Simply put this was everything we could have asked for.
We stayed for one night but were blown away with the hotel and have already recommended to friends. The rooms are beautiful and while like whererever you go you could perhaps nitpick, it would be just that. It had the old world charm you would expect from a Georgian manor home but with enough contemporary features to make it a comfortable stay.
The attention to detail is very good, the room we stayed in Parr was instagram ready. The were the normal tea and coffee service, but even this just felt a little more upmarket and in keeping. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the owners helped organise a bottle of fizz for us on our arrival.
We were on the top floor which afforded us a lovely view and we could even see the steam train chugging by in the distance if tht is your cup of tea!
Covid rules were respected with masks on in public areas and hand sanitiser available.
Breakfast lists were left and to be filled out in the evening and your preferred time of service. The tables were laid out in such a way to provide a reasonable amount of room for each bubble with seperate bubbles on opposite sides of tables.
This worked well and provided an opportunity (should you wish to interact with other guests.
The owners took the tme to speak to us Judith was friendly and happy to share some info about the area.
Breakfast was top drawer as well, from the selection of jams and marmalade including some homemade, to the full English. All was cooked well and the feeling was you could ask for more should you wish. The coffee was good too.
As mentioned the grounds are stunning including a stunning 'huge' sweet chestnut tree, that is certainly worth a look.
The village Bewdley was lovely too, we were heading to West Midland Safari Park (This was about 10 minutes away) but we ate out and went for a drink in one of the local pubs. We also walked down and along the river which we both enjoyed.
We would happily go back to explore a bit more as this was a bit of a whistlestop.
Kateshill house has a lot of history to it so was interesting finding out a bit more about that too.
I found the room to be excellant value given the quality of the stay.
I'd also like to thank the owners, who were lovely.

We booked 3 rooms at Kateshill House and it really is a 5 Star B&B, although B&B is t really right for this amazing accommodation.
My first advice would be to call for your booking, don’t use Booking or other sites.
From the garden, splendour of the house, to the rooms available you won’t be disappointed. I would pay double the rate and still be pleased with Kateshill House.
Amazing night sleep, so comfortable with the huge beds, sofa in the rooms to help relax, we also had the roll top bath which is huge.
Breakfast was excellent quality and we were spoilt too, big servings, extra toast, croissants, fruit ... just everything you could possible need. No rush, we sat and ate and talked for quite a while without any pressure, in-fact the host and her daughter are so friendly and attentive.
Such a shame the property is for sale, I hope the future hosts maintain the reputation of Kateshill House.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

I recently needed an overnight hotel stop in the Wyre Forest area (Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport) where I used to live, for myself and my wife. The budget hotel chains (PI/TL) were charging between £80 and £110 without breakfast, a frankly ridiculous price. I then searched and found Kateshill House, an AA 5star rated B&B in Bewdley. The price quoted was £85 including breakfast.

We found the place easily and were astonished to find it was a wonderful Georgian house in beautiful grounds with easy parking. Despite it only being 1.00pm we were able to check in. I must admit to rechecking my booking because I couldn't believe this was the right place for the price I had been quoted.

The room was lovely and spacious, even including a couch, the bed comfortable, the bathroom with shower perfectly acceptable. The location was excellent, being a few minutes level walking right into the centre of Bewdley along "High Street", a magnificent street full of remarkable houses some of which dated back 400 years.

Kateshill does not have a restaurant but the nearby town centre caters for everything from Wetherspoons, through an excellent Indian restaurant, to the more upmarket Mulberry, all within 5 doors of each other.

Breakfast was fabulous. My wife had a full English, with gluten free toast. I had two poached eggs on toast with delicious thick slices of smoked salmon and avocado. hAll te ingredients were top quality, including the rasher of bacon I stole off my wife's plate. One of the best breakfasts I have had for a long time.

My only concern in writing this review is that the next time I want to stay there I will find Kateshill either fully booked, have raised its low price, or both!

