Pleasure to stay a night in a character property. Warm and friendly welcome, comfortable and spacious bedroom, excellent breakfast and quiet country location in lovely surrounding garden. Would be only too happy to visit again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review - really kind of you. So glad you were happy here and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Wiltshire country side - and all the greedy birds! Would love to see you both again if you are in the area.

This is a large thatched house dating from the 16th century. My wife and I stayed for one night in late October as a half-way house between Portsmouth and Bristol. I chose it for its relative proximity to Avebury. It is a remarkable place. The owners clearly see this as a labour of love. We arrived in the dark of...

Thank you so much for writing such a lovely long review - all very descriptive which is always so useful for potential future guests. I am sorry about the absence of showers in the main house, although we do have one in the holiday let, but it is impossible to fit one in upstairs because of the low thatch and...

We arrived for a one night stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. Lovely backwater of the Wiltshire countryside. We were welcomed by Angie and Chris who gave us a fascinating insight into the history of the thatched cottage followed by tea and home made cookies in the conservatory. Very pleasant. The room was comfortable and cosy....

Mayfield is a charming thatched home which our most welcoming hosts Angie and Chris keep to the highest standards. Our room was very comfortable, full of character, spotless bathroom and everything we could need. We wish we could have stayed longer to try Angie's excellent cooking, breakfast was extremely good. A convivial and very pleasant stay.

Thank you so much for writing a review and for your visit to us here in Wiltshire. It would be lovely to see you both again - maybe next year at the Jazz Festival. I loved hearing all about the music and the atmosphere in Marlborough - I must go next year!

Stayed here walking the Mid Wilts Way. Quirky and stuffed with interesting collections. Rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. Our host was kind enough to chauffeur us to and from the local pub as we had no car. Lovely and peaceful location I can't praise this place highly enough.

We spent a wonderful week at the idyllic Mayflower cottage at the Mayfield grounds.
