My husband, son and myself recently spent a night at the Old Summer House. The farm is so peaceful and quiet. There is a really nice man made pond you can swim in or just sit by,(there are chairs to relax in.) Chickens from which you can collect eggs and a sweet little miniature horse. The main house and guest house are historic(1839)... More

A multi-generation girls' week was a resounding success thanks to a stay at the Old Summer House. The 5 & 8 yr olds loved the play house, egg gathering, the carts, Thunder the horse and Roxie the dog, and finally became brave enough to go swimming in the pond. Their mama and great-aunt loved the area and ease of access... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our week staying in this quaint and comfortable little home. The owners provide most everything you would need, to include, soap, coffee, aluminum foil, etc. The rooster provided lots of musical entertainment on Sunday! The farm itself is absolutely peaceful and lovely. If you want to get away from it all, by all means check out the... More

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time on our overnight visit to the Old Summer House Guest House! The summer house has a private entrance, full stocked kitchen downstairs, and a beautiful bedroom and bath upstairs. Everything was clean and well-maintained. It was just what we needed for an anniversary getaway without the kids! Attractions like Shady Maple... More

The location is perfect if you want to experience the tranquil countryside while still being close to local attractions. The farm is full of warm and welcoming animals ready to play whenever you are, and the people are just as friendly. I would rec commend this place to anyone with kids especially. I don't have any, but I know if... More

I enjoyed myself so much on my little 2 day visit, and wished I could have stayed longer. It was a pleasure to meet Karen, and one of her sons Grant, and hope when I return I can meet the rest of her family. The area is beautiful and the home is approx. 150 yrs old which made it more... More

Ladies get away - traveled to the Old Summer House with my friend, her two daughters and my daughter. We were going to explore the Amish Community and did not want to stay in a hotel; well we could have not found a better spot. This place is just beautiful. The pond is not just a typical weedy pond, it... More

This was our third time staying at The Old Summer House. Although, I do have to say it's listed as a hotel and I would definatly say it's a Bed and Breakfast more than a hotel for sure. I stayed with my husband and 7 year old son and had a wonderful time! Each time we've been here the Stoners... More

The other reviewer (Paul Maynard) did an excellent job of describing the Old Summer House. I will focus my efforts on the few remaining topics. This is one of those places you go to escape. I originally booked the Old Summer House because of the full kitchen and its location (we attended multi-day wedding festivities 2 miles away). Within a... More
