - recommended by Lydia. Lovely short walk down to the Derwent river and a beautiful early morning walk along the river amongst majestic old trees.

A very quaint and very old inn with beaut rooms furnished with period and antique style furnishings. Rooms are spacious and moderately quiet with a little passing traffic. The antiques collection is not for sale but well worth the look with some very interesting pieces.
Owners, Lydia and James have a very appealing and comforting charm.

Had a one night stay here, Old Colony Inn is an older building with courtyard close to the town centre of New Norfolk. Lydia, the host, was very welcoming and chatty, and showed us around. There are a lot of antiques and curiosities around the place, which are interesting to look at and look to be dated throughout Australian history. Don't let that put you off the rooms though, as they're very spacious, and comfy if slightly kitsch. Breakfast was also generous portions, cooked or continental and very delicious. Good value for money, and a worthwhile stay - highly recommended.

The host, Lydia, comes from Essex in UK so we had a specially warm welcome as fellow Brits. Every aspect of the place is unique, from its setting within an antiques business and heritage home (open to public) to the complimentary port and sherry decanters in each of the three rooms. Breakfast choice is continental or cooked buffet (bacon, eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, toast). The main street is in easy walking distance but for your evening meal there is a good local pub. We had the biggest smile of our stay from the notice on the outside of our bedroom door, "Smokers will be severely beaten around the head and shoulders" - better than the usual bland "Thank you for not smoking."

Based on Tripadvisor reviews, we booked in to this quaint, unique B & B for 3 nights in January. On arrival we were immediately surrounded by a plethora of antiques, historical documents, and items sourced from convicts. Quite different from most B & B's in Australia.

Our room was quiet and comfortable with many nice touches, including the free sherry and port. we enjoyed a good night's rest and enjoyed the breakfasts each morning. Breakfast can be either be a 'full English breakfast'or a continental breakfast and the coffee was good too. Lydia, our host, appreciates good, fresh food and knows how to prepare it! Her meals were a delight! Nothing was too much trouble and Lydia was sensitive to the needs of each guest. Do give this B & B a visit if you are in the vicinity.

After many so-called B&B experiences, this one sets the standard.

Old-world charm mixed with well appointed rooms and a welcoming vibe is refreshing.

The decor is.... Eclectic, a mix of antiques and curiosities makes this place an attraction in itself.
