We spent a weekend here with a group of mutual friends for a reunion weekend. The hotel is old and full of charm. The lobby is full of history and very inviting. Amenities include free hot breakfast on the weekends, computer access, freed wi-fi and food and beverage available

We enjoyed our night in this historic hotel. The room, though small, had everything we needed. It was very clean, with a very comfortable bed. It took a little while to regulate the hot water in the shower, but it was fine. It was interesting to learn how many famous people h

Pros -
I love the old, historic look and feel of this hotel. The staff was friendly. The attached restaurant had good food and service. We stayed during the off-season, so the rate wasn't too unreasonable.

Cons -
The room was really small. This didn't bother us, but may be som

As long as they pair themselves with this subpar restaurant...JEDs, they will continue to receive poor evaluations. Walking out the front door witnessed empty beer cans in the flower bed along with hundreds of cigarette butts. Great concept, but poorly implemented. The only br

The worst hotel stay of my life! Spider infested rooms, and your room might just be over the bar which blasts music until ungodly hours of the night, so if you were planning on sleeping I would take your business elsewhere. There is also no staff on duty that will assist you or h

How far away is the jet or the miller to take you to put in bay or Kelly's
Jet Express is right across the street. Miller Ferry is several miles east at the tip of Catawba.

I wish I was able to make a comment on a review I placed this weekend. My review was title "disappointed " This morning the General manager Randall called me and apologized and truly made an effort to rectify the concerns we had. For customers service alone we will be giving the hotel another try! Thank you Nettie Miller
Good for you Nettie

How close to a beach?
It is just a 10 minute walk from the front door to the beach area. However, there are a couple of beach locations here; the other one is further away and would require drive time.

What does a family room offer. We are three adults, parents and an adult daughter. Are there two separate bedrooms? Do you offer a bird watcher rate? We are thinking about attending the Greatest Week in American Birding this coming May. Thank you, Walter Hadlock
Thank you for your question. All contracted rates would require you to call into the hotel directly. As for the family rooms, the apartment suites, it has a living room with a pull out sofa and chase lounge. The hallway to the bedroom is where the bathroom is located and the bedroom has 2 queen size beds. As for separation of rooms, it would only be the living room and bedroom.
