Carolyn was there when we pulled up and gave us a warm and informative welcome. We had one of the large rooms which was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite clean. Breakfast was excellent, we were made very welcome and the parting gift of some freshly homemade cookies a lovely touch.

Unfortunately the weather during our 3 night stay was terrible, cold and wet, and this may have coloured our views but we found it difficult to get warm in our room, Christina, and had to have the reverse air con on full plus the electric fire and electric blankets. This is a very historic house and we are full of admiration...

We stayed in the F.O. Henry room which was the old master bedroom. Loved the old four poster bed and the huge bay windows. Warm greeting from our host Carolyn who helped us out with sightseeing, restaurant and even parking advice. Never occurred to me that you would pay for street parking in a small country town so the advice...

Visited Strahan for one night. Not much to do there except the boat tours and a local play that has been running for years. A tired town in springtime. Ormiston House was clearly well loved by the owner and had a small history of the house "museum" upstairs. Caroline obtained dinner reservations for us in town. The bed was not...

My wife and I stayed here in late October 2016. Stayed in Christina's Room. (the one with the spa bath in the room itself, boudoir style!). Room was spacious and comfortable. We were only there for the night but really enjoyed it. Carolyn our host was lovely to deal with and very informative on all aspects of Strahan and around....

A brilliant restoration by Carolyn and Mike has made Ormiston THE place to stay in Strahan . On the esplanade , it is spacious, combining antique furniture with modern fittings . After a long drive from Hobart , the bar was especially welcoming as were Carolyn's muffins and breakfast the next day . Loved the old photographs . Thank you...

It must have been a huge task to restore this house to its present comfort while keeping it true to style. The warmth and focus of the hospitality is memorable. We stayed two nights and would have enjoyed more. The pre-briefing for our travel there was a great help, as was the advice on departure. It's worth a detour to...

This is the perfect quintessential B&B - old beautifully restored house (with a little museum and widow's walk) right on the waterfront, manicured garden in full bloom, rooms with antique furniture and best of all a warm welcoming hostess Carolyn. She really made our stay (one night only, unfortunately) special. Continental breakfast in the formal dining room included freshly baked...

We stayed for one night, it is a beautiful house and excellent and warm service, the breakfast was really nice and the home made beans were great. Also a big thank you for the home made choc chip cookies for our long drive to Hobart. It's a big 2 thumbs up from us and would recommend the stay.
