I have been staying at the schoolhouse hotel for about two weeks now, I have travelled to Royal Wotton Basset lately for work, and I was in need of a place to stay! I called up one evening and decided to give it a go, when I arrived I was very warmly welcomed. I was shown to my room with...

Booked this hotel as an overnight stay after visiting the Swindon Outlet stops. Check in is not until 5pm and that didn't bother us, but if I wasn't shopping I would have liked to check in before then. The room we had was large enough but cold and there was no kettles in the room for hot drinks, we were...

I have a six month contract in Swindon so wanted somewhere not too expensive but not rough. The School House is a delightful 19th Century building with a charming restaurant that is in the old school hall. The owners are very welcoming and friendly, they do have a rule of doors locked by 10pm and I have read some negative...

About £12 by taxi from Swindon. It is what it says on the package, a converted schoolhouse. The room was period, in that it was Victorian furniture, not every bodies cup of tea, but it was comfy, and had heating that I turned up and the room was clean. The breakfast was expensive, but very tasty, good ingredients and plenty...

Yesterday the 12th of October at 14.39 I booked this hotel on booking.com. I just went onto their site (The Schoolhouse) and ended on booking.com. I booked the hotel and gave my card details and paid, but as soon as I had done that I realised I had booked the wrong school house hotel, it should have been a hotel...

My girlfriend and I booked to stay here over the weekend. We decided to call out of courtesy after three hours of travelling in the car from Surrey to say we'd be arriving late at 11pm. The lady we spoke to said "no, you need to be here before 10pm". Taken aback, we asked what we could do or whether...

We came as a group of friends and the first impression was that the room was really cold. Lovely atmosphere, and beautiful room with classical music as an accompaniment however there weren't many people there. The food overall was of a good standard but took a very long time to come- around 1 hour for the starters. The wine was...

Comfortable and welcoming in a country location but convenient for local restaurants in Swindon and in Wooton Bassett. M4 is minutes away giving access to Swindon Bristol Newbury and Reading. Has its own restaurant and bar and comfortable rooms. Recommended for a peaceful stay out of town

All was nice but the food really was excellent! Attention to detail, good service, lovely main course (duck with forest fruit) served with 9 different delicious vegetables. Deserts were special! All very high standard and freshly prepared with love and care. Room was cosy, simple but comfortable and adequate. Super breakfast! Enough convenient parking, close to Lydiard Park which is...

This reminded me of holidays taken in Scotland when I was too young to care where it appeared that you were doing the hoteliers a favour by staying with them. I certainly got the impression that the propieters have made the rules to suit them and if you don't like it, you can lump it... Any thoughts of venturing out...
