For such a cheap place, I was impressed at the clean, welcoming, pleasant environment. My bunk room had 4 built-in beds, and included a toilet room and a shower room, small but clean. Free running tea and coffee was available downstairs without charge, and a breakfast of cereal with milk was also included. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed here last night after Ozrics gig at Trades Club. A perfect set up run by really friendly nice people. Would recommend to everyone ☺☺☺. Very clean & well organised. The best hostel I've stayed in.

Stopped over recently with my son on our canal bike trip and found a real gem of a place. Good communal rooms, well kitted out kitchen, comfortable and clean bedrooms, lots of subtle attention to ethical and environmental issues, loads of local information and great value. Thanks Chris and Dave

A friend and I stayed in the hostel for two nights in August as part of a walking trip and we were really impressed. The place has a quirky and welcoming vibe, and the bunks and facilities were all spotless. We had a couple of very comfortable nights, and the team who run the hostel were friendly and helpful. We...

What a treat it was to find this place, Em and Dave who run this homely and immaculate hostel are a delight, both extremely knowledgeable on local music scene, environmental issues, and on local hikes, trails and treks. Lots of inspiration and informative information pinned up around the hostel on campaigns, treks, complete with photographs and maps (its located just...

Even the notices that are around are in friendly type faces so as to be inviting not authoritative. What a pleasure to stay here. Thank you I will be...

I very much liked the feel of the place and the attitude behind it all. The building and situation are great and the room was good too. The kitchen and the hall, the room where you can sit and eat, plus the quiet room are really pleasant. Everyone that can manage it should go on the local walk - it's...

Stopped one night while walking the Pennine Way. It's a bit out of the way, but Hebden Bridge is a cute, quaint village worth seeing. I arrived before checkin time, but was allowed into the lobby where I could make a cup of tea and get on the wifi (though it only worked for an hour, then I couldn't get...

We are sorry you had a less-than-perfect stay with us - as you can see from other reviews your experience is far from typical. To clarify the negative comments - we allow up to 1 Gb of free wi-fi per day, which we feel is more than generous. Guests who have problems accessing this should ask staff who are always...

Slightly disorganised on arrival in main hall. Big common room, small sitting room, Ok kitchen for cooking own stuff but small. Lots of condimennts and foodstuffs left over to help make a meal. Our room of 4 with small ensuite shower and toilet perfectly acceptable as walking Pennine Way. Two beds in room up step ladder which might not be...

Only stayed on night but will definately go back. Felt right at home here. Everywhere lovely and clean and fresh. Despite being a meat eater loved the ethics and politics of the hostel and it made me feel very comfortable. Cat very well behaved but friendly.
