This is a great little stop for the mcmenamins passport. spent a couple hours eating, walking around the property, drinking, smoking cigars from their cigar shop. Awesome date night. Did not stay in the hotel, just did the bar scenes.

I have eaten there before a few times and the menu is lacking for me. Typical of McMenamins though. I take people there to show them what has been done with the old school not for the food. Their craft beer that I had several weeks ago was just terrible, I had two sips and that was all.

In town for a family visit, we stayed at McMenamins Kennedy School for 3 nights. This was our second visit, and we love this place. The character of the school has been well preserved, and we enjoy exploring all the different rooms. As with all of the McMenamins properties we have visited, the food and drinks are very good and...

We stayed at a friend's AirBnb five blocks from the Kennedy School. We had gotten two recommendations to visit here and I was blown away by how clever this repurposing of a 1913 school was done. There are four bars - each with a school theme. The Honors Bar plays opera music while the Detention Bar plays, well not opera....

Another unique and interesting McMenamins property. Will definitely come back to stay here. Too much to explore in the short visit. Just went to explore and get the passport stamps. A hotel with restaurants and other activities. All in a redone school. Art work around the hotel is like going to a gallery. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.

I've been hearing about McMenamins for years and finally had the chance to visit during a business meeting in Portland. I was enchanted by the facility, which is a converted old school, reminiscent of places I attended as a child. I went with a large group who had called ahead. We arrived and were to be directed to the Boiler...

I am very sorry to hear about the poor service you experienced during your visit. I have reviewed your comments with our bars manager but would love some more specific details if you have time. If you could please tell me the date and time that you dined with us, it would help us to better understand what may have...

I love Kennedy School! In fact I love most things McMenamin's, but sleep evaded me. 33rd St. is very busy and several people travel the halls at night. The soaking pool is very popular with neighbors, as well as guests. We had great meals and beer in the Courtyard restaurant & Cypress Room.

Hi Hairup- Sorry to hear about the sleeping issues due to 33rd Ave. It can be quite a busy street. Please feel free to call ahead and request a quieter area and we will try our hardest to accommodate your request. Thank you for still loving us anyway! Best Wishes, Gloria

By far the most original and interesting hotel I've ever stepped foot in. This is an old school that has been converted into a theme hotel. Everything here plays on the school theme, from the rooms, bars, restaurant and most importantly the decor. There is charm and character all over, the floors and stairs creak like the hotel from the...

My boyfriend and I spent one night here on a trip we took through Oregon and Washington. It was actually the last night of our trip before flying out of Portland. We had so much fun! Such a unique spot-each room is different and the who vibe of the place is unlike anywhere else I've ever stayed. This is an...

Hi JaimQ- Glad we were your last stop! I think it's a great way to finish a vacation. Be sure to come visit us again when the pool is open. We do close it once a month and twice a month during winter months for deep cleaning. Best Regards, Gloria

I could have spent all day here! There is so much fun and charm around every corner. We spent an afternoon drinking amongst the many bars, wandering the grounds outside and inside, and soaking in the pool. Note they do not provide towels, but they do have open cubbies that you can pop your clothes into when tubbing. Expect to...
