Our first New Years Eve at The Geiser Grand, and it was amazing! The celebration included Maine Lobster in the restaurant, horse drawn sleigh rides and a champagne toast to ring in the New Year. Our all-time favorite dish is the rib eye steak, and we also ordered a lobster to go with. I haven't had lobster this good for...

The hotel has a grand old lobby with a glass ceiling. The hotel rooms are pleasant, have tall ceilings and are quiet. The staff was very friendly. The location is across the street from a great breakfast spot, and is on the main drag in Baker City, not far from the highway. I glanced at some of the other reviews,...

We checked in on a long journey across country with the weather outside below zero. The hotel staff were extremely nice and went out of their way to provide us the most luxurious time. The rooms are spacious and heated with gas heat - so very warm and cozy. The restaurant opens up to the upper stories and provides a...

Three groups of us were transporting high school kids to a track function in Reno. We had several separate room reservations. Due to dangerous road conditions and a blocking wreck, the State of Oregon closed I-84, the only practical roadway getting to Baker City. All vehicles were 4-wheel drive and equipped with chains, but the freeway was absolutely closed. The...

We were looking for something different to do on New Year's Eve and we decided on the Geiser Grand. When we called back in October, the female who helped us with booking the room was very friendly. We ended up choosing room 302: the Cupbola room. The booking lady also talked us into discount lift tickets for Anthony Lakes, which...

The hotel is nice, but make sure you confirm their reservation cancellation policy first. If your plans change or if you want to move a night, be ready to be gouged. They will charge you even if the hotel is not full. Seems silly they expect to be paid for not doing anything.

This is a gorgeous old historic building, housing an extraordinarily friendly staff, a stunning hotel, and a delicious top-quality restaurant, with reasonable prices. If you end up in Baker City (and we won't, again), this is definitely the place to be! We had a wonderful dinner of the Wallowa steak dish (with local Morel mushrooms - amazing!), the pasta &...

Our king fireplace room, even with lofty ceiling and windows, was warm and wonderful this past December night as temps dipped to -17 degrees. Always start with THE BEST cocktails in town at the charming bar before a scrumptious dinner in the dining room. I go for their BloodyMary's and Cosmopolitans and wines, then devour a fabulous beef dish (I've...
