We visited whilst on holiday, had been told that it was a bit 'hit and miss' well I guess today was a 'miss'!! Sunday lunch was gastro prices (21 quid!!) so we had 1 beef and 1 pork, thinking this would be a roast extravaganza! Only to be served lukewarm yorkshires, greasy veg and fatty meat. Our little baby was...

Firstly, this is an inn, not a hotel. If you're expecting posh, don't go there, but I think this is a superb place. Right on the river, great pub, beer garden, (with pigs), loads of parking, great staff, great food, and rooms to stay in. It's one of those places where you can just go and feel at home. I've...

We visit this pub regularly for drinks and sometimes food. The pub is cosy and traditional. There is a separate bar with a juke box and pool table. The beer is the local brew and there are local juices too. There bar food is good, locally sourced good.. My only compliant is that the puddings are on the expensive side....

Over priced food and not the quality this restaurant reports itself to produce , I expected a lot more than this , starters over cooked , main course was supposedly a lamb trio more like 3 small taster bites should've been a starter , dessert was ok but even then the coffee was served Luke warm , avoid this place...

You have to know you're staying in a pub with rooms not a hotel. The bedrooms are therefore smaller than a hotel and the amenities more basic. We weren't spending any time in the room apart from sleeping so this was just fine. The evening meal choice was excellent and there were plenty of places to eat, the bar, an...

We visited The Talbot on two separate occasions; once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the food and welcome were excellent. Huge portions and worth the price. Food is served all day and the setting by the river is great! Would highly recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights, 2nd and 3rd September as we were visiting the area for a family wedding. We appreciate that the pub was built in the 17th Century and so the floors would be a bit uneven but we had not banked on the sparseness of the furnishings in the bedroom which looked liked they had been there...

I have visited this pub many times now but this was the first time I have stayed over for a few nights. The bar is very friendly with great service and the restaurant food is exceptional. Rooms are good but don't plan on going to sleep early. The noise from the bars below, one of which has a jukebox, is...

Great location decent choice of food and beer, pretty informal great location. Log fires in the winter, always popular which is obviously a great sign. Several events through the year - worth a visit.

Fabulous location, beautiful walks. We were attending a family celebration which was held at the hotel. We stayed two nights. The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They have created a very relaxed atmosphere but the service is top notch. The food was excellent and I disagree with previous comments about the price..because we...
