Feels like a big house still. 21 rooms and no lift (I think). Rooms and bathrooms luxurious and well furnished
There is no spa or anything. Just a relaxed country house feel.

I was surprised by the consistency of the good reviews. Sadly this was not my experience. Sure the food is better than anything locally but the dining room so noisy with fridges next to an unplanned seating area and the loos. Sorry.

This was our third visit, staying two nights. Our welcome was polite and efficient and our room (upgraded!) was clean, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed sandwiches and drinks in the bar and ate in the restaurant on the second evening. The food in the...More

We had a room on the floor below the hall and bar area. From memory there were about eight steps down which I was able to manage with some help. However there was a large open lift on this flight of stairs which could be used if needed. You needed to walk through the bar area to access the rooms we were in but this did not concern us. There were toilets right next to the restaurant area which were fully accessible. Before we traveled I contacted the hotel directly. They were most helpful in allocating a suitable room. Hope this helps. Julia
