It is 4 star and a very reasonable price. Not like some that claim to be 4 star and not there cottages are 4 star and a price that is correct for the area. Very nice view on the water and easy to get to all attractions.

We were booked into the 'Retreat' for 3 nights, not really sure knowing what to expect...what a treat! The bedroom had a super comfortable bed with the option of 3 softness levels of pillow for each person - this is better than some so-called 5 star hotels; and just as exciting were the electric blankets. The super-soft robes made the...

We had a very nice new unit beside the sea. Our room was very well appointed, with just about every comfort you could wish for, including electric blankets. Stanley is a very old small town, with lots of style, and the motel fits in unobtrusively. You can dine at the next door Stanley at the Bay restaurant for dinner, and...

We chose the Retreat, a little one bedroom cottage next to the main motel building. The door is only 30 feet from the sea wall - perfect. Great spot in summer or winter. Fully fitted out with quality appliances. Plenty of towels and quality bathroom products supplied - wonderful dos bath. There is a slight musty smell so perhaps a...

The waterfront position of the Village certainly was our drawcard and we were not disappointed. The room was good with great facilities available. The location of the Village is in walking distance of the 'Nut' chairlift and walking tracks, and very close to the lovely shopping area and restaurants in this beautiful town. Breakfast was supplied in the dining area...

We have spent more than 8 or 9 days over two trips - in the same upstairs room - on the corner. Beautifully thought out in all detail (except for the steps) if one has heavy suitcases - or a drink or two after dinner.! However you could easily select a ground level room. Owners think of everything - glasses...

We stayed two nights at the Stanley Village Motels and were very impressed. A warm welcome on arrival and eating out options described . Our room was spacious with a great view out to the sea. Spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast in a refurbished Railway Station was excellent and fun seated among the memorabilia of bygone days,...

Clean well maintained rooms and a decent continental breakfast, with good Wifi. Property backs onto a beach, but far to cold for a swim. Reception and the breakfast area are the old railway station for the town, a nice little twist

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When it comes to staying in Stanley, the only place to stay is on the waterfront at Stanley Village. Stanley Village is a boutique waterfront hotel and restaurant rising from the ashes of abandoned colonial buildings. These buildings, which are nestled under the famous "Nut", have been tastefully restored and remain the hub of activity they once were, albeit in a very different use. With a genuine waterfront location all suites have absolute water views and is within walking distance of activities in the township. Our restaurant 'Stanley's on the Bay' is located in the historic Bond Store, built as a Customs Bond Store in 1835 with ships ballast. Our fully licensed a-la-carte restaurant serves the finest in locally grown produce specialising in superb steak and succulent seafood. The fully restored 'Wiltshire Railway Station' complete with railway memorabilia has been relocated and transformed in to our 'Whistle Stop Cafe' housing our breakfast bar and reception. Spend the day exploring the region, dine at ‘Stanley’s on the Bay’ or simply order in and watch the sunset over Sawyer Bay from the comfort of your suite. Although once the sun goes down you will be asked to share the view with the local penguin population who happily wonder through the property and entertain!A stay at Stanley Village will see you experience a fascinating window into Australia's colonial heritage. Our friendly team aim to provide you with a memorable stay and are here to cater to your every need. ... more   less
