Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a wonderful place to stay! The building is beautiful and the decor in our room was really sympathetic and fitting. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. There was a wide choice for breakfast and it was delicious! All of the staff were really friendly. We were made to feel extremely welcome and very comfortable. We'll be back if we stay in the area again.

Some might call it old, but we call it traditional and charming. The welcome was fantastic. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The local "sightseeing service" provided by the owner was simply exceptional! She made us feel welcome, she accommodated our slightly annoying dietary requirements, and she provided us with an excellent place to visit en-route home. I also overheard her having done this the day before and again today for another couple. They were very pleased with her suggestions, as we were with ours. Thank you.

We stayed for two nights late May whilst walking locally, we had a wonderful time room perfect for our needs. We were leaving early each morning so were given a takeaway breakfast which was above and beyond. On the Saturday evening g we ate in and what an amazing experience, the duck was to die for and the veg, which included, fennel, celeriac, leeks, and Jerusalem artichokes was a phenomenal taste experience. We would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to anyone. Thank you so much.

My partner and I went on our date night early evening,we were greeted by Karen the owner who was very friendly and welcoming, she was a great host. All the food was prepared fresh and did not disappoint,my partner had the Halloumi and orange salad and I had the Oyster Kedgeree, absolutely amazing, followed by Fillet Steak for my partner and Monkfish for myself. Will definitely recommend and will be going there again, worth every penny.

One of our workers stayed here .. he said the room smelt and it was a downgrade from the holiday inn last week . I complained and Tonnnnnnny had a rather abrupt and defensive response . He mentioned how our employee enjoyed the breakfast . Which he actually did enjoy but I didn’t complain about that . Avoid if you want someone friendly and accommodating

Imposing building with good sized car park. Slightly dated room could benefit from a bit of a makeover, but difficult to do without losing the charm. Evening meal was excellent. Tonny is a great chef, breakfast was one of the best we have ever had, fresh and piping hot. All very tasty. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Just had a 3 course take away which was absolutely excellent. The food arrived on time, was nice and hot, tasted great and was fantastic value for money. They have traditional food as well as a good Thai selection. For anyone looking for something different to an Indian, Chinese or Pizza .. please don’t hesitate.
