My wife and I stayed at Tu Tu Tun Lodge two nights in August. It was wonderful. At check-in, a nice gentleman helped us with our luggage and we offered a tip but he declined. The room was very spacious, clean, well-appointed. And all the...More
We stayed at the Tu Tu Tun Lodge on a driving trip up the Oregon Coast. It is a hidden jewel on the Rogue River - off several small roads and tucked in a bend on the river. The hotel is a 2 story, low-slung...More
I treated myself to three nights at TuTu'Tun as a birthday gift to myself. I had passed by the signs pointing upriver many times and always thought I'd like to stay there. I was SO right! I didn't know if I would like communal dining...More
The only place in Oregon we managed to find with 5 star accomodation in a 5 star location. Beautifully appointed rooms with views of the Rogue River. Delicious food served communally in the evening. Great service. The only downside to note would be the walls...More

the lodge is on the river, not too far from Gold Beach, we were picked up/dropped off by the jet boat company, you do not have to drive. you are picked up at the pier in front of the lodge.
hope this helps.

I agree with the above answer, no places in Gold Beach are nearly as good as Tu Tu Tun. There are a few good places farther north on the coast - I think one in Bandon is called Redfish or something, if they are open that time of year. There is also a good waterfront crab shack place I can't remember the name of, the lodge would know. There may be a few places in Port Orford as well, although Bandon and Port Orford are a bit of a drive. We have always liked getting picnic items in Gold Beach and enjoying them right at Tu Tu Tun. The place is so beautiful it's hard to leave! Enjoy your stay!

"there are lodge rooms and separate houses. Not cabins, houses which are perfect for families."
