A new nonprofit called Friends of the Kerr Mansion Inc. was formed to devise a plan to save the Poteau area residence of Kerr, a former state governor elected three times to the U.S. Senate. Presidents Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush stayed at the Kerr mansion, Corn said. Kerr persuaded Kennedy to come there...

Although efforts are being explored to find a way to reopen this famous facility, at the present time the facility is closed to guests and visitors. It is a grand structure, worthy of preservation, and I hope the efforts bear fruit.

Kerr Conference Center is in a beautiful, quiet location and is a lovely place. Great views. Our room was fine except that we didnt have enough towels for the amount of people and the bathtub was missed in cleaning. I bought Clorox wipes and cleaned it myself. Breakfast was arranged nicely I just wish there had been a protein offered...

I sincerely enjoyed my stay at the "Kerr Mansion" as my little brother called it. I drove there 13 hours from my home for a wedding the next day and I was ready to crash. The staff was kind and efficient for us and the view was absolutely stunning. I wound up getting a great nights sleep. The wedding the...

This is a great place for a motorcoach group lunch stop. With 10 rooms in the house it would also work for family reunions.

I recently rented a room at the Kerr Conference Center for my daughter's 9th birthday (slumber party). The accomidations of the Kerr Mansion truly allowed her and 5 of her friends to feel like they were princesses for the night. The were allowed to explore the house and the grounds. The girls were intrigued by the historical significance of the...

My husband and I were able to stay here this summer for the very first time! I grew up around the area and had visited the Kerr for weddings, and other events, but had never had the experience of staying there myself. It is absolutely beautiful-- located in the shadow of the world's highest hill-- this is the perfect escape!...

My wide and I had reservations for Wednesday, August 4, 2010. We arrived around 4:45 PM, and found no one there, no cars anywhere around, and the place was locked. I telephoned and got their answering system. I left a message and still haven't heard back. We wound up driving to Fayetteville, AR to get a room. I am still...

I attended a class reunion held at the conference center and also spent the night there. The guest rooms were large and very nice, and the historical aspect was interesting as well. We stayed in the Gerald Ford room, next door to the John F. Kennedy room. The view from the back of the center is absolutely beautiful. All the...

The Kerr Conference Center is absolutely beautiful..However, the management was enough to make me stay away! She was completely disrespectful, rude to my family, and I had to call and make my reservation on two different counts, because she "forgot" to reserve me room..
