Visited on a Sunday lunch time, not overly busy. The village of Wootton Rivers is pretty and a great starting point for walks along the canal. I was attracted to the pub for this main reason as we had wanted a walk with the dog before lunch and other local village pubs I had liked the look of online were...

This is a lovely pub, warm and cosy with plenty of character and a friendly welcome. We booked a table for 8 on Sunday and were offered an extensive choice on the menu, including traditional roast - there was something for each of us, especially important when you have children with you ranging in age from 6 to 15! The...

There was 12 of us that turned up for lunch on 12th November. It wasn't that busy but had to wait ages for our order to be taken, lunch was then another wait & when it did turn up 2 of the roast were cold but when we asked them to be taken back it was met with a frown....

I popped into this pub for an evening meal on a day off work. What do I do for a living? I'm a chef and food reviewer. So this became a bus mans holiday. The food was very poor who ever was in the kitchen was not a chef. I had a roast chicken dinner here are a few things...

We found this place while drive through some out of the way villages.Looks a typical old 16th century English pub with low ceilings and several open fireplaces.Interior could do with a revamp, but the food was worth waiting for.Had the normal Sunday roast (which had plenty of meat) and my wife had her favorite sea bass, both were tasty. They have quite a...

Positives: A good price. You get what you pay for. Clean room / Shared bathroom / kitchen clean. A nice pub. Good food (evening meal roast, fab choice on menu, extensive fish choices). Very busy in the pub restaurant. Nice friendly staff. Accommodation cheap. Good wifi. Good shower. Most rooms had their own bathroom for extra cost (not mine). Full...

Hubby and I were on the way to Brokenhurst for camping when we saw this sign which simply said Good Food Pub. We followed the directions and found this pub. Gorgeous little village and gorgeous pub, so idyllic. The food was fantastic and the service was efficient and pleasant. We paid 43 which was for 2 starters, 2 mains and...

Stayed in one of their B&B rooms whilst passing through on a cycling holiday. Had a meal & beer in the evening which was all very good. Staff were very pleasant & helpful. Room was basic but given the price I couldn't complain. There was a shared kitchen area which could be used to make tea / coffee etc
