On arrival the annex that houses the accommodation looks a bit tired and not very welcoming, reception is in the main block. We checked in and were given a room in the annex (all the rooms are there) which was clean, comfortable and warm (once we switched the heating on). It was well provided for with a bath as well...

Thank you for your detailed report. The Sunday opening has been under debate for a while and your comments are very much noted. Sorry to hear about the breakfast. We are currently running out a lot of training at the moment to ensure consistency in all food areas. Your commentary very much helps that task.

Was a bit apprehensive as we were told there was only a Carvery and no fish other than goujons. Great menu and nice looking cold table. Lovely salmon fillet with beautiful lemon butter sauce, which was served in a little jug, so that I could serve myself. Gorgeous sweets, and the rose water cheesecake was sublime. Will def. be returning.

Glad we performed . The availability of fresh fish depends on which day the market is visited. Thank you very much for your kind commentary and we look forward to welcoming you again.

Lunch on 7th February 2016. All four of us chose the Carvery. It was really top notch. The Dining area was spacious. All staff were most welcoming. One felt like a valued Customer. Everywhere very clean. We were given some Vouchers which we used on this occasion. This was our second visit and it will not be the last. Looking...

We have been putting some additional staff training into the Carvery in the last few weeks. It is so easy to get complacent and that is not really in our DNA. Very glad that you enjoyed your meal with us.

Stayed at the a Granary with a Groupon Deal with Family. Hotel room was nice, and what we expected. Reception, bar and waiters very pleasant and welcoming. Food was excellent, and the presentation was very ggood. Hotel out of the way and not much going on, so would not recommend it if you are looking for a lively atmosphere. More...

Thank you for writing in. Your commentary is much appreciated. Yes we are in a rural setting and it is a good place to unwind and relax rather than hitting the town!

Firstly the good news - the food was exceptional throughout. The BEST ribeye steak and pan fried bass/risotto we've tasted! However, there are some issues on cleanliness, all plates had a greasy film, walls and skirting needed wiping over, chairs were stained, carpet looked like it needed a vacuum. Bizarrely only empty tables get a tablecloth and setting so our...

This is great news about the food but disappointing on the rest. Remarks duly noted as we always take commentary on board.

Visited this restaurant with my wife and 80 year old parents as a special treat. The price includes a starter and desert as well as coffee/mints and the carvery itself has plenty of choice. Very nice surroundings and excellent polite service from all of the staff. Could not fault the quality of the food and would definitely recommend it to...

Thank you for your kind comments. The Granary started life as a Carvery in the late 70's - so we hopefully get it right. Much appreciated.

My sister and I stayed at The Granary, which was a Christmas gift for us from my daughter. I really cannot praise this hotel enough. The facilities in our room were great, furniture was all in goo condition and toiletries, such as shower gel and hand soap were supplied as well as towels. Tea and coffee making facilities were there...
