Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a family of ten people varying in age we all agreed that we had excellent food and very good service from the bar to the serving of our meal. The food was well cooked and hot and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to all the staff.

Excellent evening at this venue easy booking system . Food was fantastic and well worth the money. Entertainment was great and catered for all ages. Drinks are reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone looking to book this venue in the future. Staff were very polite and helpful.

Nice hotel with basic amenities. Good location and facilities. Superior double room was sufficient for a family of 3. Light in the room didn’t work well over the mirror but other than that it was fine. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

A heart-felt thanks to all the staff at the Southcrest for hosting our recent large family wake. A very special mention goes to Helen, the events manager, for taking such good care of us from beginning to end, and making planning the event as relaxed and straightforward as possible. The buffet that we selected was delicious and there was plenty of it; we had lots of positive comments about how good the spread was….thank you, Chef. Because we were such a large group, it was also great to be able to use the bar area in addition to the function room, and the bar staff did a great job looking after us. Thank you Southcrest, we were so glad that we chose you for this event.

Overall this is a nice hotel, but my room was in a wing at the far end which was difficult to get to (up two flights of stairs, along a corridor, down two flights of stairs - if you have mobility issues make sure you specifically request an accessible room when you make your booking). There was no central heating in this wing, and nobody had thought to turn the electric radiator and/or towel rail on in advance, so when I arrived the room was very cold and slightly damp. I've stayed at this hotel before in other rooms and never encountered this problem so I think it's specific to this wing.

Never yet stayed in a hotel that didn’t have marmalade for toast at breakfast. This hotel was the first. I asked at breakfast and was told we don’t stock it. Hot buffet breakfast was typical of self serve, warm, but not hot. Cold buffet was poorly stocked especially after 08:30. Staff were attentive and informed. A couple of problems we had with the room, were addressed promptly. Had a little trouble finding the hotel in the first place, there didn’t appear to be a sign on the main road indicating where the hotel was.

Arranged a company Xmas function for 54 members of my team. Helped all the way by Kay who was brilliant . The night itself was fantastic and all of the Southcrest staff looked after us including Amber, Letitia, Alan and Jordan to name just a few. Food choice (buffet) was very good and the rooms for our team to stay overnight where all comfortable and great value. The service and value of Southcrest are very important factors to keep in mind when reading other reviews as it is this that sets them apart.

We booked the Southcrest manor hotel for our son’s wedding on 20th October. We had a fantastic day that is still being talked about now. The whole event was well organised and delivered by the on site team, the room looked great and the wedding breakfast was of a high standard. We booked a number of rooms for family and friends and the feedback fron all was that rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast the following morning was great with a great choice of hot and cold food on offer.

We had the most wonderful beautiful wedding day, my now husband and I are both stunned with how the day went. From preparing and meeting with Jay until the very last moment we left the hotel we felt like the most special and important couple!. The hotel facilities are faultless and the staff are outstanding and regularly it felt like they were going above and beyond. We couldn't be happier with our wedding day and the entire process. Everybody who attended the wedding and or stayed over at the hotel were so impressed and constantly telling us how beautiful it is. Gorgeous setting, great staff, would 100 % return for a special event or stay
