Lovely spacious modern hotel located in a perfect spot near eateries and a few shops (McDonalds, Pizza Hut etc Co op, Home Bargains). Well designed externally and internally with a lovely huge sun worshipper sculpture at the entrance of the area (Solstice Park).
The staff were warm and helpful on arrival.
Our rooms were excellent, nicely decorated with the usual facilities.
The breakfast was amazing - fresh uncut bread available and stunningly good hot breakfast cooked by order. Something for all tastes and needs.
The manager of the breakfast area was helpful and attentive. On the second morning, he spotted my empty drinks bottles and asked if I’d like them to be filled. I asked if it would be possible to have juice and he not only cheerfully agreed but brought back the filled bottles with ice.
The only member of staff that slightly spoiled it was the new desk staff member as we checked out who was a little frosty, but was ultimately helpful.
I will definitely book this hotel again if we visit again in the future.

We wanted a hotel base, close to Stonehenge and the surrounding area and got a good deal for 2 nights at the Holiday Inn.

Our room was nicely appointed and (at time of a pandemic) visibly very clean.

Albeit we stayed during a lull in the Covid pandemic - the stay was pleasant enough (housekeeping had been adjusted so that towels and toiletries were 'help yourself' from tables near the lobby etc).

Our room was relatively spacious, with King size bed, wall art reminiscent of Stonehenge, comfy chair, desk, wardrobe, shelving and ample facilities for a weekend away. The ensuite shower-room was more than adequate with all the amenity one would expect of Holiday Inn.

Within a few minutes walk was a petrol station / convenience store which stocked all the essentials that made in-room comforts close at hand.

We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant which, whilst at a time of Covid restrictions, had a limited menu, but was reasonable.

Salisbury and Stonehenge are each around 20 mins away. Longleat is around a 35 minute journey.

In all, a reasonable and comfortable stay at a 'typical' provincial Holiday Inn, which is convenient for the sights in the area.

The Holiday Inn Salisbury Stonehenge is my go-to hotel when working around the area.
The reception staff are always welcoming and happy to assist with any queries and try to facilitate a room upgrade where possible once asked, due to my IHG status. The usual delights of Rebecca & Karen on reception, both very knowledgeable and endeavour to make the stay as welcoming as possible.

The restaurant and bar offer a wide variety of food and drinks at reasonable prices and are always presented nicely which is a bit of a rarity in other hotels. The food is mostly of good quality but where an issue is raised it is
mostly resolved satisfactorily. Restaurant staff Jasmin & Emily always ensure my order is made as requested and welcome me back each and every night I dine in the hotel.

The rooms are always clean, tidy and odour free which is also another bonus, the bathrooms are always clean although the water pressure can vary from room to room. The beds are always comfortable and the smart TV's offer easily compatibility with the phones, laptops and Xbox.

Of my five stays at this hotel, there has only been one or two minor issues which is a nice change from staying at other hotels and the issues are always resolved by the end of the next day.

I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

having a meeting at 10.30am in Amesbury I decided to book an overnight stay, rather than travel early. Being peak staycation season, it wasnt easy to book a room.

I arrived at 7pm., and the comedy began:

1. I was advised i was only booked for a bed, not bed and breakfast, even though I had a piece of paper confirming the booking.

2. The people in front of me were advised that breakfast slots were only available at 8am and 10am. they opted for 10am. The explanation given was that there were over 50 children in the hotel.

3. I was advised that slots were now only available at 7.30am and 10am. The later time didnt work for me as I had a booked meeting, and the earlier time rather defeated the point of travelling so as not to have to get up early.

3. I was then advised Macdonalds was very good value for money.

4. I was charing the room but when i went into the room there was only one bath towel and one hand towel. We rung housekeeping but apparently they had "gone home".

5. Reception advised that there was a spare one in the wardrobe, and when there wasnt, advised that unfortunately due to problems with the delivery of linen there were no other clean towels in the hotel.

