It’s decadent, it’s cosseting, it doesn’t get much grander than The Manor House in Wiltshire, a country house with a difference. Dine in the Michelin star Bybrook restaurant or take a stroll around the picture box village of Castle Combe.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The absolute perfect wedding venue… where to start. The staff were flawless start to finish from enquiry, to check ups, to menu tasting and the big day. A special mention to Cassie and Hayley for all of their efforts in our wedding and for always reassuring us. Everything ran smoothly and the venue was absolutely stunning. The room was perfect with the comfiest bed ever and a setting any couple would die for. We were given a celebratory bottle and chocolates with a lovely note from the venue and it was just the cherry on top of a perfect day. I could go on, but wanted to say thank you so much for making our day perfect and stress free. Mr & Mrs Slater

Hotel's Favourite
We wondered if we would love this as much on a return visit. The answer is YES!! We love the historic, peaceful beauty of the Manor House. Luxury without stuffiness. I have no idea how they find such kind and delightful staff. They really are exceptional. We loved the Nine Ashes room so much, we didn't want to leave it. I had the most heavenly shower of my life, and the most heavenly bath. Please, please, please, don't redecorate these wonderful rooms into modern clones. The historicity of the rooms is what keep us returning. Our previous favorite was modernized. :( But we were happy to discover the Nine Ashes room. What a delight!

We have been to this hotel several times now and we had a brilliant few days, the hotel staff are always very helpful and pleasant and welcoming. The rooms we had were very comfortable and the Christmas decorations were brilliant. We ate at the pub connected to the hotel in the evenings and food and staff were very good also. Breakfast was served in the lovely restaurant and very good, being freshly cooked to order. I can highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Beautiful location. Amazing historical site but still managed to feel like a home from home, thanks to the wonderful attentive staff. Lucy on reception was very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The lounge bar staff (unfortunately can’t remember names) made us feel welcome and were very insightful about the site. The rooms were luxurious and immaculately clean and the bathroom was to die for - with both an amazing walk in shower and a huge bath with TV Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough

I came down to view the Manor House as a possible venue for my wedding and instantly fell in love with the magic that is The Manor House. We spent the night and had the most wonderful stay. Super comfy beds. Beautiful views. Amazing deep bath and lovely shower. TV in the bathroom so you can watch a film whilst relaxing in the bath with a glass of fizz. Nothing was too much of an ask for the staff. Really welcoming and has such a homely feel. We really can’t wait to come back and visit for our food tasting and then, our wedding!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Manor house, the staff are Welcoming and attentive making check-in, check-out and everything in between seamless. The grounds are immaculate and inviting, whether you feel like a round of golf or an afternoon stroll through the garden. My favourite feature in our Room was the shower with rainbar that, coupled with the Molton Brown, made for a very relaxing stay.

My husband and I recently visited the UK and treated ourselves to a night at the exquisite Manor House. The drive from quaint Castle Combe was spectacular but nothing prepared us for the sheer grandeur of the Hotel. The old world charm of the interiors was stunning and the magnificent gardens just a joy. Staff and service were second to none. We had afternoon tea on our arrival and Ryan was so helpful and attentive…it set the tone perfectly for the rest of our stay. We loved every minute of our short visit and will definitely be back!

Popped in for an informal lunch. Had a couple of glasses of Champagne with some delicious ham sandwiches and excellent chips. Ben was on duty, despite having to look after a wedding party he looked after us very well. Very comfortable warm surroundings. We were made to feel welcome by all the staff.

The Manor House (and its surrounding cottages) is one of the most idyllic places I’ve ever visited. A beautifully maintained, luxurious hotel that feels both historical but also welcoming. Our room was incredibly spacious and well appointed, with one of the most extravagant bathrooms I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. The staff were excellent - attentive and considerate, and would go out of their way to help whenever possible. The grounds of the hotel were spectacular and a joy to wander around. I really did enjoy my stay and it was well worth the trip out from London.
