Clean, comfortable, not fancy! Lovely swimming pool! A nice walk through Jinghong to the Night Market (great street food available there!) and other restaurants are close by. We used this hotel as a launching pad for our day trips to the various markets and tea mountains, and it served its purpose well.

The entrance lobby was impressive but unfortunately the rooms did not match our first impression. The hotel has seen better days. Although clean and spacious the bedroom had dingy lighting and old, shabby furniture and fittings. Bed was very hard. Walls are very thin - we heard everything in the corridor and adjoining rooms until people retired for the night.... More

Generally fine, though I have stayed in a few hotels in China and this is one of the better ones. Breakfast was ok, at least it had western options. Rooms large and with working airconditioning. However as with most hotels in China lack of attention to detail with unclean bathrooms and very slow wifi.

I have been in several hotels in china and few of them can be considered, from a western point of view, as really comfortable. This is one of them! Rooms are clean and the bed is soft. Breakfast is chinese style but above standard. It's close to a flea street market that opens at night and te surroundings are safe.

While far from what one would expect of a global hotel chain, Tai Garden will do for a one or two night stay. It offers all the basic amenities such as a pool, a Chinese buffet breakfast and a concierge. But beyond that, don't harbor too much expectations. Our rain shower was not working and the beds were a little... More

My wife and I spent some time researching where to stay in Jinghong. We ended up choosing this hotel. It looked great online, with a swimming pool - the pool was an important feature for us. The lobby was about the only feature that did not disappoint. The pool had no water. Room was adequate. Breakfast ok, if you like... More

This hotel has some of the best and worst to offer in Xishuangbanna. It’s an easy hop from the airport, it looks impressive, it’s got pretty gardens and a swimming pool. If you get the right deal on the room rate you’ll think you’ll have scored a bargain (as my wife and I did when we stayed here in early... More

Rooms are very large. Each room has its own computer with "camera". Carpeting in rooms was very stained. Food was acceptable and staff cared to please. Grounds are pleasant. Westerners need to know that they are not staying at a Western chain hotel. Hotel works as a base for visiting the area.

This hotel rates itself as 4 star, although it should be 3 star. The hotel has been superceded by the New Tai Garden Hotel (across the courtyard) which is better. The restaurant was closed when we wanted an evening meal (7.00pm) and so we had to walk a fair way along the drive out to the street and then down... More

We stayed in this fine hotel for two nights in mid-January 2012 while on a tour of Yunnan province. It is located in a nice park area, close to restaurants and a night market (jewellery mostly). While not a four star, it is a good hotel for this part of China where they do not receive many westerners. Our room... More