Fantastic across the board. On site parking. We were greeted by Caroline an absolutely bubbly person, who could not be more helpful. Each room has a name, ours was PARR. Ours room was decorated in lemon and grey and absolutely everything was co-ordinated, sheets, towels, walls, tiles, cushions etc. The room was very large lots of room for suitcases. The bathroom was also very large. Even though there was a few people staying you did not hear other guests. Breakfast was served in a large dining room, cereals etc available as a buffet, and then a cooked breakfast with all the usual options. A short walk into Bewdley for dinner.

We stayed here for 1 night in the Seymour room. It was a lovely greeting when we arrived. The room was really large and spacious and beautifully presented. The sofa is large and comfortable , there’s plenty of floor space. The only negative was it’s just a double bed, it really feels like a bigger bed could be put in the room - but that’s our personal preference for a bigger bed. The were really nice quality wine glasses and tumblers, which was a really lovely touch.
The bathroom had a shower and bath, which was lovely. They had really nice elements like makeup wipes. My only criticism is the floorboards above us were really creaky. We could hear the people above us when we were in bed and again in the morning, which was annoying

There was a wide option for breakfast and it was tasty, very pleased. The only negative is the coffee wasn’t great, it tasted like instant rather than decent coffee.

Despite a couple of small negatives I would definitely stay again. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The lounge rooms they had were lovely and decorated stylishly. There was no where that looked tired or in need of decorating, it’s clearly been carefully and lovingly looked after.

What a beautiful house. Beautifully restored and decorated. We stayed in Cleeves, a lovely room, very comfortable, lovely bathroom and so clean, our chandelier was gleaming. There was a lovely welcome, large, excellent breakfast, I couldn't finish mine. An easy walk to Bewdley, perfectly located.

An added bonus was after breakfast we wanted to go for a walk by the river. The staff allowed us to keep the room for an additional hour so we could shower and change before driving home with no extra charge. I would recommend highly.

I booked Kateshill via an online booking site. On arrival I was informed the booking had not been sent through, even though I had a confirmation email, this was at around 6pm. Judith sprang into action and managed to get me alternate accommodation in the town, but they were not offering breakfast, so Judith arranged for me to come back to Kateshill for my breakfast which I will say was excellent and she would not take payment for the breakfast. Also her husband took me into town to the alternate accommodation allowing me to leave my car at Kateshill rather than having to find a parking space
Overall I cannot thank them enough for the way the looked after me and as a result
I have already booked my next 2 nights stays with them directly.

WE arrived late in the afternoon, parked outside the entrance and made our way inside to be greeted by the owner who was expecting us.
All the rooms have a Tudor connection, our room was Henry a marvellous room but on the second floor so be prepared for steps.
The room was huge, well decorated and fitted out with king size bed, numerous pillows, a large sofa and a writing desk.
The bathroom was newly fitted out with both Rain shower and large bath.
Breakfast must be ordered by 8pm the previous evening but when served it is faultless, excellent local Sausage, bacon and black pudding if you go the whole hog!

A real country retreat feel to it ,yet only a 5-10 minute walk from Bewdley Centre.
We stayed in the Cleeves room which was beautifully decorated throughout, the bedroom & bathroom both large & well appointed. Loved the soft furnishings.
Very comfortable bed & had everything we needed.
Nice selection of bathroom products & robes and slippers if you wanted to use them .

Breakfast was good, all locally sourced and freshly cooked to order, making your selection the evening before.
It was a very relaxing stay and the grounds were lovely, the weather was very unpredictable so we were unable to take advantage of the outdoor seating but it looked lovely .
We asked if we could leave our vehicles in the car park after checkout as we'd planned a walk. This was no problem and we were several hours before our return, so that was very welcomed.
Overall, would definitely return and recommend as a lovely place to stay ,great host who'd only been there 3 1/2 months.
Highly recommend a stay if you are in the area.

So pleased that we found this complete gem. The whole house is beautiful and each room is individually decorated. We stayed in a deluxe king room and we had so much space. The rooms are so well stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, water. The bathroom had an extensive range of toiletries and supplies (emergency toothbrush and shaving kit). The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic with a very wide choice of options and the owner makes her own preserves- all delicious.
I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
