Wonderful place. Nice rooms
Service was awful. Waited for an hour for drinks at dinner.
Meal was pre ordered and they still couldn’t organise themselves
Breakfast. Every table had to ask for milk for their tea or coffee.
Bar in drawing room often not manned. Had to stand around waiting for a drink terrible m

Dear liz l Thank you for taking the time to place your review, I am pleased you found Langley a wonderful place to visit and you found the rooms nice, however, I was most concerned to learn of the lapse in our normally high standards of service. I have noted in particular your comments regarding the bar service, I will investigate this further. I do hope this will not deter you from returning to Langley to experience the usual excellent standards that the Castle is known for. Best Regards Elaine

This hotel had been recommended to us by some friends who stayed last year and raved about the place.
We were in a group of eight and right from the word go we loved our stay.
We arrived at the hotel early to drop our bags off as we were going to visit Hexam and the receptionist who was great told us our room was ready and we had received a complementary upgrade!!
The room/suite was spotless and very grand. Everything you would expect in a four star hotel in such a fantastic location.
We had a brilliant nights sleep after a superb meal in the hotel restaurant and an amazing breakfast in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Even the housekeeping staff said hello to you!!
You cannot fault this hotel.
As a place to stay for a romantic break or a special trip away with friends it cannot be beaten.

Dear Eastham2768 Thank you so much for your lovely review following your recent visit to Langley, I am delighted to hear you enjoyed the experience. Langley is indeed a place to get away from it all, and relax after a day exploring the fantastic countryside Northumberland has to offer. I am pleased you enjoyed the restaurant food, and in particular, our award winning breakfast. I do hope we shall have the opportunity to welcome you all back to the Castle in the very near future. Best Regards Elaine

Booked for 1 night in Castle View room; with one small well behaved dog. Superb surroundings; easy check in and pre booked dinner. Exceptional service by all staff; within the hotel & restaurant. Staff professional but not too obtrusive. Warm quiet dining room area; with table reservations well spaced so not too busy or rushed. The actual main castle has the wow factor - then some more. Will be returning next year; with my own clients on tour. Thank you Langley Castle.

I really don`t know where to begin. This place was Heaven. We have passed it on so many occasions and always wanted to stay there. My husband booked it for a birthday treat for me. Wow, it did not fail to impress. I felt very regal throughout my stay! We stayed in the actual castle and had the Radcliffe room, it was stunning. The bathroom is huge with a lovely sunken bath, twin sinks, lovely stand alone shower and.......a sauna in the bathroom. The bed was a beautiful four poster and there is a small sofa and extra chairs also in the room. The window seat in the 7ft thick rooms was something else. The room was just incredible, we loved it. The food was delicious. We are not fans of fine dining as a rule, as we like a `proper plateful of food!` but we were massively impressed, from the freshly baked homemade bread to the most delicious puddings, we could not fault it. We were certainly not hungry! The staff were all wonderful, every single one of them. The castle tour conducted by Reece was well worth doing. It was very interesting. The breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. We very rarely book the same place twice but we were so impressed we have booked again for January! Fabulous.

Dear RetiredOneHappy Thank you for your very kind comments following your recent stay. The Radcliffe Room certainly does have the wow factor, with a fantastic bathroom, I do hope you had time to enjoy the Sauna. I am pleased you joined the battlement tour, it gives a very interesting account of the history of the Castle, and is open every day, to both residents and non residents alike. The views of the Northumbrian landscape are breath taking. I am delighted to hear you had such a lovely birthday treat, and I do hope we can welcome you back very soon. Best Regards Elaine

We passed this castle a few years ago and kept it in mind. Looked very impressive from the road situated on top of slight rise. Took my wife for a two night break for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. Not cheap, but it was a special place for a special break. We had the Greenwich Room, which I suspect can double as the Bridal Suite as it was next to the Stuart function room and one floor below the Chapel. Four poster bed, seperate dressing room, large bathroom with huge bath and walk in shower, sofa, and a window seat set in the 7 ft thick walls. Satellite tv, tea and coffee in the room, and room service. Friendly staff, excellent food and drink, enough choices on the menu to cater for most tastes, various types of afternoon teas available in the drawing room on the first floor. There are a number of named rooms in the main castle, with more rooms in the buildings in the grounds.
Short drive to the various museums and excavations of Hadrian's Wall, local walks, and dog friendly. Lovely weekend, my wife declared it her best birthday ever. Even the weather was kind to us.

Dear Chris F I am delighted to learn your wife had such a fabulous birthday, and as you have discovered Langley is indeed a special place for a special break. The Greenwich Room really is delightful and I have to say it is one of my favourite rooms, it is so warm and welcoming and has the most fabulous window seat, and as you correctly guessed it is a favourite with our many bride and grooms, (or even special couples renewing their vows). I am pleased you both enjoyed the food selections, the 'Gentleman's' afternoon tea has become a firm favourite with a lot of our guests. There is so much to discover in the area, and I do hope you will both be able to return soon. Best Regards Elaine
