Mirfield Monastery is a beautiful former Mill Owner’s House originally built in the 19th Century set in twenty acres of quiet gardens and woodlands. It is now the home of the Community of the Resurrection, an Anglican monastic order. Our bed and breakfast facility is located in the annexe building a short distance from the monastery. Those staying in the bed and breakfast annexe are welcome to enjoy the grounds and join the monks for worship in the church. Ideally located just off the M62 near Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and Halifax, in the heart of the Pennines - the enviable location of Mirfield Monastery offers excellent access and great countryside. Please note that we are unable to accept guests for check in between 17.30 and 18.45 as as the brethren are in worship. Latest check in time is 21.00 Mirfield Monastery welcomes visitors using the monastery as either a retreat house or a conference centre. It is open for groups or individuals and has a full programme of activities throughout the year. The ideal venue for just about every event of any shape or size, Mirfield Monastery can host conferences, workshops, retreats, church groups, weddings and receptions all on site. RETREAT HOUSE GUESTS: if you are wanting to book a place in the retreat house alongside the community please email or call us. The bed and breakfast is NOT the booking site for guests wanting to book into the retreat house. The Bed and Breakfast is on a split level site with beautiful grounds. We aim to meet the needs of all our guests but would like to highlight that there are some features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility: There are steps into the Bed and Breakfast; the bedrooms are all on the first and second floors and unfortunately no lift is available.

We stayed for 1night, the monastery is quite easy to find as it is a large site. However it is quite easy to miss the entrance to the accommodation as it's quite small and a bit tucked away. However once found we parked up, plenty of spaces. and was met by one of the brothers and shown to our room. the room was small, basic but perfectly functional. Plenty of tea and coffee provided plus top ups if needed. The bathroom was huge. The room we stayed in was lovely and quiet although close to the road we did not hear much road noise. The following morning breakfast is serve yourself continental style with plenty of choice. We would stay again.

This is a lovely place to stay if you want peace and quiet. It's close to pubs and restaurants in Mirfield, but just far enough away to remain in the quiet zone.
Lovely gardens, which you can wander around and plenty of space to lose yourself in.
The rooms are quite basic, but have everything you need. The showers are gery good.
Breakfast is a self service option, but there are cereals, toast, yoghurt and fresh eggs to choose from, along with tea, coffee and fruit juice. If you take your own food, you are welcome to use the kitchen in the B&B to cook. It 's the kitchen the monks use for jam making!
Well worth a visit, if only for the overwhelming sense of peace.

Four friends from exeter stayed here one night on our way to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park after visiting RHS Bridgwater in Salford.
We stayed in comfortable single rooms with all facilities, including a walk-in shower. We weren't able to stay for dinner but found an Italian nearby in Mirfield.
The grounds looked interesting but we weren't there long enough to explore them.
It was also affordable.
No cooked breakfast but a self service buffet including fruit. Wholemeal sliced brad was abit disappointing.

We stayed for two nights and loved the place - the quiet, the gardenns, the people. Room 4 is spacious, warm, spotlessly clean with en suite loo and shower. We would have welcomed a ground floor room but there isn't a double one. We managed. There are twenty acres to explore, mostly level. Breakfast is DIY, cereals, eggs, good coffee, tea, fresh fruit. If you're staying B&B there are several cafes which will deliver, or there's the Airedale Heifer about quarter of a mile down the road (turn right out of the gate). We arrived by rail, the local station appears to be unmanned, access by very long steep stairs - 'bus or taxi from Huddersfield is easier.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in an en suite B&B double room. The room was a very decent size and very comfortable, the WiFi was excellent. The bathroom was large with a large shower and instant hot water. We opted for taking our meals with the Brethren, which allowed us to appreciate fully the atmosphere and spirit of Mirfield. The staff were efficient, courteous and helpful. The grounds were beautiful and restful. The overall experience was excellent, including excellent value for money; we plan to return.

A working monastery set in 20 acres of lovely grounds. Room was small, basic but clean. Good shower. Not much choice for breakfast. Toast, cereals or boiled eggs. Items used on the table i.e. sugar, coffee and tea not replenished daily. Coffee pot on the go was only luke warm and if it was emptied by earlier guests there didn't seem any way of making a fresh pot. Rooms are not particularly soundproofed so if you had noisy neighbours it was a pain. We were woken at midnight by people walking around, doors slamming and loud voices. Room was cleaned only once you leave. Main beef was the lack of contact and information. would we stay here again?? Probably not.

Location Location Location. The Monastery, grounds and church are simply stunning and if you get a chance to attend a service to hear the monks chanting it is divine. Very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are simple but have everything you need and breakfast is self-service.

We needed accommodation in the Huddersfield area and Mirfield Monastery B&B came up as a choice at a very good price. As it seemed to be a bit different from the normal Travelodge, Premium Inn etc we decided to book. Overall a very peaceful place, room was more than adequate and breakfast was healthy and plentiful. If you are looking for a well-priced quiet place to stay try Mirfield Monastery and you can be sure there won't be hoards of hen/stag parties keeping you awake all night!

Mirfield Monastery is a super place for a good value B&B stay especially if you hate the traditional British fussy frilly B&B landlady. It's not so good if you turn up at 6 pm and can't get in for 40 minutes because the monks are all praying and you have to hunt down a cleaning lady on the other side of the monastery to let you in.

I was thinking 'God grant me patience but PLEASE hurry up'. There was no sign to indicate what we should do and we and another couple spent over half an hour ringing the bell, phoning the number on our booking confirmations and hunting all over the grounds trying to find a way in.

Rooms are clean, comfortable and very very quiet. Breakfast is very DIY - we didn't see anyone at all during our stay except for the lady who let us in.

Also note that whilst your booking confirmation may say the check out time is 11, this has now been changed to 10 am which wasn't a problem for us as we needed to leave then, but may come as a surprise to those who weren't planning to rush off. Black out curtains are needed to stop an early morning wake up.
