Fabulous little place in Amesbury.

The hostess was lovely and very welcoming. Rooms are a good size, very clean, good water pressure with extremely comfortable beds. I also liked needing a key to get into the property rather than anyone being able to walk in off the street. The property is very COVID safe with good distancing measures in place. Plenty of parking available right behind the property or in the lay-by right outside the front door.

When we arrived we were advised that they could now serve breakfast and it was £5 per head (option not available when we booked due to COVID regulations). We were expecting just cereal and coffee but the breakfast was made to order, excellent portions and lovely.

It is surrounded by a good selection of places to eat/drink within walking distance (the New Inn just down the street is lovely for a drink). 5 minutes to Stonehenge, 20 mins to Salisbury and around 30mins to Longleat.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable visit. If we are back in the area I have no doubt we would stay here again.

Lovely family owned B&B who are going above and beyond in the current circumstances. Its the best place I have stayed in the area, with a variety of ground and first floor rooms off a central landing. The building looks to be Georgian, and has a lovely traditional air to it. The spacious breakfast room is in the basement and is beautifully decorated. The full breakfast was fantastic - great quality ingredients, perfect quantities and cooked to perfection - hot, not greasy and clearly made to order. Highly recommemded.

Excellent location, 1 hour pleasant walk from Stonehendge. Best to taxi to the visitors center and walk back through pastures on national heritage trail if you plan to do it, since the visitor's center is another 2km past Stonehendge. Hosts were fantastic with 5-star breakfast made to order and they had excellent documentation of restaurants, taxis and sights in the area. Their cat, Tipsey, came to give us a gracious welcome as well. Take care if renting out the top floor, the stairs to the top are a bit steep.

We only stayed for one night, thankfully.
I have never stayed anywhere before that had so much mould in the shower. The toilet seat was covered in stains and the duvet cover had several stains on it so I spent the night using a bath towel instead of the duvet. Breakfast was an additional £15.90 per couple but we didn't bother due to the low standards of cleanliness in the room.

My daughter, her husband and daughters booked in June 2020 to stay overnight in July 2021, as they were attending a wedding nearby. Suddenly, 4 weeks prior to their booking in July 2021 they were sent an email to say that Fairlawn House had decided to close that weekend due to a family event instead. So be prepared to be let down at the last minute as this place does not meet its obligations on your booking. My daughter now has the prospect of having to drive home instead from the wedding.

Lovely B&B close to Stonehenge and Woodhenge. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. We came early in the day to dropoff our luggage which they accepted AND then when our room was ready they took them to our room. That is excellent service! They recommended several places to eat - we ate at the Hovis bakery for lunch and Tandoori India for dinner - both excellent. We were in a family room as we are a party of three - it was large, comfortable and clean. The bathroom is large and clean. Breakfast is excellent with several choices and super friendly service. Free secured wifi is offered. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for a nearby wedding and I really can’t fault the place. They let us drop our bags off in the morning, pick up the key, and use a bathroom quickly to freshen up. When we got back around 11pm, our bag was waiting in our room like they said it would be. Every member of staff we came across were so welcoming, polite, and friendly. The room was comfortable and immaculate with a new-looking ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was generous and good. I’d definitely stay again :)

Good impression on first entering, we were only staying the one night, but had just spent a couple of nights in Buxton, at a fantastically clean well presented room.
We were told we were on the very top floor attic room, room no 16, things were looking good until we opened the door off the main landing to go to our room, to the right there is some kind of fire door, with a filthy cat flap in it (I’m sure a fire door mustn’t have any ventilation in it) the stairs were very very steep, and the handrail was merely a little more than a piece of skirting board attached to the wall, and was disgustingly grimy, I didn’t even want to touch it.
On entering the room, you could tell they had tried to make it look nice, but that didn’t disguise the absolutely disgusting Veluxe window, and the blinds at the other window were broken and cheap looking.
The bathroom didn’t have a shower, just a bath, the shower head attached to the taps was a health hazard in itself, not that you would be able to stand up in the bath, due to the low ceiling, which we were ok with, but again the bath wasn’t the cleanest.
This room is obviously an after thought to try and gain maximum profits from the hotel, luckily I didn’t end up having to stay in it, as I ended up in a+e, my husband stayed in the room, and said the bed was ok.
I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, the other rooms may be of better standard, but I would definitely check before booking which room you would be staying in

Fairlawn House is a family run B&B, as soon as you walk in you can feel the warm and cosy vibe. Keith and Tracy are friendly and welcoming, the breakfast is sublime, the beds are very comfortable and the rooms are catered for every traveller. Highly recommend!

I recently stayed here for a few days whilst I had business meetings in the area. The space was immediately calming, with gorgeous details that made me feel both at home, and also able to escape my normal day-to-day life.

My room had a desk for me to answer work emails in the morning and evening, along with a great TV, amazing shower, and some of the nicest pillows which gave me a perfect night's sleep.

With everything going on in the world, there is no question of hygiene safety in this location, and I'm actually looking to return when restrictions are lifted with family to explore more of the town's delights. Thanks, Fairlawn House!