6. On going down to dinner at 8.30pm, I was asked if I had booked, I was looking at a restaurant with 50 empty table s and 6 occupied ones. They said that service was very slow, and could I come back in half an hour. i asked if i could wait at the tables with a drink and this was agreed to. No one else came in while we waited for half an hour before our order was taken.

It seems to me that the staff at this hotel seem to have adopted a "your lucky we are open" and a "take it or leave it" approach. One might even suggest a "like it, or lump it" response.

Perhaps that is something we do need to accept, but we could be told in advance, given the opportunity to book meal slots including breakfast prior to arrival, and offered reduced prices due to the reduced quality.

Thank you for your feedback following your recent visit and I do sincerely regret that your experience was not 100% how it should have been. I must be honest thought, the industry is suffering from a myriad of challenges at the moment and I don't think it is at all fair to tarnish us as though we are making excuses, I accept 100% that your stay was not correct or as we would wish it to be but the challenges are real and I would be happy to discuss the depth of the problems directly if you would like to contact me.

My wife and I visited the hotel, this was during covid restrictions, but not lockdown. We received a very warm greeting and the hotel had clearly made great efforts to accommodate new cleanliness and safety measures. Wearing masks in the reception area, but no need at tables in the restaurant or in our room.

The room was exceptionally clean, and extremely comfortable, we particularly enjoyed having the little seating area as well as the bedroom area, to chat and discuss things. The hotel is very well equiped on the tech front as well, we were able to screenshare from our phones so we could watch movies on the big screen.

All in all we had a very enjoyable, safe weekend away, where we felt relaxed and refreshed after the saty.

We rented an Executive Room at this hotel for 2 nights, mainly because it was one of the closest to Stonehenge. The room was spacious and well appointed, very quiet. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel's restaurant (food was good). Lots of parking bays available.

Stayed for one night on way from south coast to Bristol. Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. The room
Is also very nice and spacious but for a modern hotel I cannot believe that there were no power sockets next to the bed so that we couldn’t charge our phones next to the bed.
We dined in the restaurant and although it was very quiet for a Saturday evening we had a very nice time. The waitress and the restaurant manager were both great and made our evening all the better.
The food was very tasty with a good varied menu and very reasonable too.

We went for the Sunday lunch carvery - just want to say it is very good value at £16.50 and children under 12 eat free. Plenty of choice and excellent puds! Free coffee included. Have eaten normal lunches here before and always very good.

Best night sleep we have ever had.
Rooms were very clean and staff were friendly. Very lovely hotel but not much to do in COVID times. 25 minute walk to town which had the most amazing restaurant. We recommend Piazza if you stay here as it has the most amazing food and cocktails at a very reasonable price.
Also a 5 minute drive to Cholderton Rare breeds farm. 100% recommend for any age, you can feed goats, pigs, sheep, horses, chickens and many more animals. Have pig races and go on the zip wire!!
Highly recommend for a couple of days as you can run out of things to do.
Also good for family’s.

Lovely rooms,
We had to have 2 because we are a family of 2 adults, daughter aged 10, and our sons are 9 and 2 so it’s lightly frustrating but we delt with it.
The reservations lady at reception could see I was frustrated at potentially being on a different floor to my husband so she put me in the executive suite as a upgrade so we could be on the same floor which I felt was amazing.

We actually were a military booking (our house broke so the military sent us to the holiday inn as a temp measure)

The evening meal was good what made it fabulous was the service the waiter it was outstanding a young chap and he really looked after us, I ate the fish and my husband had the curry and children all had spaghetti bolognaise - the food was ok it was the level of service that was fantastic.

The breakfast in the morning again service fantastic , the cooked breakfast wasn’t amazing some was burnt and the rest was cold, however they did try hard considering we were in a panedemic and in lockdown so they gave us cartons as juice drinks .

Over all a good stay.

Would recommend it - the room was outstanding can’t complain, bathroom to die for!!!!

Dinner in the hotel was surprisingly good - check the menu and give it a go. I had a lightish chicken sandwich which was fantastic. There's also a carvery nearby - very much cheap & cheerful - as well as the usual fast food suspects.
