We avoided this hotel for years after it changed hands but the good news is it is back in the hands of Youngs Brewery and although we are unlikely to stay here we will revert to using it as a place for lunch or dinner on our travels South. On this occasion the staff were charming, efficient and quick. The...

Stayed over on a saturday night, very friendly staff who paid just the right amount of attention. Food, especially starters, were amazing... Dog friendly and staff treated mollie the dog ad almost a third guest. The room was classic country style, with a double comfy bed. Highly recommended stay...

I stayed in Room 5 last night on business. The Lamb (to a city dweller) feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, and arriving in the dark, its warm lamp light was incredibly welcome. We were helped to our rooms by the receptionist and I was really surprised by the quality of the room. Antique furniture, freshly painted walls,...

Stayed here with family during October half term for two nights, in what is overall, a very nice country inn. We all thoroughly enjoyed the very comfortable rooms and great welcome at the bar, both of which have been very tastefully renovated since my husband and I last stayed here two years ago. Breakfasts were also very good (if you,...

A group of 5 of us stopped here late Sunday evening at about 8.30pm. All the meals served where fine except my fish and chips which had been over cooked and was mostly batter. Saying that as soon as i brought this to the attention of the waiting staff they offered me a fresh portion or something else off the...

Fantastic boutique hotel. It is a very popular place to eat going by the numbers that where there when we arrived at lunchtime. There is a tiny onsite car park just passed the entrance but the main parking is across the road in front of the beer garden, so if you see a space take it or you will need...

Have just returned from a night at The Lamb. We arrived right in the middle of a busy Sunday lunchtime and despite our reservation having not made it on to their system from the booking agent, the staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. They did everything they could to make sure we could have something to eat...

on our way to Cornwall we spent a very lovely visit at The Lamb. Recently refurbished the bar area is lovely having not lost any authenticity, even the locals LOL, (got a lecture bout hunting shooting and fishing!!). Lovely room, delicious evening meal and breakfast. The stand out for us was the welcome for our little Jack Russell, a bed...

After the hustle and bustle of London, we took the train to Salisbury and a scenic bus ride to a delightful village called Hindon. The bus stopped just opposite the Lamb Inn and we were quickly let to a beautiful room with a nice view by the manager of the hotel. He refused a tip saying this was not the...

We enjoyed a one night stay in The Lamb, well located in the centre of atmospheric Hindon, an atmospheric village c. 30 minutes by car from Salisbury and a good base for the West Country. The property is a much refurbished coaching inn which has been in business for several centuries. It’s difficult to judge how much of the building...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lamb would have been trading as a public house as early as the 12th Century. By 1870 it was already well established as a posting inn that supplied 300 post horses for coaches going to and from London and the West Country. To this day the building retains plenty of its original character and features including inglenook fireplaces, flag stone floors and heavy wooden beams. We have 18 beautiful boutique-style bedrooms as well as a traditional pub, dining room as well as a private dining or meeting room providing the perfect place for locals and visitors to enjoy all of the comforts and amenities expected from a larger hotel. With attractions such as The Lamb is a perfect base to explore the area, including attractions such as Old Wardour Castle, Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and the glorious Wiltshire Country Side Whatever the occasion we're here to make your visit or stay one to remember! ... more   less
