We spent one night here on our way from the Yuanyang rice terraces and Kunming. It's at one end of Hanlin Jie, which made it easy to park our car and walk to the local sites. The woman at the front desk was very nice, but doesn't speak any English. The room was clean and quiet. Ours was on the... More

We stayed here late October as part of 6 day motorcycle tour - day 1 after Kunming. The location is excellent and we found the hotel OK. The downstairs cafe seemed to be a drop-in place later at night and we thought a lot of fun. The rooms are comfy but can be a bit noisy - but great location,... More

When we first arrived this hotel was situated in an area with a massive power outage but we were not affected. We went to the room to find it depressing. Dark, cobwebs all around, cluttered, no A/C, no internet, and small bathroom. No place to layout the suitcases. Our room was directly over restaurant and bar - LOUD MUSIC. Our... More

This hotel is in the old town, close to everything. We paid 400 CNY ($62) per night. No breakfast is available through the hotel unless you specifically order it the night before. Our room could've used a fresh coat of paint, as it looked like there were soda stains on the wall in two spots. The room also had a... More

the rooms are small, but adequate, nice balcony and morning sunlight is a big plus - we checked out other hotels down the small strip and while rooms were bigger and a touch fancier, BUT no windows, no balcony, no fresh air. we had room 205. good bathroom, 5 star compared to Vietnam.. but .takes 5 minutes for hot water... We stayed in the Huaqing for one night and it was a bit of a disaster. While the location is excellent, the rooms were nice enough but our sleep was interrupted by noisy street outside and a baby in the room next door that the mother felt was better consoling outside in the hallway at 3am, still you cannot blame...
