My boyfriend and I stayed in a clean, spacious room in the guesthouse. I can't speak to the hostel portion but the guesthouse was quiet, had multiple bathrooms (single stall but I never had to wait), and was a short walk from attractions like Powell's. Will stay again.

The property is gorgeous from the outside and located in a well-kept neighborhood. The vibe was warm and friendly when I arrived. I stayed in a dorm and the beds were basic with clean linen and electrical outlets. The breakfast is good for what it is, bread and a few different spreads with some coffee. Typical hostel style, can't complain....

The hostel is old. The beds squeak. However, it is located in a great part of town with easy public transportation and wonderful dining. The hostel provides day trips to neighboring venues which are fun and informative. It is a great place to meet people from all over the world and acquire new experiences.

Lovely histel. I was traveling with my older son. On arrival we asked for a private 2 bed room and it was no trouble. We were taken to the house next door. It's was spotless quiet and had a cute little kitchen and great outdoor area. You went into the main house for real cooking and breakfast. Staff were friendly...

I stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend just passed and had to come down in the middle of the night for a few questions. Robert at the front desk was super happy to help me and tried going above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and enjoying my stay. I stayed in a 8 bed dorm,...

average everything. Good place to stay on a budget- quite central and average customer service. Quite a gloomy miserable decor inside but the outdoor area (secret garden) was lovely! Breakfast was kinda bad. They need more laundry facilities

For those of us who travel from nations with a weak currency, accommodation tariffs in major USA cities - at least during the summer - are outrageous. I chose this hostel as it was at least half the cost of an hotel room. Walking from Amtrak's beautiful Union Station took about 20 minutes - the slightly uphill bits were still...

Me and my friend are traveling the west coast and chose to stay in Portland for a week. The hostel was clean, comfortable and extremely friendly! The staff seemed like a group of friends and it really reflected on the whole experience. Makes you believe in human kind all over again :)

Loved my stay here. Had been downtown for a night at other accommodation and it was noisy with traffic at night. Being jetlagged I looked for alternative accommodation. Wandered uptown and asked at Reception and they had a single room for the nights I needed in the guesthouse (Green Leaf) next door. Very comfy bed, good air con in rooms....
