This was my first visit to Tichborne’s Farm. Booking and communication with the owner were professionally handled and the additional information I requested was quickly forthcoming. The directions to the property were easy to follow and once i’d arrived I found ‘Linnet’, a clean, comfortable converted stable with all mod-cons (including lashings of hot water!). The little ‘extras’ provided and the care taken in presenting the property would lead me to happily recommend Tichborne’s Farm on to friends an family.

We stayed here for a short staycation and all thoroughly enjoyed it. The accommodation is a really good size and has all you'll need. It's on a working farm which felt really nice. The service was not fussy and over attentive but there when you needed something. There were some really nice touches such as a bottle of local milk in the fridge on arrival and a packet of biscuits on the counter. We would definitely go back, the setting is charming and the stay relaxing. Ooh, and the BBQ area is great and afforded us a lovely afternoon over grilled goodies with friends.

Wonderful place and love staying at Tichbornes. Having stayed many times and twice this year, Tichbornes Cottages can be thoroughly recommended. The three lovely Cottages are set amongst the most pictureque, lovely, peaceful countryside in Echilhampton just outside of Devises. Tichbornes has its own private very long driveway through the owners own fields, plenty of parking directly outside of Cottages. It is not a working farm but does have horses in the fields surrounding the Cottages. Jon,Judy and Annabelle, the Owners, work extremely hard to keep the whole of Tichbornes immaculate. A warm, friendly welcome awaits (not to mention the milk, fruit juice, chocolates, jam, marmalade, tea, coffee etc. provided fridge and cupboards!). They will try to make your stay comfortable and relaxed as possible. It is the perfect place to stay for everyone especially young children, elderly, couples and dogs. The Cottages are excellent, clean, tastefully decorated, well furnished and well equipped. Everything has been thought of including Dishwasher, Microware, hob and cooker, tea pot, mugs, cups, saucers, glasses, pots and pans you could think of. The Bathroom has branded top quality shower, bath etc. towels were lovely and soft. Bedding high quality and comfortable. Central heating and hot water plentiful and worked extremely well. In addition to well equipped Cottages, there is a laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and large Freezer. Etchilhampton village is a pretty, friendly, quiet hamlet with easily accessible footpaths perfect for walking dogs. Devises has Sainsburys and Morrisions supermarkets and plenty of other shops/Banks/Chemists/Takeaways. Devises offers plenty to do, tours of the famous Victorian brewery Wadworths, whose handsome Shire horses can be seen delivering beer. The restored Kennet and Avon canal with it's historic Wharf which has plenty of parking, a Tea Room, Theatre, Museum and canal boat trips. Caen Hill (which has plenty of parking)is a wonderful sight, with its continuous flight 29 locks) especially watching the marvellous sight of canal boats climb up through these! A welcome small friendly Tea Room near top. Caen Hill also has newly planted wooded areas for walking. Rowde just on edge of Devises "The Rowdey Cow Cafe and Icecream parlour" (made from own farm milk). Totally friendly, helpful staff, visited often, tasty breakfast, well cooked lunch, refreshing tea and cake or just dreamy icecream! Children's play area and lots of different animals to see! This part of Wiltshire covered with accessible footpaths and you can also join the 87 mile long Ridgeway path, no shortage of wonderful views when walking. It is perfect for visiting Avebury, Stonehenge. Lacock and the town of Marlborough is interesting for a visit (Marlborough white horse) history, architecture, Crofton pumping station, second widest wide High Street, Markets, Shops such as Cath Kidston, Seasalt, Joules and Waitrose and many individual shops, not forgetting refreshing tea at Polly Tea Rooms. Tichbornes is the perfect place to stay to get away from our busy lives, just relax in this wonderful setting or if you are a more active visitor, the area has lots to offer!…

We stayed in the Kestrel Cottage for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Loved the stable doors. Very good laundry facilities. Kitchen facilities were great. Nice big bathroom. Easy parking. We would definitely stay again if we ever come back to the area.

Checked in on Christmas Eve. The directions we received were very helpful and we found the cottages quickly even though the sat nav had no idea where we were. We were welcomed and shown around the cottage. There was fresh milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine. In the cupboard there was even a box of chocolates. The cottage was clean and there was free wifi. One day this didn't work and was fixed right away by Jon. He left a note and dropped by the next day to ask if everything was working. It's difficult to think of improvements as we enjoyed our stay immensely, but if I had to say anything it would be that the double bed was a tad narrow (at home I have a kings size) and the couch was a bit small. For the five of us (2 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs) it was perfect!

I stayed in the Linnet cottage for four nights, along with my dog which the owners kindly agreed to. The directions provided are clear and it was easy to find. It is a really great location as there are many interesting places to visit within half an hour to an hour's drive away, some of which are Avebury and Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill, Lacock, Bradford on Avon, Stonehenge, Barbury Castle park, Kennet & Avon Canal, to name a few. The cottage was lovely and clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Devizes is about a 5 minute drive away, where you can find Sainsburys, Tesco, Morrisons etc. The bathroom is nice and big and the shower over the bath works great. The skylights make the cottage nice and light. The wifi works really well. There is a washing machine available and a general utility room which is great for longer stays - remember to take some washing powder with you. The recycling bins are great and it was really nice to see how much can be recycled. There is salt and pepper, washing up liquid and hand soap provided. A bottle of milk and carton of orange juice was also provided - lovely touch. John and Judy ensure you are comfortable and are available should you have any queries or need any assistance. Loved the atmosphere and the farm setting. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to staying again soon.…

We just had a week at Tichborne's Farm Cottages (we filled up 2 cottages) and overall the stay was great - everything clean and enough towels etc. Beautiful countryside and once you have a good GPS/map, easy to get around the area. 5 mins drive to Devizes. The only downside was that there was supposed to be wifi but it was not working during our week-long stay. We were there for a family wedding and there was a lot of coming and going and we were out a lot, so missed the opportunity to tell the owners about it until the end of the week and by then... well, it was the weekend. They were very accommodating and allowed us to use their office wifi just opposite the cottages, which was fine - but before this I had had to drive into the nearest town (Devizes) to visit a wifi cafe to send some urgent emails. So that kind of took the edge off the otherwise excellent services. There's a washing machine but you need to bring your own washing powder so unless you live in the UK and drove there with a handy small amount, you have to purchase a large box in the supermarket. There is salt and pepper provided and they do stock your fridge with a bottle of wine and a bottle of milk for your arrival! Recommended for sure, but if there is a problem with eg internet do remember to tell them asap, don't wait till the weekend like we did!…

We have just returned from a weekend here. This is our 2nd time staying. Beautiful little cottages with everything you need for a self catering holiday. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. We have stayed in 2 different cottages, and both have a quaint country homely feel about them. Only 5 minute drive into Devizes to get shopping etc, yet you are far enough away to feel you are in the middle of nowhere. A big thank you to the owners John and Judy for making our stays with you so comfortable, your attention to detail impeccable. We will definitely be back. Thank you
