Stayed here overnight to visit Stonehenge in the morning. Looked like a lot of other guests had the same idea! With great rates, free parking and a clean comfortable room with tea & coffee making facilities you always know the high standard to expect at a Travelodge.
Stonehenge was just 6 miles away so a perfect stop for us.

Just stayed for two nights in the Amesbury Travelodge, it was clean comfortable and perfect for visiting family close by.We asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel and that is what we got, great nights sleep, friendly helpful staff, yes the rooms are basic but for us our main priority is that they are super clean with fresh bed linen and towels. The price was extremely good much less than a B&B you can purchase a breakfast consisting of cornflakes, juice milk etc but we always take an instant porridge pot that you just add boiling water as there is a kettle cups, tea and coffee in the room.Good location with all the usuals next door Burgerking,Greggs etc and Toby Carvery Harvester etc just up the road, can't fault our stay.

Having stayed in many branches of Travelodge, I always think they're great value and Amesbury was absolutely excellent. Our key was sanitised in front of us before being handed over by the very courteous and professional lady on reception. As we went to our room, the whole place smelled very clean and fresh. The room was spacious and immaculately clean and we didn't hear a sound all night. As we told the gentleman at reception upon leaving, we felt very clean and safe at all times. Will definitely return.

We booked two rooms for a one night stay on our way to Devon. The entrance was a bit tricky to find via sat nav but we Sussex it out! Our rooms were ready when we arrived. Ours were through the outside door on the lower level, it was clean and adequate for our needs.
We walked via the underpass to the nearby town and found a pleasant JD Wetherspoons where we enjoyed a very nice meal. Track and trace was in operation and we had to individually fill out the forms in front of a member of staff as proof we’d completed it.
The following morning we got our breakfast from Greggs which was situated next door. Check out was simple, keys were just posted into a box in reception.
Will definitely consider staying again if we are that way again.

Hotel good enough, clean, basic, does the job. If you need to cancel our room DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME phoning the number reception gives you. You don't get to speak to anyone, just get annoyed by the awful music and rpeated messages

Building - main building is OK although the entrance way seemed a bit tired.
Carpark was too small for the number of guests, overspill was mainly on a sligly remote carparking area away from the building. Massive pot hole in carpark entrance.
Room was standard sparsely furnished, although clean and staff are happy to replace coffee and towels etc.
The staff made my stay, Lisa and her colleagues were very helpful guiding me to local food and watering holes, and only too happy to sort out any issues with the rooms. I found Lisa out with a litter picker cleaning up cig butts when time allowed, showing an attention to detail and desire to make the place look a bit more pleasant for guests.

When entering the room it smelled of chlorine or bleach, yet it was still unclean. There was rubble on the floor, which clearly hadn't been carefully vacuumed. There was a noticeable tuft of hair next to cotton (?) in the bathroom, and a couple of noticeable hairs on our sheets. There were cobwebs on the wall/ceiling near the bed. Tucked just behind the bed there was an opened letter, and noticing this we also saw someone's old underwear stuffed on the floor behind the headboard. That might be easily missed by cleaners, but cumulatively there was so much wrong here that it just seems the rooms aren't being carefully cleaned. The soap dispensor in the bathroom was empty, so we used the shower gel dispensor in the shower. That wasn't great either: the cover was loose and didn't work correctly, so we had to take the cover off.

We understand that this is a budget hotel and mostly just a place to sleep, but with one of the nights being £98.99 we'd expect much, much better. On the positive side, there was no issue from traffic noise and we slept pretty well, and the staff there were friendly and apologetic when we raised these issues upon checking out (although not discount was offered). Strangely, WiFi isn't included: they seem to think that charging everyone £3 for 24 hours is worth the hassle to the guests staying there rather than just throwing it in as basically every other hotel does.

The Travelodge was well located just off the main road but shielded by a wall of trees. There was a petrol station and several eateries within walking distance.
The Lodge itself was the usual clean warm and comfortable rooms. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
One of the things I like about Travelodge is that you can have your dog with you, he was made most welcome also. The bonus with this particular location was that within a very short walk (1/4 mile) you were on a public park walking along the banks of the River Avon, Freddie the Labrador loved it.
In our case the purpose of the trip was to visit friends, however the Lodge is very convenient for Stonehenge, Amesbury and other surrounding villages.
I would recommend this Travelodge and the hotel chain in general.

I use this hotel nearly every time I visit Stonehenge as it is, as you expect for the price, a basic room with no frills. It used to have Happy Eater style restaurant on site but this has now changed to a Burger King\greggs. . The staff, as usual, were wonderful and welcoming and the bed very comfy. And I think the bathrooms have had a do over as they are looking pristine. (They looked a little sad on my previous visit) The staff are very Covid conscious and do a wonderful job of keeping the public areas sanitised.

Upon entering room the window was open and there was no central heating just an electric heater on wall - as we went during a recent storm this was not ideal! Not the warm welcome we were expecting after arriving late! Bed was a spring mattress which was well used and worm on one side! Positive - shower excellent and the room/bathroom was clean....just very cold.......dry heat from electric heater!
