We stayed here for a night before returning home. We also had dinner in the restaurant. Pam is lovely and knowledgeable host, and is doing a terrific job, virtually single handedly, running this historic establishment. A great place to stay just outside Launceston.

Nice room to stay. Pam is very nice and provided helpful tourism information. Nice garden. Breakfast is good too! Little town is very charming. Worth to visit, now far from Launceston. Leatherwood honey toast is great!

We stayed here overnight on our way to the rose festival at Woolmers Estate. Pam is an excellent host and prepared a wonderful dinner for us. Our room on the ground floor at back of the inn, opened onto lovely gardens, and was very comfortable indeed with its own very nice bathroom. A lovely place to stay !

Thanks for the great review! I too managed to get to see the roses and festival at Woolmers - it was spectacular! We are so lucky to have the National Rose Garden just half an hours drive from here - and the tour of Woolmers estate is worth a visit too - hope you enjoyed it all.

I was put up at this property by my work. I had the most delightful experience there. Pam the owner/operator of this gorgeous old mansion couldn't have been more accommodating. My room was beautifully kept and decorated, with a lovely peaceful aspect opening out onto the garden. Pam also prepared the most delicious dinner for myself and 2 other guests...

We booked Fitzpatrick's Inn for the 1 night - Valentine's - the beginning of our 2wk holiday in Tasmania. From the minute we drove in the driveway, we knew we'd made the right choice and were sad that we hadn't booked 2 nights, simply to enjoy the welcome atmosphere and relaxing surrounds....and the food! Although we requested a specific room...

Wow - very happy with this review. This is the experience I am looking to give to my guests. And you provided me with a couple of small things to improve, which I certainly will do. So glad that I was able to give you a warm welcome to Tassie on your first night.

There's so much to say in favour of Fitzpatricks. Well located. Lots of rooms. Amazing bar! History in every room. Great yarns about original owners. Very comfy bed. New and very original ensuite. Lots of off street parking. Very pleasant owner/operator. However we suggest that the ensuite needs a shelf on which to put bathroom essentials or instead of the...

Thank you so much for your lovely comments - the Bartletts' room that you stayed in is one of the newly renovated rooms and I am really please with the beautiful result, and judging from your comments, you obviously were too. I stayed at Fitzpatrick's Inn last night to deliver a workshop in Westbury. Enjoyed beautiful hospitality (including wine, food and tour of the carefully restored property). One surprising highlight was the beautiful photographic art in my ensuite bathroom ... which makes you feel like you are showering standing in a wrap-around piece of Tasmania's beautiful wild landscapes! Looking forward to...

Thanks Natasha, lovely to have you stay and have a workshop here. Yes I am certainly extremely happy with the WOW factor in the new ensuites - the photographer John Temple tells me that it is truly unique - he believes it is the first time a photograph has been enlarged to that size and displayed in an ensuite.
